Honestly $25 an hour for a driver is low. Hell you can stock shelves at Walmart in my town for $21 an hour. I'm a driver and my company refuses to give us raises. Then brags about their almost 1 billion in revenue last year. #dontworkforTMC
How you're treated at fedex ground is in part up to your contractor. I'm treated very well in my opinion. I started in april and on my W2 I made 72k. I had a bit of time off in there, too. I can call off almost whenever I want and we're all known by name. I've heard horror stories but in my short driving career, it seems it deoends on the contractor. Nevertheless its undeniable that UPS seems to be a better option!
As a long haul driver from Montreal, Qc my company decrease by 5cpm. The reason they are saying is recession and that's the market price. But have lots of work. Many company using the word recession just because they wanna cut down driver's cpm
True but we’re already making over $41 an hour and at ratification it will be over $44. Thats just a straight time, rate. Everything after eight hours is overtime daily.
Most FedEx delivery drivers are Independent Contractors, this is why they don't get raises or get any benefits. Please do more research on this and you will see they wont be in trouble at all with drivers as they will always have drivers similar to Amazon that will work and deliver for low wages. I did this for a short time and they give you a set rate for the week to get your routes done and then run you like a dog! Not the same as UPS by any means NOT even Union positions either most are ICs.
This is one of the reasons why the government is letting so many illegal immigrants into the country to help keep wages lower with an increase in the number of people vying for jobs which they will work for gladly at lower pay.
49 a hour? holy shit... im a hazmat driver and i only make 34... were getting screwed.
but i've know that for some time!
There's only one way to fix the problem. Cough up the money or watch your drivers leave.
FedEx Ground has some of the lowest wages in the trucking industry. Do you know their drivers don't even get health insurance?
And it's not like Fed Ex is half the price to ship items.
FedEx doesn’t have a good reputation anymore I try to avoid having things shipped from them to see the stolen lost or broken
I work as a FedEx ground subcontractor. They’ve been throwing out a lot of red herrings to keep us off their trail of what they’re going to do.
This is a true public announcement good to hear. I worked 50.5 years as a forklift operator go teamsters 🏆🇺🇸

Easy solution, just merge both and name it FedUp.
I walked out of FedEx a long time ago. Their numbers game takes precedent over driver income.
If the Teamsters union want to survive, they need to unionize the rest of the industry. Otherwise, we are going to end up with Conway syndrome.
Does FedEx have drivers?_____ I thought the delivery service is 1099 subcontractors.
UPS pilots got a new deal too, $405 per hour and thats about the highest hourly rate out there for any airline.
Absolutely right I’m one of the drivers
I knew this was gonna happen
Fed ex has always been strong anti union and uses mainly contractors. Nothing will change.
We love you brother

Ups ain’t hiring no one rn . They in fact they let go of a lot drivers . And at FedEx we start out at 37.50 for class A driver.
Can't wait till these mega carriers to go down one by one.
Is it me or are carriers with cutthroat rates finally seeing the chickens coming home to roost?
Takes 5 YEARS to get to the 49.00 an hour. You start at 21.00 an hour fyi
ups and fedx are going to downsize huge. neither can afford those pay rates. huge layoffs, both companies just buying time. i would stay put AND PRAY.
Yep shipping cost gonna continue to go up
Ive always thought about trying to get on with UPS.
They should give a raise before they are forced to.
In the short term, they'll probably try to cycle out drivers and lower the pay even more.

Fedex ground workers are employed by contractors.
Ups drivers won't see that kind of cash until 5 years from now and If the vote gets passed
True but we’re already making over $41 an hour and at ratification it will be over $44. Thats just a straight time, rate. Everything after eight hours is overtime daily.
Paid by the mile @ FedEx ground.
They have the yellow drivers to compete with also.
Fedex contracts out all its drivers except express. I get a daily pay rate.
Reasons i don't work for company's or do w2 or 1099 Jobs i get cash only
Doesn't Dejoy owns shares in both companies? Isn't he still the person in charge of the USPS? What is up with this picture!
More ups became union my boy thats why the pay and benefits change but most at ups still only 4hrs a day.
How about try keeping the rates lower then ups so people will use fedx instead?

I'm a Owner Operator and I make 55.00 a hour.
How much are the union dues for UPS? I’m sure their membership has gone up in cost.

Ha
FED EX sucks
The solution will be the taxpayer, you watch.
I think the government should step in and control this problem. Maby the democrats have a solution?
