  • See how I adapted a motorcycle stand to lift the rear of the Lectric XP Trike for easy maintenance and repairs!
Ebikes and Etrikes are heavier than non-electric bikes and working on them can pose some challenges. Luckily the rear frame of the Lectric XP Trike provides some options for raising the bike easily to perform maintenance tasks.

Seeing this video just saved me a nice piece of change! I would have wrapped the tape around the connecting points on the stand instead of the actual trike though. But yeah, thanks for the tip!

That's an excellent idea you came up with using that stand you have raising the rear wheels to service the rear end on your three-wheeler very easy access to the wheels also I see.

Thanks! There was just enough adjustment inwards to make it work.

Put them in a box of cornstarch if it's lubricant cornstarch suck it right up

Alcohol got them squeaky clean and braking strong but will keep the cornstarch trick in my back pocket.

Great adaption of your motorcycle stand for the Lectric Trike! That will be perfect for working on the rear of the bike. As far as those rear brakes go, as long as the pads aren't worn too thin, you should be able to clean them and reuse.

I'll be working on cleaning the pads this weekend and will report on effectiveness!

I still have car ramps that I purchased from Kmarts back in the late 1970s that are still in excellent shape you got me thinking watching your video I can use them car ramps I imagine I could drive up on them lining them up in front of the back tires?

car ramps can work for some items but don't free up the wheels to spin.

I emailed Lectric about the brake upgrade kit, and this is what they told me:
The new hydraulic brake kit will include:
    - Front Wheel assembly with a tire, tube, and rotor pre-installed for easy and convenient installation.
    - Front Brake system with a left brake lever, a front brake line, and a front brake caliper.
    - Rear Brake system with a rear brake lever, a rear brake line, and a rear brake caliper.
    - Zip Ties to secure the new brake lines to the wiring harness for a clean look and to keep the lines out of harm's way.
The tools you will need include a 5mm allen wrench for the brake installation, a 15mm box wrench to install the front wheel, and 2.5mm allen wrench to move the throttle for the brake lever. These tools will not be included in the kit.
    Hope it helps!

A bit shocking that a full front wheel assembly will be included!...but could make sense. I had to make up custom disk spacers to get the Shimano MT200 caliper to not rub against the front wheel spokes.

Split a small piece of rubber hose and put it on the jack cradles instead of the bike. Good video. Brake cleaner works best

I've got both lying around. I still use the stand for motorcycles though and the weight would probably rip through the rubber. I'll have to look at using a bit of rubber I can pop on and off.

When I power wash my exterior of my home. I went to the local Lowe's home improvement store in the plumbing department and got pipe installation you can cut it to length and I use black electrical tape hold it onto my ladders so it doesn't scratch my home my ladders resting against the siding.

I've got some similar materials laying around. This will work short term.
