So, I was fishing for catfish (much smaller scale) in my pond, right at the bank dangling my hook right in front of them. My dog sat and watched this futility, then waded in, gently picked up the fish, and delivered it the ground at my feet before lying down again. You could tell she thought i was kind of stupid and useless, much in need of instruction and help.
Put a fly rig on that looks like a fly. A small split shot 8 inches above the fly a small split shot. Then trophy bass. Let bottom rig slowly sink to the bottom. A lot of times, fish will bite on the fall. If the fish doesn't bite, very slight pop wrist forward to dark fly subtly. Or, very slightly lift hand just alittle bit then let fly fall. This will keep fly stationary. Popping wrist lightly towards you will slightly dark fly forward. This works best for me for fish to bite fly. If no bites move after 4 attempts. Good luck. 😊
