  • ALMOST done on this Voyager XII, but there's still much to do. I trashed the water pump, replaced the radiator, fiddled with carbs, it DOES RUN but it ain't finished yet. Video #2. There will be a video 3. SOON!

      Unless it’s 95 degrees and you’re stuck in traffic.

    I'm a 70 year old motorcycle enthusiast that has done my own work on my bikes, whether it be a small or a major undertaking. I learn something that I should've known before from you almost every time you put up a video and I want to thank you for that. Keep them coming. I don't know how you get your variety of bikes from but if you happen on a 77 to 82 Suzuki GS series, that would be great.

    Glad you're going for the stock air box. CV carbs hate pods (Everyone says they got it jetted/running right, they don't) and this is a touring bike, needs the low end smooth pull.
    Looking forward to the next video. Gets me through the winter up here in PA till I can ride again.

    Another great series. Thanks! Swop out “donuts” with exhaust copper gaskets. 🎉

    Try putting velocity tubes/ extension to the pod filters. I used rubber couplings from homedepot (plumbing section) or pvc

    Great vids man! I have been watching your vids about this bike. I just got a 93 that only has 5,000 miles on it. Your video about flushing the cooling system was great and I probably would have overlooked that. Crappy thing for me is I have to pull the fuel tank which means the whole back subframe has to come off. Tank is moderately Rusty and probably would respond to acid but I just don't know how I could get everything drained out of it if I just try to do it in the bike. Plus if o coat it, it's going to have to be out of the bike anyway. At least this one's much easier than the 86 cavalcade I did that tank had to come out and that meant the swing arm and drive etc had to come out. Fun!

    nice job.. these 4cyl voyagers pop up cheap on marketplace.. i had one of the early 6cyl models back in the day.. i'm kinda thinking i might pick one up if i can find a good one to start with.. thing is.. there are so many goldwings around for not much more.. could probably find really nice wing before good voyager comes along.. i'm thinking i might sell my BMW R1150RT ABS.. it doesn't get ridden that much.. fairly low miles.. could fund the beginning of a half decent project with the proceeds.. we'll see.. thanks for the content..

    Persistent! Keep on digging. The rubber boots for the carbs. Have you ever boiled them to make them pliable again. I've seen it done. Nice job on the water system. Enjoyed the video and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!

    PLEASE post a video of air box installation!

      The lower box? I have already done that and shot a bit of footage, but it’s difficult to show because there’s no space. All you do is shove the carbs in, folding the air ducts and work it past them, pop the carbs into the holder and work the ducts around the carb inlets. Again I have some footage but the video isn’t done yet. Watch for it.

    I like the kN pod idea ever think of adding a couple of extensions for clearance?

    • @MotoRestoFL
      @MotoRestoFL  4 місяці тому

      Yea, but the space is very limited. It’d need angled extensions and there’s not enough room.

      Generic aftermarket. I ordered them from Z1 Enterprises.

      I don't remember. It was a while ago. I don't think it was extreme, however.
