Furthermore, it's also orienting my character attack in the right direction when the camera is not facing them directly. Any suggestions? Also, how do I become better at aiming the SAED? I wiff it like 50% of the time :(
Personally, I always keep track of the monster with the right stick, it's just muscle memory for me. However there are options in the menu for auto targeting I think? Maybe do a UA-cam search for monster targeting in Rise? As for SAED aiming, it's just something that takes time and practice. It's a really long animation so you're going to have to predict where the monster will be in a few seconds rather than where it is at the time. This is something that will take a lot of practice for each monster but it is rewarding nonetheless. Otherwise, just save using it for when the monster is downed 🙂
Do you select the monster by pressing the right stick? Pay attention to the top right corner of the screen, it should highlight the monster you're hunting. Then if you press L, you'll always point the camera in the direction of the monster. It takes some getting used to, but it's very convenient!

I dont get what you're asking here. That I should include every button from.every controller? Otherwise, what's the difference between writing the button and copy pasting the button from the switch controller? It's the same result.
It might be a bit late to go back and do that for all the weapons and I think I'll just keep things consistent from here. I don't think it's much of an ask to go check the Switch controller layout though. Especially considering that takes little effort and these guides take substantially more. But I appreciate your feedback I will consider it for a Sunbreak guide if applicable or future titles 🙂.
How do I charge my sword in ps5 terms idk what the hel ZR is for like what?? Plus X an A I use triangle and O to hit so idk which bottons to press when he says A or X
Impact phial basically just does stun damage so you will do KOs potentially, and elemental phials do elemental damage which is super strong in Sunbreak. Does that answer your question?
Because on Switch the button layouts are swapped. X and Y are swapped, as are A and B. It might help to look at a switch controller if the inputs are confusing you.
I am on PlayStation. Every time I go to charge my sword by pressing R2+O, than holding Triangle and it keeps charging my axe causing it to spin when I only want to charge my sword. Someone help a brotha out. What am I doing wrong? Do some CB on rise charge axe only or something?? Or is it my ass is doing the wrong input?
for xbox players, to do the charge sword: charge your shield, charge more vials BUT its right trigger+B> keep holding B and trigger then press Y> release B
So like, i'm a swaxe main. Get a little bored then decided to test out CB. a buddy of mine told me that CB is kinda similar to Swaxe but a with a little spice, so i test it out on rajang (best mistake of my life.) In short i got my ass handed to me in silver plater with an extra salt 😂. In the end i had to finish it with my trusty conqueress. Nuff said, after 10 hours of struggling and almost breaking my switch in half i can proudly say i am one of the many guys that can properly utilize the CB 😆.
I feel like I've handicapped myself in every possible way as a beginner to monster hunter, charge blade is my first weapon and I play on Playstation so trying to translate these Nintendo controls is like rocket science I swear
I'm trying to convert my phials into my shield, bit I can't seem to do it. do u have to attack then cancel or am I missing something? edit: figured it out lol and btw how do u char the blade?
Gotta have a charged shield, then do the charge phials animation and hold down X. Your shield should compress and then release with a sword attack. Your sword will then be charged. Unless you have condensed spinning slash as your switch skill. Then it will be a spinning axe move
If you mean what I think you mean, there's a switch skill that unlocks after completing hub 2/village 3 that gives you the ability. It's the same input as charged sword attack. Let me know if that helps or if you are referring to roundhouse slash or something else.
Absolutely! If you go to the weapons screen in the equipment box in Rise, you'll see the order in which I'm doing the videos. I decided to do them in that order so as to avoid an bias in which I do first. My main weapon Insect Glaive ends up being the last blade master weapon 😅. But that also means ranged weapons are last. I hope you look forward to it!
@@KingRobRool ahhh, perfect! My other favourite weapon series (Ruri, Arekkz) skipped all the ranged ones. With the bow I've found the flow of the combos particularly unintuitive. I'm never sure what charge level I'm on, when/why it drops back to zero, and when I'm able to dodge or use Aerial Aim.
Both absolute legends of the community! Never thought I'd be mentioned in the same breath 😅. Well Bow will be last. I did a lot of Bow on my bowgunning secondary character so hopefully I can do the weapon justice. And I hope you look forward to it 😁

Nvm guys I haven’t played this game in forever it won’t charge my sword because I don’t have it equipped to do so lmao
im charge blade main and i learn something from this........thx man
That's awesome! No worries dude.
we learn something new every day when playing charge blade. I ignored using slugger and now I feel like a clown lol.
simple and cleat, thank you
That's the way that you're making me feel tonight 🎵
So satisfying
for xbox players, to do the charge sword: charge your shield, charge more vials BUT its right trigger+B> keep holding B and trigger then press Y> release B
There's actually an updated guide with xbox controls included. Check the link in the description 🙂
Thank you!
When I try to do the combo to boost the sword I keep doing a condensed spinning slash
You have to change the switch skill to condensed elemental slash 🙂
I think s2a morph gp is an honorable mention.
forward bug dash with a heavy can be an axe smash, not just a roundhouse. I guess on console its ZL+X, A
Thanks for the info! Thought I tested that and got nothing, but I must have messed up. Cheers!
Thanks brother
I feel like I've handicapped myself in every possible way as a beginner to monster hunter, charge blade is my first weapon and I play on Playstation so trying to translate these Nintendo controls is like rocket science I swear
Might be a bit late to say this but there's a video with translations in the description 😅
Me: translating to keyboard and mouse.
Great guide! Which monster is the easiest to practice getting shield and sword fully charged and smack them with a fat saed? 😂
Maybe try royal ludroth? He's got nice big body and predictable move
i dont have those buttons on xbox
I thought I was using this correctly. Turns out I was using around 20% of combos
what about axe mode switch skill??
5 minute guide, limited time, can't explain everything.
Dude can you do it in pc
I need explanation on PlayStation controller
I'm trying to convert my phials into my shield, bit I can't seem to do it.
do u have to attack then cancel or am I missing something?
edit: figured it out lol and btw how do u char the blade?
Gotta have a charged shield, then do the charge phials animation and hold down X. Your shield should compress and then release with a sword attack. Your sword will then be charged. Unless you have condensed spinning slash as your switch skill. Then it will be a spinning axe move
@@KingRobRool oh ok! Thx!
perfect
succinct
5min
👌
High praise! Thank you!
How do you make your sword and shield spin?
If you mean what I think you mean, there's a switch skill that unlocks after completing hub 2/village 3 that gives you the ability. It's the same input as charged sword attack. Let me know if that helps or if you are referring to roundhouse slash or something else.
I need the ps5 controller button inputs 😵💫
Check the video in the description
What armour are you using?
Layered bazel. And some random eye patch I can't remember what it's called lol
@@KingRobRool wow that was a fast reply thanks alot man
Just happened to be on my phone haha. No worries!
Gotta ask, is this series going to go into ranged weapons eventually? There's a real need for basic explainers for LBG/HBG/Bow 😄
And I hope you look forward to it 😁
@@KingRobRool it's the perfect complement IMO. Watch the short guide, play with the weapon a bit, watch the long guide.
Rise is my first Monster Hunter game and I think a lot of other people's as well, so I'm really starting from the ground here and can't take any knowledge for granted. 😄
That's awesome! I couldn't ask for a better result 🙂. That's why I'm making these after all.
I appreciate the guide, however I'm not sure why you are not covering axe hopper and spinning axe switch skills. I know those skills are generally not favoured but it could still help newbies.
Hi! If you're not familiar to my series you may not know that I intentionally leave out information about the weapons to be as concise as possible in 5 minutes. Here, in this guide I squeezed as much information as possible into 5 minutes, and I didn't even have time to do my usual intro at the start that explains this. TLDR; this guide is is a starting point, not be all end all.
@@KingRobRool ah I see. Yes I'm new to your channel so I didn't know. I was searching for CB guide, hoping that someone would cover more about axe hopper style, but it seems that not many are using it lol. Your guide is super helpful regardless, thanks.
You're welcome! I am using a axe hopper style paired with spinning axe atm funnily enough 😂 I find that simply using axe hopper into SAED (that's x+a) in replacement of just using regular SAED is a fine way to play. Does absolutely silly damage and contributes to mounts too 🙂. As long as you practice with the other fundamentals taught in this video, I'm sure you'll nail it in no time 😁
You forgot to talk about guard points, if it's still a thing
It's a thing. But not something I decided to include for a 5 minute video for beginners 😁
What console is this
Switch. But it available for all modern consoles and PC! I have a link in the description for other controller inputs 🙂
