- ET has confirmed Lisa Marie Presley's cause of death. The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner says Presley died from sequelae of small bowel obstruction, according to her autopsy report obtained by ET. The daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley died on Jan. 12. She was 54.

Yes it was obvious there was something very bad going on making her so thin. Its usually cancer or something when you lose alot weight without trying. Maybe they thought it was grief and not eating. Very sad

Lisa was always beautiful and a loving person just like Elvis. She didn’t have to lose weight or have anything fixed on her. She looked nice all the time. She looked amazing with a little bit of weight on her. She was never the same after her son died of suicide. Rest In Peace Lisa. 😞💜

Much like JFK Jr. the country claimed her as ours, in our hearts. Have to say, I’m relieved for her babies that she didn’t leave them because of her own doing. Much sympathy to her sweet little family. I hope she is resting in the presence of our Lord and listening to the angels sing.

This has happened to me on a few occasions the last one was 5 years ago and I was on the operating table on New Year’s Day. I almost didn’t make it but thank god for the surgeons they where fantastic, they near lost me on the table as I have a terminal lung disease which we where not aware of at the time, I do have a bowel disease which they knew about as I have had 3 separate surgeries to remove parts of the bowel. I know when my bowel is bad as the pain I suffer with it….

Just wondering why she didn't go to the doctor. Must have been in pain for months. Now that I'm in my 50s, every little pain or unusual I become concerned & if it persist a few days, i go to the doctor.

I think I remember the news saying that she had woken up the day of the awards with some stomach pain. I have also read that she was using some drastic diet pills and that in six weeks she had lost between 40 and 60 pounds because she wanted to look good for her father at the awards. Losing so much weight so quickly could not have been good for her either, the autopsy results said she had a therapeutic amount of opioids in her system, which I believe means she was not overdosing.

A bowel obstruction is extremely painful, she would have to have had opioid to controll the pain, too bad her mom didn't check on her condition, she could have survived..

Why on earth would a doctor perform a gastricbypass on her she wasn't fat. and thts what cause her bowel blockage
Lisamarie was very overweight a few years ago and elected to have bariatric surgery. Adhesions can develop after abdominal surgery and must have caused a kinking & strangulation of the small bowel. She may have had pain for days and just took pain pills to mask the pain. If she had been seen by a surgeon at a hospital when the pain began, she may have had lysis of the adhesions and the bowel freed up. Only God knows....but she's in God's hands now.
Taking opiates can cause constipation and I heard Elvis actually died in the bathroom at Graceland, 😢
Seeing her in public on her last days...it was very evident she was impaired.

Boy her cause of death reminds me of MauricGibb who died in 2003 of a twisted intestine and had complained about his stomach before he collapsed and passed away in 2003 and here’s the bizarre thing that he was only 53. I know his condition was hereditary and a few years later, Robin had to have surgery for the exact reason Maurice had. Sad part is that the twins developed this condition while their mother was pregnant with them and symptoms usually show up much earlier than what happened with Maurice and Robin. Lisa and Maurice’s condition ended their lives in cardiac arrest.

I thought this beloved girl had had a heart attack? This new report does explain her complaint of stomach pain. She needed to seek help but like a lot of us we just think and hope it'll go away. Rest in Peace Memphis Girl.
She went into cardiac arrest as a result of the small bowel obstruction. Cardiac arrest is not a hesrt attack. That's a different thing.

She lived on pain killers meds ! All that will definitely catch up with you and mess up your body she probably didn’t do any Dr. Visits am sure if they would’ve caught in time , she would still be alive .She was so young . But then again she was very depressed about losing her son .
Read the toxicology report. She was not living on pain killer meds. They did not contribute to her death.

it is terrible. way too soon. it shows don't get unnecessary surgery, even small risk is too much, I can Imagine she was stressed out, and nobody knows her emotional struggle, but it still shows, don't get surgery if your body doesn't need it, the natural route brings you health too. this went wrong...
I did notice she had a lot of swelling in her abdominal area. There's only so much you do do to camouflage that. To be honest, she probably didn't recognise the signs, and she was so caught up in the movie release, dramas with the ex and trying to stay afloat financially.
I almost lost my mom to the same thing, the hospital called it black gut……

@@Memow-pk1ng Nope. The two are totally unrelated. Chronic opioid addiction does cause constipation problems but that is not what killed Elvis. A heart attack killed Elvis.
Lisa Marie did not die from either problem. She had adhesions. Scar tissue from a previous surgery that strangled off the blood supply to her small bowel. She had a therapeutic (small)amount of opioid in her system and she was being monitored after a cosmetic procedure. She died of natural causes.

I'm a huge Elvis fan , and Lisa is legendary just because of her dad being Elvis, I am not being a downer yet a obstructed bowel (google) is often caused by excessive opiate use, I new a girl from high school that literally carried a colostomy bag on her side from years of 30mg oxygen use she died in her early 40s. Basically it means. Opiates jam up your ability to poop. Hence. "Obstructed bowel " and I only say all this because this is going on every single day across America, and Elvis and Lisa Marie obviously aren't exempt from what opiates will eventually do to you, DEATH
