Cool proof of concept man, could see in my younger years I would try something like this lol. Any tint shop will do a bang up job for 200$ or so. Keep it up man love your content here and at Texas Honda!
I find that cross pattern strokes leaves more imperfections in the surface. Obviously it’s a build up where there is more paint (tint spray) at the cross of the stroke, and less build up where there isn’t a cross stroke, if that makes any sense....

@@davidvaldez4904 I never changed any tips but there is no problem with changing the tips if you want to because it is actually a great idea I'm thinking 160 to 180 °but to be completely honest I sprayed the back window the same way I spray my tail lights and my headlights p now I must admit before I finish this detail I messed up at least 10 pair of headlights and tail lights from spraying tint Too heavy When you spray it you don't have to try to achieve the dark tint because when it dries it will dry so dark you can't even see your lights and people will be blowing their own at you And the trick is to spray and then get a really really really really really really really fine grit of sandpaper and lightly go over and then clear coat it I did everything on the outside
I think donut media tested this and im glad you tested it because they always seem to half-ass everything they try. Its like im watching drunk/stoners do car stuff on their channel. You do things seriously and put effort into it.
Oh really I never seen that on their channel interesting. Yea I remember the Dip your car one they did wrong on so many levels but to each their own I guess. I’m not perfect either but figured it was worth a test for sure

Man Ive gotta give this a shot on the rear hatch window of a foxbody mustang I recently got... One if the previous owners decided to glass etch a pentagram on the back window 🙄... I dont want that on my window,but unfortunately they did a really good job etching it. Ive tried sanding and buffing it, nothing even lightens it

That’s how you learn though. I have screwed so much up while learning and I’m still learning and I’m 31yrs old lol i won’t stop learning either. Always something new to learn.
@@JamesDguy same here, I've gotten 1000x better at painting since I was younger. Practice shows you what you're doing wrong and how to correct it, you're your worst critic, and I'm close to a perfectionist so things can get frustrating sometimes lol
not a fan of vht. i used vht high heat primer paint and clear on my valve cover. all 3 layers cracked immediately after i put it on the car. im not sure if it was the heat or if it was the pressure of tightening it on that cracked it. but i had the cover off for more than a month, maybe 2 months while i was rebuilding the cylinder head so i'm sure it was cured. after i got the old paint off, i scrubbed the hell out of it with high pressure water, degreaser and alcohol. i let it air dry for more than a day before i painted it. i following the timing instructions on the can. i had an issue in the past where i thought maybe i didn't mix it long enough so i shook those stupid cans for a really long time before i used them. it was a very warm day outside, im sure the paint and cover weren't cold. So I just don't trust the stuff. I couldn't have been more careful. i'm going with krylon/rustoleum next time.
@Billy Gibbs really well actually, I ended up selling the head & tail lights I used them on. If you take your time with everything no reason the product shouldn't come out looking great. 👌
I'm going to try tint the clear window on my 20 Rd drum for my semi auto shotty. It's really hard to find the factory one that comes tinted basically all the ones online have clear windows so other people can see how much ammo is left and I don't like that. I also don't want to paint it normally cuz it'll look too shiny or too matte black like it's ghetto rigged or homemade. This should work perfect for my application tho.
My car cost me £300 its no banger but I am more willing to spray my windows then buying Tint wrap or paying someone to do it lol. I might get a grey maybe incase black is to dark
I have the same issue with a fake attic window. Its hard to access and the inside film is peeling from the brutal daytime sun and heat. I was wondering if I could just spray paint it from the outside for asthetic look. Seeing the film peeling from the outside view doesn't look good.
You can see out perfectly fine I tested it even on camera. It’s hard to see on camera since I only have 2 arms and can’t hold the camera and window and show but during the day time for sure you can see: either way it was just a test lol 😂
In my country and state of texas 25% tint up front is legal and the rear can be 2% which is REALLY DARK but these windows I painted are probably around 20% tint if I was to guess not 100% tinted dark

Hi I have bought spray cans from eBay and wanted to try my car windows to get tinted but when I sprayed it 3 times on the rear small window from inside the car and looked horrible from inside and I couldn't see outside through that window the I cleaned it off and complained to the seller but he didn't believe me even I sent them the window photos. So please don't waste your money on these crap sprays.

Which side would you tint again to be dark from the outride be see out from the inside?
So, since it’s rated for outdoor use (tail lights), couldn’t you do it on the outside for a quick job, that could be removed quickly with acetone?
Yes with acetone comes right off I just did it inside so it looks better on the outside. Just a test anyways

yeah never done it out of cans but done plenty of times out of 20% black paint and 80% thinners just to tint

Seems like this is an option for motorcycle windscreens; you can't film tint them because they're plastic. Would this work on plastic?

Yeah I’m a huge rustoleum guy but nightshade works pretty decent

The right way to tint your windows is to actually get glass that is tinted from the factory
