Everything looks great! Deck looks new now. A tip: using a handheld small hatchet will make quick and beautiful work of edging and no sawing! Cuts through anything quick and smoothly. Couldn't live without one.

I am always amazed how good your knee joints are, and I guess it runs in the family since your older sister can sit on the floor with her knees bent back too! I've had both knees and one hip replaced due to osteoarthritis. I've had great success but I couldn't sit like that....maybe for a minute but not to be painting at the same time! I'd be helping with the painting though! Well done both of you! Everything looks wonderful! I'm sure Mike and Nikki were very happy with all you accomplished last week for them! :) ~M~

Oh, I love the seat belt thingy! At 5'2" I always feel as if the belt is strangling me. I didn't know such a gadget existed. I'll be ordering a set. Thanks for the tip! I awoke this morning at dawn to the sound of hot air balloons flying low above my house. Now, one might think hot air balloons are silent. They are not. There's a gas blower that heats the air inside of the balloon so the balloon ascends. They launched from about a mile away and were still trying to get altitude so using the blowers. I don't know how many there were in total, but there were quite a few. This is the weekend of our Balloon Fest, beginning with the sunrise launch this morning. When I was a kid, 60 some years ago, the Balloon Festival in town was held downtown and celebrated our rubber factories which made toy balloons and balls and other items. We were once known as the Balloon Capital of the World because of the factories. Now the rubber and latex factories are all gone. Torn down and leveled. So to continue the balloon tradition, they began the Balloon Fest instead many years ago. It started out small in the beginning with just a few hot air balloons participating but has grown quite large over the years. There is a huge sprawling brick home, built over a century ago, that used to be the Children's Home for orphaned kids or kids whose parents were deemed unfit and neglectful. Originally it belonged to a wealthy widow who donated it for use as a home for kids without parents. It's no longer used to house kids anymore. The city owns it now. It sits at the edge of town with several acres of open field behind it. There used to be a horse barn on the property and when I was a teen I would go out there with friends to exercise and groom the horses. No saddles. Had to ride bareback but we at least had halters and bits for each horse. Horses are gone, the barn is torn down, and a visitor's center is built in its place. All weekend there will be balloon launches, balloon rides, and after-dark balloon glows, as well as parades, and other activities. The balloon glow is pretty cool. The balloons stay tethered and float several feet above the ground but glow like candles when the operators fire the gas blowers. In the darkness, it looks amazing. In prior years the balloons couldn't launch because of inclement weather. So far, so good this weekend but that can change. Wow, that deck looks great! The sidewalk edging looks great. That hydrangea is gorgeous and I also spotted a weeping red Japanese maple along the deck. Those little trees are so beautiful! Your hard work definitely paid off. Enjoy a rest now and I'll see you next time!

I have a very similar seatbelt thingy, I love it. Now I’m no longer getting choked by the seatbelt. Margaret, you never stop glad to hear you’re taking the afternoon off. You did a great job. The kids are gonna be so excited.
When we moved from Eastern Pennsylvania to the Mid-West (Indiana/Ohio) we have tornado watches and warnings all the time. In April 2020 our place was actually hit by a tornado, over 25 trees came down on our property as well as one tree coming through my roof. No one hurt, that's what matters. The deck looks really nice. You have been working so hard you deserve a rest.

Had a birthday 6/27 and my son took me to breakfast and daughter took me to dinner and this Sunday yes we as a family everyone are going to dinner. Talk about a piggy oh well tuning 82 and don’t feel any older 40 and thank God I only take two little pills. Hopefully I will stay healthy the rest of my life.

I spent the day wondering why I didn't flush my late husband's ashes down the toilet like I wanted to. I may have mentioned this before. I have a septic tank. My one regret in life!
The other thing I was pondering was how cute the delivery guys are getting. Mostly. I don't remember them being so cute when I was their age. Then again, that was before deliveries, wasn't it? Rotary dial phones, no answering machines, busy signals. I've come a long way, baby!

Actually, the potato chip binge is about to end. I'm developing anxiety as well as palpitations when I think about it. But, all good (or bad) things must come to an end.
I believe I've got it out of my system. I'm going to try to behave now and stick to my diet. Throw in a fasting day or two. Maybe even exercise a little. Maybe not. That's pushing it. We'll see.
