Excellent video. I had to laugh when you brought up the training. A friend brought his dog to a trainer, and the trainer was like "I could train your dog in an afternoon, it's the humans who take forever to train..." I adopted a Rottweiler mix in November 2020 from a shelter, my first dog as an adult. He was a rescue brought up to MA from TN. Best decision I've ever made. I did a meet and greet with him(strongly suggest this), and I could have taken him home that day, but knew I needed to think about the commitment(also strongly suggested). I took a night to sleep on in, and think about all the changes I needed to make (toys, bed, crate, food, etc.) Woke up the next day wishing he was here. So I made the call to adopt. Things were not perfect out of the gate. He had been in the shelter system for so long he kept trying to run away. After about 2 months, I stopped making him sleep in his crate (door was left open). About a month after that, I found him sleeping next to me on my bed. Since then he hasn't tried to run away.
I have went through 2 dogs all my life. My recent one passing 2 years ago at age of 13. my 1st at age 16. I'd like to say this was really well educational well informed intro Mayuko. I know when I move out next year I'm definitely going to adopt another dog for sure. :)
Video comes to a perfect time. My aunt found two puppies at two weeks in a basket next to a bin on the street (people are disgusting!). One of them I will take care of when they are old enough in a few weeks.
Excellent video. Could you please do a video on your tshirts(where do you buy them), haircare, skin care routine? I like your simple style and It would really help me shop since I recently moved to US.
Love this video. Wanna see "a day in my (=your) life with your dogs" or "a day in dog's (=Kona & Ellie's) life" in the future...of course featuring Beni.
another question would be the difference in raising a dog in a single-person household vs a couple or family. I would imagine that workload would be much more if you were single. I would love a dog but as a single person, I believe that dogs need more than one person, otherwise they would be sad and bored if I wasn't home or had to be away for work.
Hi! What activities have you done with your dogs outside of the normal routine like any hiking or walks in the city? I'd love to see some dog vlogs in the mix! I did want to put it out there for others that see this: not all dogs are a friendly dog. They're just like people in a way of having different personalities. I've been blessed with an extrovert and a little nervous introvert. If you see a dog reacting / barking please ignore (plus patches / signs)! or if you see dogs in training please ignore as well ☺🥰 I totally agree with you that dogs are a huge commitment. Be prepared for a lifestyle change.
My family have had two dogs for a while (1 is 11 years, and the other is 12 months). They are both poodles. My parents have been feeding them Iams dry dog food, but I want a higher quality recommendation if you guys have any? Please let me know!
Hi Mayuko! Thanks for the video. This is very timely, for me. We are adopting a cocker spaniel puppy at the end of August. I paid attention to how you described potty training Kona and Ellie. Any particular treats you recommend?
We tried a bunch of different kinds! Obv starting with the healthiest & cost effective for us (we usually start at the small Training Treats like Zuke’s) and then working our way up towards things like dried liver & cheese bits if they stop caring and responding to the ones we were giving them! Also some dogs respond better to playing, a squeaker, or even water as a reward so definitely depends on the dog!
Not sure if it's fate or what, but I seem to have found your channel at a unique time in my life. I'm thinking about changing careers at age 33, *and* adopting a dog for my family. Coincidence? I don't know! Ha!
What mix is Kona? He looks like my last dog. I always wanted to get her DNA tested to see what breed (to the degree of accuracy those things are) she was, but never did before she died.

This comes at a good time. I’m looking into getting a little chubby bulldog. I come for the tech aspect but appreciate this as well!
I'm boarding dogs on my 1 acre ranch for extra cash. This video helped me with some additional info! What a great vid!
This came just in time since I'm adopting soon

Hi. Great video. I'm also in San Diego and am considering rescuing a dog. If you adopted here in San Diego, which organization did you adopt from?
