Larry Miller chats about how a classically trained musician became a stand-up comedian in the 1970’s of New York, as well as an actor in over 40 films.
He went to my high school. And came to visit. Seemed like it would be a very tough room. Being in a high school gymnasium with mostly kids that I assume didn’t even know who he was. He won the room over fast and was funny.
Larry is one of the funniest men on the planet, got a chance to hang with him after a show in West Palm, so genuine...and thanks for mentioning King of Prussia LOL
Agreeing with you but just getting this out of my system. Saying that they set him on fire is weird in the first place. How did the "prank" ever be that they set him on fire? (Fire can cause real damage - is very scary to most people if uncontrolled.) Okay, a real Mr. Cooper died. Sad. But he died in a fire, and the joke is that they set "Mr. Cooper" on fire. Wow.
It was Nixon who put the bowling alley in the Whitehouse. This was used to comic effect in Werewolf of Washington in 1974, I think, the precursor to An American Werewolf in London.
I stand corrected: John Smith 4 months ago The current bowling alley in the White House was Nixons idea. There was one earlier from Truman but apparently was moved.
Jamie,@5:08 looks so better better with that hair than that hulk frightwig she sports today. Another old KPCS show republished as new, I guess? Them numbers for the shows must mean something
Yo, I'm halfway through the interview, but I believe it was Colombo and Christopher Walken? If I remember right. KP is the man for those two impressions, watch him do the Columbo eyes on stage! : )
President Truman inaugurates White House bowling alley President Harry S. Truman officially opens the first White House bowling alley on April 25, 1947. The two-lane bowling alley, situated in the West Wing, had been constructed earlier that year.
The bowling alley was built by Nixon the basement(?) that was there long before that. Nixon bowling? If that was all he did, maybe he would’ve been OK.
Saw Larry Miller live twice. Some of the best stand up ever.
Larry Miller is the heterosexual Fred Willard
I love Larry. Wish we'd see more of him -- on TV, in films, etc.

That O'Toole impression... on the floor... awesome!

Larry's Mr. Cooper story nearly killed me! I'm still laughing.

A splendid episode.
OMG Larry's bartender story had me nearly in tears!:)
17:55 to get to the guest.
Very good episode, loved the rapport and discussion.
Larry is very underrated. His doorman on Seinfeld was perfect.
I Disagree, Bigly

Great interview
Laugh out loud funny chat with Mr. Miller. "Bells of St. Mary" on the wine glasses. Not a bartender. "Opera for people who go the McDonald's."
Larry Miller was perfect in Boston Legal.
I stand corrected:

60,000 acres in Texas is a patch of land.
Best in Show anyone ?
18 min for Larry
I forgot about this guy
Shoot, I can't tell who the excellent KP is imitating when he tells the opening joke. Can someone remind me, please?

Is this interview from before or after the accident.

The intro is excruciating
You should hear how Norm told it
You think you're better than me?
He sure messed up that joke. At least the way I heard it I thought it was funnier.
Cosa Nostra, eh?
Norm McDonald told it better.
