Switching the K02’s to the Yokohama geolanders 015’s was a game changer. Made the car ride even better, it’s quieter and the braking grip is hugely improved. Much more compliant in wet conditions as well. sure the K02’s are much better off road but shouldn’t be factory fitted in my opinion
Yep, all down to the tyres. But it's hard to confirm if it would be better than all twin-cab rivals - the Raptor features the same size brakes as the regular Ranger models.
Can't wait for this to hit the USA. love the review. I will be trading my 22F150-TREMOR for this. I don't need a full size truck for work and this will be around $55K US . about $20K less than an equal F150. the 3.0 is awesome

In the “bads” … #5 is to be expected. Payload/towing capacities are set by the working horse in the vehicle lineup. Usually these are the strip out models, leaf springs, lightest configuration. When you add weight from strengthening components to endure off roading, change the tires for off roading performance, and remove the leaf springs again for better suspension travel/off roading… you are going to have compromises… and those are you will lose payload/towing capacity and the tires won’t help with on road grip.
Finally getting the Raptor in the US! This is a great video to help us know what to be on the look out for. I just ordered mine and I can't wait to compare pro’s and con’s to the Aussie versions.
FYI: BF Goodrich is about to release an update to their AT … allegedly because of its poor emergency stopping performance. Totally agree with the exhaust sound … shame they did not work with Borla and get a tuned length system in there to reduce the exhaust pluses crashing together from either V bank.
@@JonGlez978 there was one “journalist” that suggested Ford may have put pressure on BF to produce a better tyre … others say it’s because Falken has become very popular:

A comparison to the new Amarok TSI aventura would be good. Seems to have similar advantages without a few of the disadvantages. Definitely more subtle and still 3.5t towing with good payload.
@drivingenthusiastaustralia no problem, just wated to be sure. I'm considering purchasing one here in the states. Either this vehicle or the new tacoma trd pro
@@DrewVerdin Yeah I tend to say the year we're currently in during conversation, even though the vehicle might be model year 24 or whatever. I'll work on fixing that during talking to camera. Nice! Hate to rain on the parade, but there was a recent recall (again) on these due to rough idling engines...Some of which had to be replaced under warranty.
Funny how many of your negatives are why I want it. For me (my negatives), it should have ventilated seats, A/C vents in the back seats, steps to reach the bed, options to get more towing capacity, much more power for the inverter, and factory options for winch, lights, canopy, etc. Most of those items I can fix. The ventilated seats and A/C (at least in the USA) is not acceptible. Oh, yeah, I also hate the running boards. Offer it without them, so buyers can get something nicer. Really bad choice.
9. Sound is subjective. It’s way better than the 4 cylinder/diesel snoozefest that comes out of most shitbox trucks in the segment. 8. Oh come on. This is the most nit-picky malarkey on planet Earth. Unless you show up to a funeral in a straight piped, muffler deleted supercar, nobody will care. Hell, they will probably think you’re cool if you drive something like this to an interview. Not too flashy, but flashy enough to leave a good first impression. 7. No owner of this truck will give a damn about fuel economy. 6. Big truck + tiny wheels (no space for brake rotors) + all-terrains = less braking performance. Not a surprise and most people adjust for this shortcoming anyway by slapping on all-seasons. If you can afford a high performance truck, you can afford to swap tires for each use case. 5. Payload of 1400 isn’t bad compared to other off-road focused vehicles. 3. Just set the suspension to comfort instead of Baja. Baja doesn’t make the shocks softer, it makes them stronger so you don’t hit the bump stops on a jump. 2. Again, way better than the rest of the segment. Sync 4 > every other truck software and you are the only person who thinks Volkswagen makes a good infotainment system. 1. This is the same as number 8. You just said it differently.
at the engine level I agree he could have taken care of the layout and the design at the personal screen level I find it a big progress even for me he could have put original hood jacks and seals also we find them as accessories by against the wheels not great identical to the previous version the worst is the two out of stainless steel exhaust brush it's awful

@@drivingenthusiastaustralia Ive got one and think its well over priced for what you get. Well, you can compare apples to oranges. Oranges have more vit C but apples are less acidic. In this case, if torque is your top priority then the diesels offer more. No need to attach emotion to it. It’s just an observation. Raptor kills it with power though 💪
Torque is just power at low rpm. Diesels produce all their power between say 2 and 4K so it makes them feel very torqy whereas the petrol engine spans a bigger rev range and because it spins faster it makes more power

Interesting. Thanks for the advice.
The geolander 015's are a great tyre. I personally find them the best compromise for 90% tarmac and 10% offroad.
Extra breaking distance is a tyre issue. Put road tyres on and it would be better then most if not all twin cabs
