    Hi. What is the temperature that you set on the hitting gun?? Non of this videos ever shows or says it. I figure it has to be from 90 to maybe 120 to be safe not to burn LCD. But just want to verify.
    And what is the maximum heat that could be apply to the screen?

    When reassembling, do the top and bottom front housing require additional adhesive? Does removing them take away from the adhesion later on? Should I purchase backups just in case? I'm replacing the back housing and camera lens. So I don't think it will be too difficult. I just want to ensure that I do it right.

    Thanks for the video. Followed part one and part two and got my screen fixed. Having a couple issues caused by myself, got a little dust in between the LCD and glass. I think I can fix that. Little bit of light leakage or if the bottom, probably because I may not have used enough tape or somethings but all the way down. Not overly concerned enough to pull the phone back apart. And finally having an issue with the SIM card slot not going back in correctly. Probably an easy fix I'll look into later. All in all nine if my issues were caused by you. Great video way to follow and good instructions. Thank you.

    My M8 glass has no cracks or fractures... yet I've been slowly losing more and more functionality in my digitizer over the last 3 weeks. First it was just a thin strip along the top where it was not registering touch... then more... and now along the bottom of my screen. Is it possible the ribbon inside has just become lose? (and I just need to get in there and tighten the connection?) Thanks for any insight.

    • @drio420
      @drio420 10 років тому

      Answered my own question there.... it was indeed the screen. I tried re-seating the original cable a few times with no change. Plugged in the replacement and it worked. Thanks for the thorough tutorial.

    when buying a LCD + Digitizer does model count for example if i have an m8 Tmobile do i have to but one that is specifically made for tmobile?

    • @How2Tech
      @How2Tech  9 років тому +1

      Brian Smith normally GSM (tmobile, att) fit each other and CDMA (sprint, verizon) fit each other, but there are some specific phones that do not. This phone I don't believe it matters unless you are buying it with the mid frame.

    Hello, a quick question, my HTC one m8 screen suddenly got an uniform white hue, I mean I can still use it, but it's like the contrast went nuts(it's not a brightness adjustment issue), do you think I could fix the problem by replacing the screen?

    I just got a screen and lcd replaced by so phone doctors and now the on screen keyboard is messed up, when you try to press the letter A the letter Q appears in stead, and its like that with a few letters, is that a messed up screen/lcd that they put on or is it something they didnt plug in all the way? can you please let me know so that I can tell the technicians before they start giving me excuses, thank you very much, great video by the way

      Hi. You can try this: Try going into "Settings" second from bottom should be " for developers"(Be careful in there :) ). There second from bottom should be "show pointer" or "show cursor". If you turn that on, there will be visual indicator when you'll touch the screen. This way you can find out if there is something with the screen.
      If it's ok you can try recalibrating your keyboard using this guide : androidwidgetcenter.com/android-tips/how-to-calibrate-finger-touch-on-htc-one/
      Good luck with your problem :)

    • @meekeedutsa

      +meekeedutsa Omg br i had the same problem. i gave it to local shop to fix. I bought a lcd screen from ebay just to be safe. i had a weird feeling they may be bit shady but it didnt bother me to much. When they fixed the phone the (lcd cracked by the way) it looked perfect but there was so much fucking shit going on with the touch recognition. For example whenever im typing it goes to the home screen the top screen doesnt even fucking respond!

    • @MXGGRIMZ
      @MXGGRIMZ 8 років тому

      +mmnm8878 i turned the pointer thing on but how can i look for any fucnction problems? for me the problem is when i press the space bar it takes me to the home screen or when i go to youtube and click the top right corner to search something it doesnt let me???

    i have an htc one m8 and it got runover by a car. the screen completely shattered. i opened it up and it the inside is perfectly fine. i was wondering if the screen doesnt turn on is it the lcd that broke or the phone. i charged the phone and it still shows me the led for charging

    • @How2Tech
      @How2Tech  9 років тому

      Hasnain Sheikh Honestly it could be both....if the board flexed a lot it could have damaged the internal video but most likely it is the lcd based o you description.

    • @jaded_
      @jaded_ 8 років тому +1

      +Ben Newey No! Still doesn't work. I don't think it has anything to do with the work that I I did to the phone. I've done many things to try to correct the problem

    • @simply_donatto
      @simply_donatto 7 років тому

      One of GPS pins from antenna is lowered down to much. Search on motherboard for GPS antenna and gently pull up the pin connector. In most cases, when phone is having trouble with poor GPS, WiFi and main antenna signal solution is in those pin connectors.

    • @jaded_
      @jaded_ 7 років тому

      +Donato Dekleva Thank you for the suggestion to realign the antenna contacts. unfortunately that was something I checked on two different occasions. Still doesn't work. I plan to replace this phone very soon. Thanks again for your suggestion.

    • @simply_donatto
      @simply_donatto 7 років тому

      Jaded, have you tried with one simple old school hack? Inside of housing, where gps pins are touching antenna plate, put some Small bit of aluminium foil and check if that helps. Fold the foil 2-4 times, depends how thick it needs to be to fill that gap between antenna plate and pin connector. That helped in my old HTC One X. And of course, you're welcome :)

    I have fixed many M8 phones, last night I had a problem and wanted to share to hopefully save someone the 3 hours that I spent figuring it out. New digitizer working fine until I put back on then flickering and going off all together. So I did the obvious, checked connections over and over and over, had to be short or bad connection right? No. Finally unplugged the battery and plugged back in and perfection. I hope this helps someone.

      +Todd Green my htc m8 works perfectly fine when it's connected to the charging cable, but as soon as I unplug it and try to unlock it, it turns off, showing battery charge of 0%. When I connect it again to charge, battery life jumps to 100% again. Could you tell me what you think? Should I try to replace the battery?

    Don't use heat guns on repairs for phones, it's easy to burn the LCD use a hair dryer they are more tolerant and less reactive to the LCD

    • @How2Tech
      @How2Tech  10 років тому

      Aman Smith I prefer heat guns the work faster. Some displays need a lot of heat to remove like the xperia phones. Just don't heat the lcd to over 185-190 and you will be fine.

      Nasipali Harun you can replace glass only and it is almost identical to the htc m7. ua-cam.com/video/j34XNHdn_SE/v-deo.html watch this video to see how it is done. It is difficult so please be careful if you are going to attempt.
