Years ago I read an article in a UK sport bike magazine about how a group of motorcycle owners got together to deal with the thieves. They put a motorcycle out in the open and then waited nearby in a van. As soon as someone tried to steal it, they would drive up and pull the thief into the van and drive off with him. They beat him really severely, including with tools and completely destroyed his hands with the tools. Then they told him “tell your thief friends that this could happen to too as they will never know which bike is being watched and which one isn’t” (along those lines). Then they tossed him out of the van. I don’t remember if it said if they stopped or not when they tossed him. At least one thief won’t be stealing again.

Speeding tickets are handed out to keep the roads clear of dummies that are potential threats to themselves and others, if they hit a gravel patch they're going airborn and losing contact with the ground and crashing into head on cars/objects, then the police/fire dep. have to scrape up and power wash the streets from blood and guts, try being in there place, ain't so easy is it?

I had a bike stolen from me a while ago. I told the police the next day and they go "oh yeah, this sorta thing happens all the time. There's no guarantee it'll ever be found though." And I'm like, it wouldn't happen as often if you dealt with theft as a serious issue... It was my pride and joy. I looked for it everywhere and I never found it.

They have a bunch of stolen bikes cliches and it's not as important as homicides, suicides, and search cases. Oh and did I mention stolen bikes being a reoccurring problem. By the time you check your garage and see that bike is gone, they're already out of town, and then police department doesnt want to waste reliable resources and transferring cases to other counties even states and wasting time searching a dinky bike that was carelessly watched and guarded. Maybe they(Government)should raise the pay rate for these law enforcers, instead of using $300,000 on suits and ties.so complain to our government and see how they take your suggestion into consideration. Yes. My brother in law saw his Kawasaki 750 being stolen from his garage by kids. Whilst this was happening he called the police, the station is about 1 mile away from his house, the police said there was nothing they could do and if he went out and touched or hit the kids in any way he'd be arrested! That's British law for you.

Had my bike stolen, not long ago, E bike £5000. All I got was a crime number never seen the bike again wasn’t insured so no good to me

I knew the police wouldn't do anything unless it belonged to a cop, so I put in a massive around the clock effort producing and distributing hundreds of pamphlets, there was hardly a telegraph pole in the area without a reward poster on it and I had tons of information about sightings coming in and in the end I was actually following my own tyre tracks and had it back 48 hours after it was stolen
I videoed the recovery from one of the thieves, I believe there were more than one involved, and gave a copy of the video to the police together with the same thief's address where the bike had been
The cops went to the wrong address and told me "they all look alike"
