Dthrow-uair-footstool is one of my favorites, it's so easy to set up but you convert so much off of it! Great vid, I'll be sure to start trying nair1-footstools too
Always been a Falcon main, and great video! A couple things I want to add to try to help people trying to pick up Falcon: - Falcon Kick actually works pretty well as a mixup option in the neutral. It will always catch roll backs and can beat out some aerial approaches. Since people don't see it often, they'll usually try punishing it with an aerial, especially in the case of a roll back, not realizing that you have time to shield/powershield it, which gives you another grab. (I also feel like Falcon Kick would be absolutely terrifying if you could jump cancel it on the ground) - At around 30-60%, Down Throw -> Up Air -> Footstool -> Dair is an actually combo that leads into a spike. I haven't seen anyone else use it before, so I have dubbed it the Cap Combo.
I feel like you should also add that after 30% dthrow has enough KB such that opponent DI actually mixes up whether to nair or up air follow up, but really solid guide! RAR up air on the legs swinging down @100% connects true into bair, a lowkey kill option/setup, but no one really knows of it...
Awesome guide ! I'd add : Fastfall UpAir to Short hop auto cancelled Nair to UpAir to Knee. It works around 40-45% on Bowser. And gentleman jab to dashgrab aginst almost any character but fastfallers, who will be able to tech.
dude yessss ive been a falcon main for about a year and some change now. I don't play competitive so never knew a lot of these moves. thank you sooo much!!!
good shit, I never really thought of just getting into a training lobby to actually practice, I just go against lv9's, though I've already seen the issue with those
Falcon is my friendlies main - he's super fun, perfectly balanced, and stylish as fuck. Best feeling ever when you get the classic Dthrow -> Uair -> read airdodge -> Knee kill XD
Flicking would actually be too fast. Keep your tumb on the stick! My advice would be to memorize the rythmic sound your stick makes when done properly. :)
I sometimes do a Dthrow followed by a reverse Falcon Punch, if the opponent is at low % and shields it will do a lot of shield presure (i did that to my friend twice and broke his shield, he was so mad and i was laughing so hard), but it is at 60% or more its a kill confirm
Let's you want to RaR Bair going from left to right. Your inputs would be Run right, hold left, Jump, Hold right, Flick c-stick to the right (or A-Right) Note that steps 2-3-4 are done as fast as possible. hope this helps!
I meant a turnaround attack, as in maintaining momentum/direction while turning around to attack. These can be done with only moves that use the B button, like Shadow Ball or Plasma Whip. Sorry, should have been more specific. Also, what does RaR stand for?
Reverse Aerial Rush. You are referring to B-reversing, which requires you to input the direction you want to use your special in FIRST, then the desired special. So if you are facing left and moving to the right when you jump with luigi, input RIGHT and THEN the B button to keep your momentum to the right and throwing a fireball to the right. You are likely pressing the B button FIRST, then inputting the other direction, which causes a wavebounce in which your entire momentum gets reversed along with the direction of the special. This has its uses as well, but it's important to know how to use both.
If anyone didn't already know that, they don't deserve to be picking up Falcon in the first place, so this guide assumes that you're at least cultured.
word. there isn't really a name for the thing you called stutter step. it's just a foxtrot cancelled by a foxtrot. that's why some people call extended dash dancing "foxtrot cancels" or "foxtrot cancelling". a stutter step is where you cancel a foxtrot into an Fsmash. "stutter step Fsmash". it gives the fsmash a little more length going forward.
I love how all the captain Falcon videos come out when I decide to drop the character lol
Good video tho
dropping him doesn't mean you can't pick him every now and then for fun and f*ck shit up! :D
LoulouXz Smash 😂 your right
NOVA- X same I just moved my main to Ganondorf
Is it possible to get more guides like this and your ZSS one? Your guides are to the point and very easy to understand. Excellent job sir.
Dthrow-uair-footstool is one of my favorites, it's so easy to set up but you convert so much off of it! Great vid, I'll be sure to start trying nair1-footstools too
Best Falcon Tutorial ever made

Shieldlesscap I use that footstool combo ;) lol
Anthony Dargan ;-;
I only have 3ds man ;(
Anthony Dargan Press F to pay respects. You getting Smash 5 when it comes out on the Switch?
Yeah probably
wow crazy how much your production improved lol, i met you online a couple months ago on forglory and you told me to check up your channel. nice work.
thanks man, that comment means a lot!
I just picked up the character last week and this guide is great.
Thank you! The guide is meant for people like you!

Appreciate you taking the time to make this! Best guide I've seen
dude yessss ive been a falcon main for about a year and some change now. I don't play competitive so never knew a lot of these moves. thank you sooo much!!!
its crazy this channel isn't huge like wtf great content
I've learnt so much from this thank you so much!
A nice falcon guide AND Fire Field playing in the background? 👌
Hope you read the description! Inspired by the one and only!
1: taunt
2: run
3: grab
4: down throw
5: neutral and/or up air(s)
6: bait an air dodge
7: knee
Dumbest Falcon kill setup: Dthrow at ledge -> read panic airdodge -> read panic jump out -> footstool. I did this to my brother once at 0% XD
Sounds dumb! Haha
At 0% you can just dair into footstool which makes reading the jump unnecessary
-Listens the music playing, instantly gives a big like*
Step 1: LRA + Start
Step 2: Unplug WiiU
Step 3: Plug in GameCube
Step 4: Insert Melee
Step 5: Pick Fox
This guide has been brought to you by Hax$
NOICE best comment ever :v
NOICE you forgot setup Boxx

Not sure if I missed it but you can do Bair>up air stuff too so that's pretty nice
you just earned a sub, great video!
What is the best method of dash dancing, flicking, or just fast movement of your thumb
Flicking would actually be too fast. Keep your tumb on the stick! My advice would be to memorize the rythmic sound your stick makes when done properly. :)
Pretty good video! one thing to point out though, Falcon's jab is actually frame 3.
oops... must have been a typo. Thanks for pointing it out!
LoulouXz Smash No problem!
Wow great video! Do most of these combos work on Little Mac?
I sometimes do a Dthrow followed by a reverse Falcon Punch, if the opponent is at low % and shields it will do a lot of shield presure (i did that to my friend twice and broke his shield, he was so mad and i was laughing so hard), but it is at 60% or more its a kill confirm
that music is from the last sonic game which was actually good. :(
This video is killer
Really good tutorial, this should be shown to melee elitists who say sm4sh has no depth .
My weaknesses are killing and movement. Thanks for the help
Dash grab, D-throw, Footstool, D-air.
You're welcome
I wish I learned these fundamentals during highschool. Now I’m in college with two jobs arggg
Could D-Throw, Bair work at mid %?
Really good
hey nice Video
how Do u upair After ur downthrows so fast ( with c stick or regular ) or du u use the Double sticking tech
Jump with a shoulder button, uair with cstick set on attack :)
Awesome guide!
Trying to RAR is tough for me because I end up reversing momentum instead. I know how to do both but it's still hard. Help?
Let's you want to RaR Bair going from left to right. Your inputs would be
Run right, hold left, Jump, Hold right, Flick c-stick to the right (or A-Right)

Thanks, I'll be sure to practice
I can do it now, thanks!
Can you do a 5 steps to improve your Corrin?
what is the specific thumbstick gesture for stutter steps
mike462727 *Foxtrox
Tap the joystick *Hard* in one direction very slightly
Very simple to wacht, difficult to do
Very good guide :)
any info on a good way to improve thumb speed.
just keep practicing it bro
Very very good guide!
What do I do if its against luigi and anytime we get airborne he presses A?
Remove Melee from your GameCube and go back to Smash 4. Problem solved.
Shield and punish. Against floaties you wanna catch their landings
Bad guide. Didnt even say that you always mutual down taunt in falcon dittos.
its a rule
If anyone didn't already know that, they don't deserve to be picking up Falcon in the first place, so this guide assumes that you're at least cultured.
No one has realized he's using themes from Sonic Adventure 2?
Thx bro i might learn alot today... It make me feel happy... I can now beat the hell out of my dad lol.
Are footstools really this powerful?
Recommend in 2021?!?
thanks but didnt understand the smash terms sorry im new to smash
thats not what a stutter step is buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut
good guide anyway
i actually asked everybody what it was. People said "single dash dances" "moonwalks" "stutter step". Ah well, i hope the point goes through :/
the name doesn't matter anyway don't listen to sheep
word. there isn't really a name for the thing you called stutter step. it's just a foxtrot cancelled by a foxtrot. that's why some people call extended dash dancing "foxtrot cancels" or "foxtrot cancelling".

you definitely got the point across though. no worries there. i don't know of any guide that really taught people it so good on ya.
