  • One of the FASTEST growing towns in Florida, due to it's affordability, amazing weather and LOW CRIME. People will tell you all types of lies about this place, how its bad and so on but this is the REAL DEAL on this Florida town. It's a boring place, but crime is low and housing is affordable. There are no beaches, but its less than an hours drive to some really nice ones, not like you are going to be on the beach daily.

Lived there 10 years. Rent is super high, there’s nothing to do ( you need to drive to Sarasota or Fort Myers) for fun and the jobs paid squat when I was there. You needed two or three incomes to be able to have a decent life. The minimum wage wasn’t $15.00 an hour back then. Glad they changed that

Lived in the same house in Port Charlotte for 35 years. Never had a problem ! Just because you have an older home don’t make you bad. All of that was not easy street areas all around. Your near the hospital that’s why the sirens. Both hospitals are down the road. Block and stucco homes.

A great place to live as long as you don’t need healthcare! We have three for profit hospitals that generate a sucking sound while the money comes out your wallet. They are marginal at best. With West Port now adding to bloat the population and no plans for a major health center to be brought in to the community, if you come here be YOUNG and HEALTHY because if you get sick you will be in trouble. My own doctor told me that for a procedure I need to have done (elective) look for a surgeon in Sarasota or further north. During season the traffic is becoming brutal...we are becoming like the east coast - not why we moved here- we came here to get out of society. We hate snowbirds...so just send your money!

I'm from Michigan originally I said the same thing when I saw that whole area over by Easy St. but it filled with drugs in that area. Only thing Easy about it is maybe going to jail. If you plan on buying a house don't live there. At best it's rental property that's if you can get good tenants in there that'll pay and not destroy your investment FR. Things aren't always as they look bro, trust me, been living here in Port Charlotte now almost 7 yrs.

Technically the beginning aerial shot of the unfinished Sun Seeker Resort is in Charlotte Harbor. Pt Charlotte actually begins about North on Rt. 41 (Tamiami Trail). Allegiant Airline stop construction a year ago. They are currently looking for a buyer to pick up the pieces. It said that it would only work as a Casino with a Grand Hotel, condo towers with 17 bars and Resturants. IF they build it will you come? The county has spent millions on it now and planned to spend alot more than Allegiant!
