Hi Naffy, thanks for your video. I can't really comment because I'm even more of a beginner than you. I have a bunch of roses that I've planted none of which are even a year old, almost all David Austins planted bare root last Fall and winter and they are doing poorly in the heat here in Burgundy, France. I'm looking forward to what other rosarians say about this. My Poet's Wife is flowering well but its leaves are so covered in black spot that it makes me sick. The blooms on all the roses barely last 24 hours. It is very discouraging.
Thanks for commenting, I believe the key might be done afternoon shade especially for really hot days; this can be easily achieved with container grown plants. I have heard of instances where shade cloths are used😅🤗
Your garden was certainly looking very beautiful when you made this video - I hope you didn't suffer too much later in the summer. I am thinking about buying an Amadeus, although it does generally seem to be an expensive purchase at the moment, even if you buy abroad. It certainly looks strikingly attractive in your video. I am planning to put some climbers on a south-facing fence. I would prefer a fragrant red, but I do want the same sort of colour impact that Amadeus gives. It seems strange now to see your concern about heat waves after two (or three?) months of what has seemed like non-stop rain! Anyway, thanks for the informative video, which has given me food for thought.
