Gary - As a new-to-Apple user, I get more useful tips and information from you than any other channel I subscribe to. I’ve used your ideas numerous times. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you, Gary! Keynote is my favourite Apple app. (It’s great for creating graphics for websites, too.) This technique you’ve shown us is brilliant, and would also ensure we’d never lose a transition style when Apple retires some of them. One of the things I use Keynote for is presentations, and I reuse those same files for different audiences. When Keynote was updated dramatically a few years ago, I had to redesign 16 transitions for one presentation alone! But it’s a fabulous app, and really wows audiences. I’ve also used Keynote transitions on UA-cam videos in iMovie.
You, Sir, are a wizard!😍I love the fact that you press so much out of the stock apps and give users of every level an impulse to make the most out of their well-paid gear👏🏻
Hello Gary, I'm from France and I would like to thank you for all yours tips about using a Mac in general, and special tips like Numbers, Pages, etc... I didn't find the same style of channel in french. Anyway I learnt a lot thanks to you !
That was unbelievably helpful. Thank you so much! I continue to use Imovie due to its simplicity (I don't need anything complex) and bc it's free... but really wanted to level up my effects. This will help SO much! Thanks!!
Hi Gary, I've actually applied all your suggestions here and am so thankful that I found your channel! I've done the export to movie and with transparent background already and it works well! However, i've noticed lately that I can't find the "Export with transparent backgrounds" anymore. I'm now using Keynote 10.1. Can you help me with this? Appreciate any feedback from you.
This is amazing!! thank you so much! Also I am experimenting making the background green and adding an object in the first slide and enlarging it in the second so it works as a green screen effect. Can't wait to try it on my next video!! I had never used keynote before and its pretty awesome, thanks again!!!
This is awesome - thank you so much for this tutorial! It's so difficult for me to find/choose unique transitions so I just give up and use the iMovie presets - now I'm excited to make exactly what I want/need on my own!
A great tutorial as usual Gary, however when I try doing this (creating the video from Keynote, based on the animation contained on a single slide), Keynote consistently crashes, without producing the video. I've reported this to Apple, occurs from the latest Mac OS version and latest Keynote 11.2.
Maybe try restarting? Hard to know what could be wrong from afar, sorry. I'd try rebuilding it from scratch in a new file. Export frequently as you go so you know if it is something specific you are doing.
@@macmost Hi Gary :) I did restart my Macbook, same issue. I created a brand new keynote with a simple slide, same issue. Tried to create video out of 3 slides instead of one, same bug. I tried also to change the "go to next slide before/after" values (had put zero, then left default values), same bug. It looks pretty systrematic in my case, hope Apple addresses it fast...
Question if I think of a slide as having 4 quadrants each with a different picture representing a different chapter of a video and at the start of the chapter i want the picture that represents that chapter to move and scale to fill my screen than when the related video content is finished playing I want the thumbnail to shrink back down to its original position in the first slide and the second clip to enlarge like the first so on and so forth

You did a VIDEO a few months ago using Keynote and iMovie and it changed the way I use iMovie. Great skills and tricks. Thanks Gary!
The best Mac tutorials on the planet!

Thank you! I did not know I was able to use keynote to create something that I could use in my vlogs!
Thanks! You can even make a custom Credits Roll in KeyNote

Brilliant, and expertly communicated. Thanks a lot!
Great video tutorial! Have used a lot of your techniques in the past. Now I can create custom transitions as well. Thanks!
Nice! Not only transitions then. But also cool lower-third popups for text etc. A bit harder to maintain and edit. But doable.
Fantastic! You don’t need expensive software like „Motion“!
Amazing video. Thanks a lot for this amazing content

Did you remember to set the background of all of the slides to No Fill?
@@macmost Wow! That did it! Thanks! Appreciate all that you're doing!

@@nicolasremy5366 You should call Apple Support as this is probably something just happening for you and you'll need to work with them to resolve it.
@@macmost cheers Gary, I did and my issue was fixed by the 12.3.1 OS upgrade (thought I had the latest, but used 12.2.1)!
This is so helpfull, who needs final cut pro now?? Thanks Gary

Lots of ways to do it in Keynote. A good one would be to just use Magic Move. ua-cam.com/video/qCKC3-mO3OU/v-deo.html
Awesome tutorial and tips! Kudos...
Thank you so much ... God bless you
You are a genius!!
hi do you provide this service for pay&
Fantastic!!!!!
awesome ty!!!
thanks gary
awesome!!!!!!
Can you do this on mobile?
No. You'll need to use a Mac to create transparent videos. But transparent images can be made from Keynote on iOS.
Why can’t I click make motion path from shape
Make sure you are using the right kind of shape and you have everything selected correctly.
I have watched this 20 times now and although I have every setting the same my movie still has a black background
Are you maybe using an older version of Keynote? Did you remember to set the background of every slide to be transparent?
you look like Joseph Salvatore Caputo - orange is the new black.
👍
Not workin 0/10 the snapping does not work
Maybe you have turned them off? Check Keynote, Preferences, Rulers and make sure the checkboxes under Alignment Guides are on.
