Big day for Project Clara and for us. If you haven't been following along with the full Project Clara series and love classic muscle builds, we invite you to check out our other episodes (ua-cam.com/play/PLZ_Lzlzkty8zxyLOA-PQtdhrl925ohD-J.html). If you have a classic build that you're working on, share it with us!
LOL. Thank you for watching and sharing. We appreciate you following along. It will be a while before we get to that point but it will happen for sure.
Wooooo. Love It and those numbers....Oh Hell Yeah! Congrats on hitting the goal. Now to bring it all home with the next steps of the build. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching and the kind words. We hope the next steps don't drag out too much or long but this is definitely a marathon not a sprint as we're learning.
Nice pull! And glad to see another local Cleveland! I had mine also done by Steve in 2022, very happy customer. I used the factory 4V heads (pedestal rockers), a little milder cam from Bullet and got 427 HP @ 5200, 456 lb-ft @ 3800. Perfect for my street 70 Torino. If only Ford had not detuned these from the factory, you'd see more today!
Hi Dan. Thanks for watching and sharing the kind words and your story with us. Greatly appreciated. So cool to connect with Barker customer on here. Congrats on your build and the dyno results. I have a personal love for Torino's as my Dad used to have one when I was a little lad. He and I both wish he still had it. If you don't mind, could you email us some pics of it and your motor? Would love to see it. Email is in the description. Stay safe out there!
That is a nice engine! We are getting ready to build our own for my son's 1970 Mustang! Doing Trick Flow heads and a Howards cam. Now to get the rest of the car done....
Hi jcmeyer5. Thank you for watching and sharing the kind words as well as what you're currently working on. We really appreciate it and love hearing about other builds. How far along are you with the car? Trick Flow heads are great and Howards is what we initially had planned for however after waiting for months and still no update as to when they would be shipped, we cancelled and switched to Comp. Would love to hear more about you and your son's Mustang. If you'd like to share more, please email us at spiritedwrenchers@gmail.com. Our latest Project Clara episode is coming out tomorrow with an update after months of metal work. We hope you follow along. Cheers!
What did you do with deck height? My son and I are literally building a 1970 Mustang Mach1 from the ground up. Almost entirely new sheet metal. As bad as Clara looks, ours was that and more, and wrecked on the passenger quarter. The roof, inner structure… it was all bad. I think we were able to save the firewall, roof cross members, and a fender. Other than that, all new. We have all the sheet metal, we are just waiting for the weather to turn so we can start primer of interior surfaces and start welding together
@@jcmeyer5 I asked our builder and he said just about at zero. He only cleaned off a little since we're not tracking it and trying to squeeze every bit out of it. He said the height will also vary depending on components that you put in it. Sounds like a large project but a fun one. Would love to see pics of where you're starting if you don't mind sending us some. Looking forward to some warmer weather as well so I can work later at night in the shop without running the kerosene heater so long. Damn fuel is expensive. LOL
Cool. I have a 4v m code now that's making around 500 crank at 7k. Going to pull it next year. Eagle crank 4 bolts main caps, solid roller cam, yella terra rockers. This baby is going to scream all the way to 9k
Thank you so much for watching and sharing. Sounds like you have a serious beast on your hands. We can't wait to get to the point where we can see how quick the rear end yanks. Stay safe out there. ✌️
@@SpiritedWrenchers thanks. Yeah it's got plenty of power, but i'm still going to upgrade it needs improvements, I learned more about Clevelands.. oiling is going to be upgraded to. It's in a 70 fastback with a silverfox aod ( built for 700 hp
My 1970 351C H code has an XE256 extreme comp cam, edelebrock air gap intake, 600cfm Holley 4V carb, 5 speed Tremec, and a Currie 31 spline 3.70 eaton tru trac rearend. It is a torque monster. I figure I'm probably at 300hp, 380+ Tq. I think if you went any higher you'd lose the HP spinning your rearend all over the place. I've had lots of Foxbody's and at 496rwhp I could break the tires loose uphill at 70 mph. No fun. You've got more power than you can use and will not run out of it. Good job.
Hi Brian. Thanks for watching and sharing your build. Just reading it is exciting and I'm sure it sounds even better in person. We agree, what we have will be more than enough and we'll have to learn how she reacts to the pedal for sure. May have to look into that rear end. We still just have the stock 9. Hope you follow along for the full build. Stay safe out there!
@@SpiritedWrenchers I should tell you that I had a 1970 Cougar convertible with the M code 351C, C6 Trans, and posi rearend. I could kill any car with enough time to get the Cleveland RPM's up. However, for a light to light car, not so much.
Hi Ronnie..thanks for watching and asking..we really appreciate it. I've been trying to find the printout so I could give the exact number. Once I find it, I'll share for sure.
Goldy's Garage, thank you for watching and sharing. We feel we could likely call it the same so we're glad to see someone else with the same opinion. Cheers!

Got a feeling that Clara will be an extremely fun street machine with that 464 horse Cleveland !
Can't wait to see you two cruisin !!!

Hell yeah! That thing sounds healthy, and some nice numbers to boot!
Thanks for watching and sharing. Definitely happy with where she landed. Now we hope the rest of the build doesn't take forever. LOL.
Great numbers and man does that engine sound GOOD! That nice chunky idle.😎
Thanks brother. We appreciate you watching and the kind words. We agree, the sound of those pipes gave me goosebumps. LOL
That sounds AWESOME!!!!!! God bless American Muscle
Thank you brother. She sounds mean for sure. Long live American muscle!

300 horsepower!? Had over $350 leaving the factory
What were the torque numbers
Hi Ronnie..thanks for watching and asking..we really appreciate it. I've been trying to find the printout so I could give the exact number. Once I find it, I'll share for sure.
Ronnie, finally found my printout. Torque was 454.8
What year mustang and what transmission behind it?
Thanks for watching and asking. We appreciate it. 70 and brand new T5.
Call it 475 @6000
