Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

Thank you for all the support. All the sudser's ROCK!!! I am sooo thankful to be apart of such as awesome community!
We are so glad to have you here! Thank YOU!
You have a lovely face and an epic beard! ❤
In the winter when my husband grows a beard, he combs his too. It makes it so much nicer. 😊
Omg congratulations. You are so good!
Oh I love it! Video #goals, eXtra! Congratulations!
@extrasoaps1438, where did you buy that Japan wax?
Posting links because premieres always mess up the algorithm so less people see it in their feed. 😅

OK Extra!! First of all that beard balm looks luxurious af!
And second… that hair? That beard?! SHARP. And THAT SMILE!! Just pure joy!!!! Congrats friend!!! ❤
^^this.
Omg @eXtra, you are adorable! Loved seeing your face and the balm looks gorgeous!
Such a gorgeous bar! I want to try this so bad but super intimidated 😬 I’ll get there. But so excited for you sir! Well done!
Great job Extra, my goal is to be as organized as you are! While watching this and watching Mrs. use some on her hair I wondered something. I've seen many videos of making beard balm, but I can't find any on making a curl cream. I have wavey/curly hair. All of the products I have purchased are too heavy and end up weighing my hair down. I think I am going to try and make a very lightweight curl cream. The two of you have inspired me to get creative.
Nice balm, most tutorials for beard balm have an issue or 2 but his is really awesome. Can you please make a liquid beard wash tutorial? Or what would be done differently to make your bar recipe liquid?
That was awesome thanks for sharing…you rock!
5% of a water based extra is fine without a preservative. However, you absolutely need a proper low HLB emulsifier to bind it and careful processing
Awesome, I will have try a low HLB emulsifier as well. The main reason I wanted a preservative was because this is a dip product, where wet hands or not sterile hands would be touching the product. Thus, I wanted it to last regardless of how the product was handled.
This is awesome!
This looks great. I notice that his UA-cam channel is now empty of content. Any way I can get the details of the recipe?
Googling Japan wax and adding to my rocket oil list lol. Love "scene extra fun"!! I'm loving all of this especially the color of this balm!! Awesome job Extra!! 👏🏾😍Ohh beautiful soap too!!
It really was so much fun to film that segment. I wanted to capture some of the recipe testing portion since I really did try a lot of variations! I have a deep conditioning version which is divine and probably could double as just an overall hair conditioner.
@@extrasoaps1438 Oh sweet!
Remember me asking questions about lotion and liquid conditioner saying that I didn’t wanna share what I was using? It’s because I was using my beard balm recipe from this challenge in attempt to make something for my hair! It ended up being a nice lotion but too heavy for my hair. 😂
My fiancé has dry itchy flaky skin from his beard. Will this help his skin under his beard? 🙏🙏🙏
You bet!
Super sleek and so precise! 😍 love it! Great job
Congratulations! I joined so I could maybe enter some of these great contests but unfortunately my old brain couldn’t figure out Discord or where any of these were announced.
Hey! I put the challenge announcements up as a members only vid, so you don’t have to engage in the discord if you don’t want to.
Hi there,
I have been searching where I can get my hands on Japan wax, but no luck. Would you please share if you happen to know. Thank you for this video. I am eager to try the recipe.
Japan wax is a wax obtained from berry kernel of Sumac tree (scientific name: Rhus succedanea) native to Japan. I sourced mine from Amazon (US), but it can be bought from other sources too under “Sumac Wax” or “Fruit of Rhus Sccedanea Wax.” I hope you can find a good source! Good luck 😊
@@extrasoaps1438 Thank you
And he is so nice person! This community is incredible.
Isn’t he just? The Sudsers are the best people on the planet.
This finished product looks so amazing. The texture is absolutely divine.
You're amazing and so is extra! You can see the smile in his eyes when he is doing his videos which adds even more. And yes, it would be great to see more men groom their beards as he does and I bet many would wish for such good products to inspire them. Looking forward to his site. 😃♥🧔♂
Excellent tutorial!
Dang! I missed it! So freaking busy lately.
It’s all good! Busy is a state of existence these days.
This guy is just amazing
He sure is!
