- "No Good About Goodbye" Quantum Of Solace rejected James Bond 007 title theme song performed by Dame Shirley Bassey composed by David Arnold here is my un official 007 music video not "Another way to Die" from the opening intro 2008 Bond 007 soundtrack. This 2009 title theme song was not played over the opening intro That was the awffull Jack White & Alicia Keys Video over the James Bond credit titles. Shirley Bassey did three Bond film themes...and her vocals were different in each of them. In Goldfinger it was brassy, powerful and bombastic. In Diamonds Are Forever it was sparkly, teasing and sexual. In Moonraker, it was yearning, wistful and romantic. In this song, she is ALL OF THEM. Nobody can pull it off.
Don’t forget the unused Mr. Kiss kiss Bang Bang from Thunderball. That would be a total of four Bond tunes.
@@deacondavis5098 yes, but in this case, the Dionne Warwick version was actually superior. Bassey was trying to make the song Goldfinger 2.0
Truly at a loss why THIS soundtrack was bypassed for the duet in the opening credits : Dame Shirley Bassey's performance is beyond fantastic!.

Because the radio stations would not play this. Instead they choose Alicia Keys because it fits more for mainstream stations and generates more sells then Shirley Bassey

Unreal. This is the best bond theme song for a bond film that was never chosen that I’ve ever heard. I’m absolutely lost for words. Classic Shirley bassey bond track. Amazing. I’m so Sorry Shirley that they never chose this amazing song. I feel I have to apologise on there behalf. A true bond legend. Why on earth did you make this classy woman and bond queen perform an amazing bond song to then dump it for that absolute crap that was chosen.

Me too. I thought it was an old song put to scenes of Quantum Of Solace. I cant believe they chose Another Way To Die over this, i mean its a good song but this just oozes Bond Theme.

Had this song been used as the theme for Qunatum of Solace, not only would it have been better than the song they went with, it also would have provided one of the very few memorable moments of the entire film.

They thought the garbage they picked would be edgy and cool, and therefore more popular and promote the movie. It had Alicia keys. And jack white!....

Since Daniel Craig has been hailed by many as the best JB actor of them all, they might as well have Shirley Bassey sing at least one song to a 007 movie (or some sort of entertainment) during Dan Craig's era! And I'm glad they did because Shirley is considered the most iconic singer in the 007 movie world! Good song too! Maybe it should've been a song played in the end credits of Quantum of Solace?
Why on earth was this not used? References the title of the film and fits perfectly with Vesper. Actually sounds like a Bond theme. This franchise is over.

I just discovered this song. This sounds like the same raw deal that Phyllis Hyman got when she came out with her version of the main title for Never Say Never Again. In Hyman's case, composer Michael LeGrand threatened to sue the studio unless her song was deleted from the film.
It would have been nice if this song had been used for the end credits.
First and foremost this song mentions: "Quantum of Solace" while in the actual song that was eventually chosen there is absolutely no reference...

OMG........this video montage looks like an expensive trailer for the film. I have seen the movie but the editing and Dame Shirley Bassey's vocal offering make me want to go back and watch it again. It just feels like everything would have been more impressive with her superior vocals compared to the Jack White thing that was somehow attached to the film. In my humble opinion the producers were asleep at the controls and used the wrong song .

Good effort Collin! You cut to the changing tempo of Bassey's Chorus. You evoke connection between both Bond and Milena's caution with each other, both having been betrayed and lost people they loved and the closure they both yearn for. Great work!

A travesty this song was dismissed for a Bond film. This song alone probably would have made the movie $50 million more dollars bringing that nostalgia back.

This song, Dame Shirley's voice, plunges a hand into your chest and rips out your heart! The word solace is in the song and perfectly captures, the anguish Bond felt at losing Vesper. Instead they had that woeful dirge by Jack White & Alicia Keys. Just like when they stupidly had the boring opening by Sheryl Crow, to Brosnan's 1997 (Bond), Tomorrow Never Dies. They should've had the phenomenal KD Lang titular song at the start, not at the end. Yes, the idiots placed KD's sublime voice and STRATOSPHERIC song at the end. I agree, David Arnold did an amazing arrangement of the 007 theme for Casino Royals and he used orchestral music but Thomas Newman(the new guy) uses too much synthesized music. Basically entire pieces without any instruments.
