- With a Winter Weather advisory place, A quick overnight outing at the lean to is in order. We had to get out there and enjoy the snow before the rain ruins it all. Gotta love some winter camping in a lean to!

Well, you left out the best part "The Rain." I love to be tucked in and warm and listening to the rain.
I know. And I am a bit irritated about it, because I slept right through it.🤣 We got almost 3 inches of rain overnight, and I was sleeping almost the whole time. It was still raining just a little when I woke.

One hell of a lean to bub! That rain we got in the Northeast was crazy. Lots of shore land issues in Maine and rivers are raging! Enjoyed this video. What a great spot for a getaway. Thanks for sharing bub!
Dave!!! Yeah man, that rain was something else. Thankfully it didn't ruin all the snow. Made a good base for the 8" we got 2 days ago! It is wintery and cold out this way! I love it!! I hope all is well with you out your way.
@@ItsGoodintheWoods everything is going well for the most. Recovering from knee replacement surgery but getting stronger each day. Hope to be back out in the trail by late summer. In the meantime I will live vicariously through your videos as well as others. Keep up the good work!

At it. Those potatoes come from Tucker Farms I used to go there all the time and I grew them in the ADK at our camp, they are delicious with some brook trout over a fire also. Excellent video
For the last couple years these blue potatoes have been my favorite! They are fantastic.

Hey man that is absolutely the best lean to I have ever seen! Have you ever thought about putting something like a retractable wall or something where you can close it when you get ready for bed in case of severe weather conditions. Would probably make it a little more cozier in there. But, I love that lean to it's awesome!
Thanks man! It has been a labor of love! I have considered closing it off with clear plastic. It can be done quite easily. Just never really felt the need for it.

Any chance those rock walls inside the lean-to are close enough to the fire to retain any heat overnight. Also not typically found on lean-to roofs, any thoughts of adding a V (similar to what you see on houses above entrances) on the front part of the roof to divert some of the rain-run off to both sides of the fire pit rather than directly into it? Looks like it was a great trip. As always, thanks for taking us along.
The front third of the rock wall was absolutely getting warm. I checked towards the end of the night because I was curious. I had not considered adding a V on the front roof. That is a great idea and I am putting it on the list. I hope I remember to give you a shout out for the idea when I do it. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes it is! I have a superfly, but it is not that awesome camo pattern. The super fly is an outstanding tarp. I highly recommend it

Sorry about the rain. Great camp. Is the river on your property ? It’s beautiful. Made a push for the top of Bigelow, didn’t make plan A,B or C. Hiked a mile and a half breaking trail on snowshoes on roller coaster AT. Turned back a bit made camp and spent the night. Tested new gear and got better all around. Still worth the run, getting better. 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷🔥⛺️🌄
That brook is on our property! It is spring fed, and that spring is on our property as well. What a gift! Sorry to hear you didn't make the summit. But it is the experience that matters, not the summit. Aways good to get out and play with gear! How is the weather out your way? We have a good solid base of snow now. About 5" The rain didn't destroy all of it. And it is snowing right now. They say we should end up with another 6" of powder!!!!! Woooooo

Awesome on the river and spring, wow apocalypse property! When the warmer weather returns in a few days I’m going back out with another plan. Just keep at .
