Revis was on his manifesto though, and I personally believe that if the Bengals were a full team down the stretch of that season, they might’ve given the Jets a chance, and Chad might’ve gotten a lot better looks those two games vs Revis Island the Jets if the slot had Henry.
glad that revis won a ring with us! #gopats!
Outside of Dick “Night train” Lane’s rookie season, this was the greatest season a CB has ever had. That 09 year alone put him in the hall of fame. I didn’t realize how great a tackler he was before I saw this video. But Revis’ covering skills were unmatched. Absolute legend!
He never talked a lot. When he did, he backed it up. It was a great time to be a jets fan. He had Cromartie on the opposite side and he was also very consistent.
Best season a corner has ever had, the Jets are not a playoff team without this man
Can’t believe how many times the qbs in this video just threw it up to their WR when revis was defending that WR like your best WR ain’t gonna Moss revis 😂
Not even moss could moss Revis
@@SWAGGER573he did tho with one hand while being in his slower 30's
Watched every game in disbelief👀
Only second to prime.
Greg Gumbel loved the Jets so much in 2009, he almost called all their games
Who else lived in NY when Darelle was on the Jets and remembered him calling into Francesa on the FAN to air his grievances?
It was about That Monday night game against.
@@DubbyDubois yup! The Jets were wild those years
18:05 bro had more interceptions than Steve Smith had receptions. outlandish.
Can you please do more of these
Revis island was real!! 🔥🔥🔥
I always loved those throwback themed games with the orange/red striped refs.
T O had Revis burnt with Buffalo, and the qb threw a bad pass. Could have easily been a deep touchdown if the ball was thrown right. Revis ended up picking off the under thrown ball.
He is the closest thing to Prime Time I’ll ever see in my life cause I wasn't born when Deion was doing this.
Added to the fact he was a Jet for the majority of his career makes it all the more special
Arguably the best CB season in league history. Went up against a bunch of borderline to HOF WRs and put the clamps on all of them them. On top of that, broke up and intercepted a bunch of passes too. That Jets D was great overall but he was the key. It wasn’t t until he was the Pats that I really appreciated his greatness. There hasn’t been a better CB in the league since he retired.
Hope Throwback does more videos like of individually great CB seasons:
Rod Woodson ‘93
Deion Sanders ‘94
Champ Bailey ‘’06
Ronnie lott the best safetie ever since he has 4 rings you don't want him hitting you
@@moalston4203 Lott was obviously great. Only played CB the first few seasons of his career though.
@@Ginga I said safety
@@moalston4203 I know Lott played safety. Was confused as to why you responded to my initial post when I was talking about corners.
Darrell Green in 1991
I see a guy benefiting greatly from a hellacious pass rush and safety help over the top, and a LOT of holding
Ah, the good old day when the Jets were actually decent. I miss them.
The best days as a Jets fan
Honestly this is one of the greatest individual seasons a corner has ever had and not only did he not win DPOY but he was beaten out by another defensive back for the award.
That year, Revis became my favorite Jet of all time.
Marques Colston vs. Revis- 0 yards, 0 catches, 2 for 33 overall
Colston the next game vs. Not Revis- 8 for 166 and a touchdown
As a saints fan thank you
Man what a awesome year
That Aliquippa boy! Small town that has produced three hall of famers. Mike Ditka, Ty Law, and Darrelle Revis all from Aliquippa PA!!
Never understood why PA is the abbreviation for Pennsylvania. It always throws me off for some reason.
@@beastmode218 lol fair but what would you suggest instead?
As a die hard Jets fan, I approve of this message. I bet every WR refused to go on vacay or even board a plane fearing being stranded on Revis Island.
I have hella Jets apparel but only ONE number is on my back - the greatest to do it - Number #24.
6:28 don’t signal first down for them, goat 😅😅😅😅
"The good news is you spotted single coverage... the bad news is it's Darrelle Revis" 😂
Revis the most underrated corner and one of the most underrated players of all time
Not really. He is top 2 CB of all time.
He single handedly got the jets to the AFC Championship
Lyncanthrope by +44 is playing in the background at 9:20
please do more of these nfl throwback!
Man I forgot just how great Revis was because over the years I just got used to no Qb even daring to look his way.
I'm amazed how off brees, manning and Brady were
Revis was a beast
PRIME Revis Island was by far the best defender and was robbed of defensive MVPS! Deion, Champ and Darelle. are the last true 1 on 1 shut down corners of the NFL!
Throwing deep to moss with a 17 point lead and 25 seconds left in the game is the most Patriots thing ever.
