I’m not going to say that Revis should’ve won, but I will say that Charles Woodson’s year was pretty impactful as well. You can’t argue with 9 INTs, 3 TDs, 4 FFs, and 2 sacks as defensive player of the year. I don’t think it was “ a joke” that Revis didn’t win. Charles Woodson just had a really good year as well. I also don’t think that many football voters knew how special Revis was that year, and Revis wasn’t a household name like Charles Woodson.

Glad the most overlooked aspect of his game was noted in this video. He was one of the most physical corners ive ever seen. All around- he was pretty much the perfect cornerback.
Average yards per receptions allowed should be an official stat next to INTs because people may say that a Corner with no INTs is no good. However, you ask how many times the person he was defending received the ball and the narrative changes
In my opinion the greatest season by any corner ever. Any real fan of the sport knows the corner position primary job is to shut down receiver to limited yardage if any at all the best to that players ability. Interceptions are just the cherry on top. Interceptions are important when it comes to locking up a game or maybe the offense is having a bad day but it’s not required for a corner to have hands like a receiver which is why Revis is the GOAT of corners in my opinion. Dion Sanders was great but he was widely a household name and known for his speed and versatility playing CB/Return and having ints and though he was a very good cover corner I always seen him as mostly a zone CB but used his speed to keep him ahead of the game as far as man coverage goes. Revis doesn’t get enough credit.
@PrinceJancelot I was a big fan of champ but respectfully I don’t think many of anybody has ever accused him of being a top 3 corner ever. Look at the receivers revis shutdown that season compared to Champ and recheck them stats

Full Disclosure: Is a Jets fan Revis isn't the #1 corner all time, due to having a relatively short peak. But at his peak? I've never seen anyone better.
I'm a Vikings fan and there was a period (09-11)where I would have taken Revis over any Defensive player in the league and that includes Jared Allen at his peak when we had him.
Based on the evolution in offensive schemes, the skill improvement in both the qb and wr position, and the handicap defenders was starting to have on them during revis time, imo, at his peak Revis was the best cb of all time.
