I was in St. Louis for the glory years of the Rams and the sh*t-show that ensued under Kroenke. Jackson was the only bright spot on an intentionally depleted team. He was a “very good” back that was tough, made the most of what and who he had to work with. Personally, I don’t think he hit the end-zone quite enough to be considered Hall Of Fame worthy though.
I believe he SHOULD be considered for HOF but, because of the crappy offensive squads that the Rams fielded year after year,he never will and that’s unfortunate. He didn’t hit the end zone enough because the Rams were too anemic to find the end zone as an offense. Those strong legs generated a lot of forward momentum
LD... perfect description ... lifelong Ram fan here...
He'd only pick up his feet after a studder step to go head on with a tackler...or of course the hurdle!
@Cass Taylor that makes total sense...thanks for mentioning!👍
You a coach?
Favorite RB of all time. Absolute monster to play with in madden too
6:12 "there could've been 11 hall of famers on the defense, there was no stopping me"
I concur.
Dude really was a beast, underrated if you asked me 🤷♂️
One of the all time greats! Grew up admiring him!
This is who I want Najee Harris to play like. 6’2” 230lb running backs that can catch don’t come along too often.
Very similar build and style. Najee is better tho
SJ39 was one of my favorite backs, I respected the fact he just did his job, and the fact he did it on some not-so-great Rams teams.
The Derrick Henry before Derrick Henry. 💯
Or Beast Mode before Beast Mode
Loved this dude. One of the best running backs I had the pleasure of watching growing up.
This guy was just as tough as a cookie to tackle. Vastly underrated running back
Never lead the league in rushing sooo....
he didn't have to lead the league in shit. he still the original beast mode.
@@5purplecups That’s because they were an absolute garbage team year after year. They were always behind so they had to throw more. Marshawn’s teams were consistently in the playoffs
@@5purplecups I’m remember as a kid him absolutely torching the Cowboys, had to get a new jersery mid game. He could ball out
My cookies are soft you most have overcooked yours 😆😆😆
All Day AP will always be my favorite RB of all time but Steven Jackson is certainly in my top 5. Loved watching him run the ball. I remember watching his break out game his rookie year where he went for 148 and I was a fan ever since
He got his 10,000+ career rushing yards, automatically makes him a HOF player imo. Of course there’s many more reasons why he’ll be in the HOF soon. Definitely was one of my favorite RB’s to watch growing up.
my favorite beaver player ever.
Im just scrolling thru youtube and i see this title and im like they never lied! Coaches were literally telling me before we played Eldorado High school that Jackson is a big dude so go low and good luck. Of course the 1st quater he broke free so i was like heres my chance...of course i got ran the hell over!! The next week after that Demarco Murray stiffed arm me to the bleachers and thats when i decided i need to stick to drums!! Lmao #VegasStandUp
Thanks for this story, bro. Jackson and Murray are like my top 2 favorite backs ever. Would have loved to see you be stiff armed "to the bleachers". xD
@@Dpad69 yea its crazy growing up with them and hearing about them. Then had to go against them! Both made it to the NFL too!
He was awesome to watch as a kid man. Ran harder than everybody.
The only reason Rams never went winless. Easily HOFer in due time with fellow NFC West Rival Patrick Willis.
He most definitely is one of the greats
As you stated, the beloved Stan Donkey,I mean Kroenke made sure that St. Louis would not field a competitive team but, that’s another story. Steven Jackson will always be one of the greatest RB’s to ever tote the rock,HOF or not.
I will never forget this guy. Truly the OG
SJ39 had 9 consecutive seasons of 1000+ rushing yards & he’s not in the HOF. That’s some bovine excrement
8 seasons
And he only made 3 pro bowls surprisingly.
No 1st team All Pros
@@Terror832 sucks Tomlinson was in his era
@@DanielRGonza and even some very underrated and almost forgotten superstar RBs like Shaun Alexander, Tiki Barber, Larry Johnson and then the next wave of Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, Michael Turner, etc.
So Steven Jackson was a very good RB and will be a hall of very good but not good enough to stand out amongst his contemporaries.
@@Terror832 …. I was testing to see who was paying attention 😆. Truth is SJ39 was never on a “winning” or dominate team. Look at the great Henry Ellard. When he retired he was in the TOP 5 of all receiving records. Even now, with the passage of time he’s still Top 10 in many categories. Too much emphasis on Team records @ the expense of the Players true production
One of my favorite Rams all time!
I was rams fan before they drafted this guy, and I am still a rams fan till my dying day!! And this man's determination and character are part of that reason!
Bruiser Backs are often slept on. They are the most entertaining to watch in my opinion.
