Definitely the best video I've seen from the Bham show. They really gave it all they had. You can tell that Maynard's voice was tiring a little, by the "Supposed Lovers" part.
I think he was respecting the band's wishes. They asked the audience members to "keep your fucking phones in your pocket." If they were "good", the band would allow them to film the last couple songs. That's sort of what Maynard is talking about in the beginning of this video.
Very well shot, bro. I shot the next date's (Jan 30th) finale (Stinkfist) in Corpus Christi. Of course, I wasn't as fortunate as you being in the front row, center, but I wasn't too far away. Check it out if you can. Thanks for sharing your video.
Did anyone notice what guitar Adam used in the intro riff to Invincible? After he finished the intro part to Invincible his guitar tech came and got it and he switched back to his other guitars
It's a new guitar. silver burst E335 Gibson. Semi hollow Gibson. He had been using it AT LEAST as early as Nashville because I was there and watched him do the same thing.
@@azombiestool that’s what I thought, it looked like a 335 and I know he’s buddies Caesar, the new guy running Gibson and figured he got it in Nashville, just haven’t seen anything official about it, there was a picture on instagram of his road case and there was a long scale guitar, maybe it’s a baritone, but the picture has since been removed, I have a screenshot of it but can’t post here
@@maybankswalker9410 he had the 335 when I saw them play at MSG early last month. It look's like he plays the intro with it and switches it out? Maybe a tone thing with the hollow body? I don't think he likes using it after the intro but who knows
Although I’ve seen them play about a dozen times, the last time was over 25 years ago. So admittedly, I have absolutely no idea what the normal audience reaction at one of their shows has become. But this seems like they are playing to an empty arena.
Hey Ben. I’m putting together a multi-camera edit of all the fan footage from this performance, and I’d love to include clips from your video if you don’t mind.
Right? I was like the only one around me moving. The lady in front of me sat the whole show, two guys beside me left after like the 3rd song. I don’t get it.
@@ironblood45 yeah man I don’t understand how you’d pay 300 dollars for front row tickets and just sit there with your arms crossed. Especially for a band like tool. If you’re sitting down for any metal-type band you should probably just stay at home
I saw someone on Reddit yesterday saying a couple showed up and had no idea who Tool even was. Asked them if they were “pretty famous?” . I think they were on 2nd row if I remember correctly. How does that even happen?
I know I'm gonna get a ton of "hate" for my comment but I saw Tool January 19th at the Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida and although I really like Tool and they sounded amazing I gotta admit I was extremely disappointed with their set list! Some of us have been fans of this band for over 30 years so how about dedicating a few classic Tool tunes from the past? I know Fear Inoculum is an incredible album but they didn't play anything from back in the day! No Sober, no 46 & 2, no Aenima, no Hooker With A Penis, no Prison Sex, no Stinkfist.. come guys those are the songs that die hard Tool fans wanna hear!
They’ve played all of those songs other than prison sex in the last couple years. They do lean too heavily on the newest material. I’ll give you that. They were ending with Aenima or Stinkfist for an entire tour I think back in 2021. But this year alone they played Pushit, Flood, The Patient, 46 & 2, Intolerance, Sweat, Jambi, stinkfist, the grudge. They just don’t play them every night of the tour. They swap em around.
I was there too on Thursday , my first Tool concert. Been a fan since the 90s too…I agree with you. Was still amazing!! Would be nice if they do a concert based on all their best songs!!!
Maybe it's my parents' upbringing, maybe it's my personal attitude to always be respectful to everyone at all times - but the way Maynard James Keenan speaks to his audience is just plain wrong. There is no excuse for speaking to people like that. Period.
I don't care how great your music is, you lost my respect with your opening statement on women. Be grateful to God for the skill and talent you have, don't abuse it because you've got your fame, money and recognition. "For dust you and unto dust you shall return"
I hope Maynard repents of rejecting God and His Son Jesus before he dies. It's sad that he uses his mother's death as an excuse to reject God. I'll be waiting on the comments from ignorant atheists....

one of the best fan video captures i've seen. thanks.
BEST performance I've seen of this song. Solid
It’s good but not the best brah, in my opinion, check out the New York show back in 02, schism was otherworldly during that show!
A million better, for sure haha. This was incredible though no doubt.
Great quality!!
Wish you had the entire show. Amazing work, thank you

They played stinkfist at our show 2 days before this in Atlanta, GA!
Hell yeah that was awesome.. they are not a band but a experience:)
I was lucky enough to see both the atl and bham shows! \m/
