However, if the chick is malpositioned, it is considered acceptable to assist. In nature, the mother does on occasion help a chick out of its egg. Especially if it's positioned wrong like this one is.

She and her other four duck friends stayed on the pond to be safe from the fox. We hatched 8 ducks in all -- they are absolutely adorable and almost double in size each day until full grown.

Dezeray, the incubator I used was an expensive system called the mini advanced EX Brinsea incubator. But the delight of watching them all hatch was well worth it. I could have bought many ducklings for the price of the incubator, but after several failed attempts with cheap incubators, this was a good choice. Good luck with your adventure, it is a pleasurable experience.
