The miracle of hatching. Then the absolute ugliness of the new babies. Followed by a double miracle when they are fledged, gorgeous, brightly coloured and sparky. Glorious little birds.

In the mornings his cage was hung on a stand in the front room window while she cleaned the main living room. One day, he began swearing. We were all puzzled as we didn't swear in our family. This went on for weeks. One day, my Gran heard giggling from the pavement outside the front window. As she listened, Gran heard some schoolboys teaching Georgie some very rude words indeed! She chased those lads down the road with a broom! Georgie soon stopped swearing. A lovely memory.

An had over think around 250 or 3 hundred in total. An had to large Averse. And stopped breading them an gave them up when I was around 17 year old. But yes what a wonderful experience to see the budge's together. An 2/3 of my budge's use to sit on my hand an take food fm me to take bk in to the nest box for the hen. I use to love all the different colours of the budge an use to handle them ring the young on there feet. An take them to pet shows. I real took it very seriously when I was a young lad. But I don't have budge's an more. But Thay are so very Beautiful. Truly Amazing budge's.

Yes egg yolk and white are great source's of protein but an egg shell is different,they eat for calcium not protein.
Yes, loads of good calcium and other nutrients in the shells. Plus! It cleans up the nest.

Funnily enough my first budgie birb was called Sparky. The adorable crazy little thing. He was special. My god would I have loved to see him hatch.
