At age 14 I had shingles. Nerve pain brought me to the doctor and after being given pregabalin (and then suffering from withdrawals) I was then given antidepressant after antidepressant (with terrible withdrawals between each). I was told I would need to take a drug for the rest of my life. Fast forward twenty years, and after 3 failed attempts from my current antidepressant (Lexapro) I have finally found the Deprescribing book. It has taught me what actually happened in my story since I came to the doctor with nerve pain. I’m now following the slowest taper schedule of Lexapro using a liquid rx. I have finally found freedom. Thank you David and Mark. Thank you Brooke for this interview.

I brought this book along with several academic articles to my doctor and he refused to look at any of it and said my symptoms couldn't be caused by withdrawal.

Imagine all those 8 million children falsely diagnosed with ADHD and medicated, experiencing all these negative side effects including suicidal ideation analyzing people. This is why you hear about children killing their parents.

I was really shocked to hear that before and that would make sense! This is so inhumane 🦋uck,

@@shan4145 The number that I quoted was based upon numbers years ago I believe it’s closer to 11 million. And we’re the only country in the world that has the statistics. We are creating a society of narcissists, lacking empathy and compassion, lower IQs, higher aggression, and more prone to addictions of all kinds.

    Excellent. Withdrawal so eloquently described.

Knowing that the withdrawal process has such apalling effects for so many and yet psychiatrists and medics still prescribe these toxic substances. Its ludicrous. What happened to listening to people and finding out what is happenening in their life that is causing upset. What impact is their environment having eg and can that be changed... common sense therapy.

I find this content interesting and the subject fascinating. BUT THE FORMAT AND DELIVERY is excruciatingly boring. It is extremely low-vibe, dark and monotonous. PLEASE GIVE COMPLETE CONSIDERATION to another format and present this very important information in a more exciting way. I am a big advocate, but come on . . . six cups of coffee doesn't help when this is presented! I would be willing to help you if you wanted help. 😢❤
