Reinventing the Royal

Developer Michael Galasso - and Falmouth local - hopes to completely re-invent the Royal Nursing Home at 545 Main Street.The Royal once housed generations of Falmouth’s aging population, but now sits empty. After years of discussion with town officials and neighbors of the property, the Zoning Board recently gave the green light that allows the project to begin in earnest.
Michael Galasso has also taken first steps toward getting the property designated as historic.
He says that will help secure funding to help him re-shape the property into the energy-efficient, forward-thinking workforce housing community he envisions. FCTV's Falmouth in Focus host Eileen Preston gets a tour with our cameras.

I worked in the Royal building when it was Falmouth Nursing Home in the mid 70’s until its closure in March 1978 after a Union Strike. So good to see a positive plan for the property
