people will alway trust even if you need a few minutes to get the best shots..a shoot i did last week in LA didnt allow for me to scout prior to shooting so i would literally have the couple wait while i ran around looking for a spot to shoot.
Honestly, bro you legit deserve all the props, you seem super chill and good dude.. I'm starting a photo business on the side while workin a 40 hr day job and your videos keep me so motivated.
Duuude I just discovered your channel and am so glad I did. I like your humor during the shoots and keeping them laughing and comfortable. Keep killin it💪🏽
Real talk... been shooting professionally for 5 years.. first time I came to a proposal shoot. Everyone asking for settings... if you don't know you're camera.. and that your settings are going to very, specially depending on time of day and how quickly the sun moves (if it's golden hour or Blue hour) ... you probably shouldn't shoot engagements. Just saying.... Great video by the way... Heading to a surprise engagement now!
Definitely a killer video man! I know a lot of people mentioned this, but the camera settings would be super helpful. Did you stick around f/2.0 for the most part? all of the 55mm? thanks man!
Not compromising is something I use all the time in lanscape and nightscape photography. I feel like my first half of a session is filled with useless shots, but I keep tweaking composition, or wait for different light, and then I find that the shots become what I had envisioned. So now, I pretty much just rip off a hanful of junk, just to get into the groove
One of my biggest issues (& I feel SO stupid for) that I have had is having to re-edit photos. I will edit through my computer and then I have to literally send them to my phone to do my "safety check" so I can make sure the quality/image is remotely the same on the different screens. I've read that the only thing you can do is literally buy a super expensive color calibration type of thing, but I feel like there has to be an easier way. Do you have any other life hacks for this? By the way, you're awesome. Super humble and encouraging. I feel like you need to be my life coach. Thanks !
If you're colors are incredibly off then I'd check if you're working on RGB OR SRGB mode in photoshop/lightroom. If the majority of your work will be going online then work in SRGB mode.
@@PunkImagin8tionX i actually have recently figured that out as well! But it's more like the saturation and hue of the colors are over exaggerated on a cell phone than a laptop. So I'll edit to exactly what I want it and I love it, then sometimes I have to re-edit to view it properly through a cell phone screen. What I've been doing now is just guesstimating on my PC and turning the saturation & vibrance 10-15 below what i want it to get something accurate across all the devices
I had that problem with my laptop, I would love the picture on my computer and as soon as it was on my phone it was way too much of something or super underexposed. I just got a new computer and it's so much better. I wish I had found something to fix it.
Hey! I’m having issues when taking photos while I’m having to wear my glasses... often times the photos look great on camera but once I start editing a lot of them are out of focus and are not as clearly as I’d like for them to be. Any suggestions??
Hey Jenna, 2 things - i would suggest shooting without your glasses and there should be a wheel next to your viewfinder that can adjust to your vision (as if you were wearing glasses) OR step into the world of sony where the screen and viewfinder are digital so you never need to actually use the viewfinder, just the screen itself!
Hello! Your video was so helpful! I'm a total amateur with a fancy camera, mainly shoot landscapes but my close friends want me to take some photos for their engagement. I have the sigma 35mm, but thinking about investing in a zoom lens. Which lenses do you recommend/are using in your tutorial? Thanks!
Hey Omar, awesome video! Would you be willing to share the exact location of this shoot. I know you said it is on the way to mt Charleston in nv, but was wondering if you could share the exact location. Thanks, Rebecca
I wouldn't bother. Once they learn about the exposure triangle, then they'll realize that settings are very dependent upon the situation of that location right at that exact moment in time.
Doing my first engagement shoot in 3 hours. Sony A6000 50mm 1.8f Sony Prime Lens I have faith in my skills and time behind the camera, yet I'm still scared shitless. Ill let you know how it went haha!
This was very helpful! I’m about to take my first big thing, and they are my friend’s engagement photos and I’m glad I stumbled across this video! New subscriber for sure!
Honestly, everyone is asking for camera settings more than I thought they would. Exposure is good and there's only one way to do that. Learn the fundamentals of shutter aperture and iso. Oh and shoot in raw. That's a big help. Nice video.
Great video. I'm scheduled to do an engagement shoot soon and this was very helpful. I enjoy capturing moments as they just be themselves along with doing some posing.
So stoked I discovered your channel. I've just started doing some weddings and I'm running into some serious walls, mainly with focus. I usually use my Sigma 35 1.4 and I'm often trying to get a shallow depth of field but obviously want the important part of the couple in focus... that's not happening for me. I've been under the impression that the further you get from the couple the more of them will be in focus at those shallow DOFs... am I making that up? I just can't seem to nail it and I don't want to lose the blurred background. Also curious about your thoughts on AF at those shallow depths. Even when standing 20 ft away and using the focus+recompose method, i'm ending up with all the wrong parts in focus...
Hi. Im an wildlife photographer that got asked to do an engagement shoot for my sister. Super helpful video!! Thank you! What lens do you recommend. 35mm or 50mm? Im on a budget
Omar, Thanks for the great content! I found you through Sean Cannell and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm getting back into photography & now videography after a long hiatus. The thing I love the most about photography is capturing moments. Those moments that remind people of the stories and help them remember and relive those moments all over again. Looking at trying to start my own channel here soon, coming up with content & video ideas, so I will hit you up once that is ready. Also love hearing about people's journey in photo and video. Would love to see a video talking about how you got into photography and also another video on what resources have helped you in your journey. Thanks again for sharing and look forward to seeing more videos!
i always say with pets and kids you cant control much of how they act/pose so learning good positions and capturing moments more than posed images as well as getting good at photographing motion
You sir, are amazing. I loved this video and I cant wait for the next one. this helped me so much. Im apart of this Facebook group for photographers and the amount of work that goes into editing and photoshop was exhausting and made me feel frustrated. Your style is more of what I want to do....just raw emotion and perfect lighting right out of the camera. This was perfect and I think I may make a drink and watch all of your other videos. Lol....THANK YOU!!!!
I'm loving that you use Pinterest for reference, this has been my hack and I was feeling guilty about it, or weird if I asked my clients to replicate a pose. But I've found that most people dont know what to do and feel awkward, they LIKE when I direct them and have endless ideas and then I have sooo many options for them at the end of it.
depending on how long we shoot, usually an hour can bring out 50-75+ images and I always just deliver all the ones that come out good - found that clients are more appreciative of the experience and service when you don't hold back the photo count
This was very helpful, I'm actually doing an engagement shoot for my friends next week...its gonna be my 2nd shoot with them so i gottta come stronger lol
Omar Eltakrori actually had to reschedule due to our crazy ass weather; i don't have any lighting at the moment so they wouldn't have been properly lighted plus they said wanted to get some props
Not long found your channel, love your work... I love how the photos look, would love to see an edit with me video to achieve similar look & feel... I love the warmth what are some key tips you can share to obtain this, newbie to editing here 🙏
Lightroom is the program you want to learn - you can buy my presets to achieve this look or you can look around the internets for some you like and use adobe lightroom to apply them onto your photos
How do you go about not wanting to smile with your teeth in an engagement photo shoot? Like not being confident in a smile ? Should I let the photographer know ?
April E i would first say just smile the way you want for the shoot, however, it doesn’t benefit the photos that come back if your smile is the same in every photo, I’d encourage both because there’s no competing with a natural laugh/smile captured. You can let the photographer know or maybe if he or she is doing further shots just switch it up
i would say shooting neutral is different than shooting with a picture profile. for photography RAW files help with dynamic range which is why people shoot video in flat profiles like s-log but thats because mp4 or mov files aren't raw files...does that make sense? lol

Hey love your videos, you are a great teacher. How do your presets work? I’m interested in purchasing but not sure what they entail or how it works. Help pls!
legit only lens i use lol - on occasion when necessary I'll rent an 85 or 70-200 but havent felt the need to own another..that 55 is the sharpest lens ever!
My sister and her boyfriend just got engaged. Im going to college to be a photographer so today they asked me to do their engagement and wedding photos 😭❤️ it's my first time doing pictures that are this important and I'm terrified but so excited. This video was super helpful!
Man I am going way too fast. I think i need to chill out and look around and use what is around me for textures and angles. Loved this!

Big shoutout for this video. I’m doing my first engagement shoot tomorrow and this made me feel a lot better! Appreciate you 🙏🏽

Your presets saved me in a shoot that would have otherwise been so boring. Thank you so much!!! Keep up the great work!!!
BRO got your email! thanks! I'm glad they were able to help you, I', going to be putting it on the preset page as a testimonial!!

Love love love. Great job and great explanations on how you do it and tips and just everything. Thank you so much!
thanks a lot! that realy helped me! friends asked me to take a couple of pics and I can use a lot of the hints!
Were you shooting in manual or auto? Did you ever use sports mode? Or just keep your shutter speed high and use landscape mode or portrait mode?

yea, started to do that after this video. But yea im usually anywhere from 2.0-3.2

You may struggle with perfection, which is okay but as you get more jobs, edit more photos you gotta just call it done and move on!

My problem is the laptop shows my photos soft, so I sharpen and when I send to my phone it's way too sharp.. what's y'all's Instagrams btw?
For me the hardest part is having both in sharp focus
practice choosing things in focus then framing your shot
Love your video ❤
What shoulder bag is that?
Yes this video is lit👍🏾 love it
This was so helpful!! Thanks! :D
Yoooooi, this is dope ... Great information !!!!

the word "professional" is definitely losing its power because anyone can do this! I use the Zeiss 55mm 1.8 for the whole shoot
Leave it to the pros
Hey Omar, awesome video! Would you be willing to share the exact location of this shoot. I know you said it is on the way to mt Charleston in nv, but was wondering if you could share the exact location. Thanks, Rebecca
This was about 10 mins up mt charleston where you start seeing joshua trees all over
Why were you not using a flash at all? Thanks
i lean toward natural light photography - just a preference, i dont believe either way is right or wrong.
OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one that whips out my phone for a pose! Great video!
NO SHAME IN THE WHIPOUT!
Bruh my friend just called me a few minutes ago and asked me to shoot for her and her fiance today RIP 😅😅 there's some great tips in here, thanks haha
Random af but I see your combat boots! You a devil?

Should put the camera settings of the photo on the photo. People like that.
thanks woody // i'll forsure begin too do that!

How did the engagement photos turn out?
Do you focus on one person eyes when shooting couples? Or on their face?
how many pictures do you have total for a single engagement ? im shooting my first one in Jan and i have no idea what to do. pls help me

HUGE THANK YOU DANIEL!
very helpful video.. thanks, I have a canon t5i and I need to take some shoots to my sister engagement.
awesome camera! if you dont already have a prime id recommend the sigma 30mm for that camera
You in Las Vegas, nv? How much are your sessions?
Great video, and fire pictures, appreciate the tips
Is it ok to shoot couples at the same locations and same poses?
Really found this helpful. The only thing I would have liked more would have been the camera settings on each photo for a reference! Thank you
I got you on the next! Thank you for watching!

I enjoy the real world not so technical tips. Keep 'em coming!
thanks Paolo, definitely trying to find a way and get as consistent as possible!
Shooting in Neutral is the same as flat profile?
i would say shooting neutral is different than shooting with a picture profile. for photography RAW files help with dynamic range which is why people shoot video in flat profiles like s-log but thats because mp4 or mov files aren't raw files...does that make sense? lol
What was the gear you used for the shoot?
Awesome stuff definitely want more of these videos they help a lot!
thanks eric, glad I can help!
I have a weird question but I'm curious to find out. In these types of locations, do you ever run into snakes or unwanted critters?
