    Kinda crazy how Giannis wins 2 MVPs, then people don't want to give him a 3rd because he hasn't proved anything in the playoffs, and then that season he doesnt win MVP, he wins a ring. Then the exact same thing happens to Jokic... that's insane

    This is the best analysis I’ve heard about the Nuggets after winning Game 5 against the Heat. They were 16-4 in the playoffs. They swept the Lakers. Jokić practically averaged a triple-double and led the playoffs in points, rebounds, and assists. In Game 5, as Colin mentioned, the Nuggets were 17% from the three-point line, 56% from the free-throw line, and had twice as many turnovers, yet they still won because of Jokić. Congratulations to the Denver Nuggets! I’ve been a fan since the Alex English and Doug Moe era in the 80s. The first one is always the sweetest!

    Colin, being a Denver sports fan nearly my entire life I appreciate your kind words about this city. We are a great sports city. In the past 8 years we've had 3 championships in 3 different professional leagues, the Avs, Broncos, and now the Nuggets. We've been suffering with the bad Broncos for a long time, so the Nuggets winning their first title is just awesome. Plus, my dad who is 85 got to see the Nuggets win their first title. This team going to be very good for a long time - and as you said, it's all about chemistry and patience. One last comment, don't forget to mention the incredible Jamal Murray. He's likely going to be in the Hall of Fame along with Jokić and others.

    The mobility point was perfect. Even the KD Warriors only happened because:
    1) 73-9 Warriors lost
    2) KD became available
    3) The cap boom made KD affordable
    4) KD fits in almost any offense, but ESPECIALLY the Warriors
    5) The Warriors were led by a player secure enough to let KD come in the greater interest of winning.
    If any of those factors were different, it doesn't happen (let alone work). And it still only worked for a few years.

      The reason he left Miami was a series very similar to this. After back to back titles in 2012 and 2013, the second one being very close and needing a Ray Allen last second shot, in 2014 Miami faced the Spurs again but this time Pop was ready and prepared. G1 Miami lost by double digits on the road, but squeaked out a G2 win to get the needed split on the road (same thing happened against Denver). Looking forward to coming home for Games 3 and 4 and taking control of the series. Instead got dominated at home with back to back double digits losses (again, the same thing happened this year). Then on the road again for G5 where a loss ended the series. The key thing to note was San Antonio wasn't just beating Miami, they were controlling them. Repeatedly. And LBJ knew that Pop had figured out Miami's weaknesses and could exploit them consistently, meaning Miami's run was over. So he decided to bail and head back to Cleveland. I have zero doubt that had Miami gotten the 3peat, LeBron would have stayed. But he saw the writing on the wall.

    Nuggets fan here. I'm gunna say an unpopular opinion. People are sleeping on Minnesota. They are a team that ACTUALLY has the size to matchup against Denver. They had drama this year, and a bunch of injured roll players. But Anthony Edwards legitimately attacked the nuggets defense as well as anybody did all post season. Give that team some time and chemistry and they could be a problem in the next 2 years.

    • @samantharay6098
      @samantharay6098 Рік тому +2

      Nah. KAT will get traded and the 4 on Jokic strat will be stale anyway.
      Edwards is very good, but it was never close, Minnesota would be lucky to make a WCF, and will never beat the Nuggets. Realistically, the only threat in the West to Denver is the Kings and, in time, the Spurs.

    • @DammitBobby
      @DammitBobby Рік тому

      @@samantharay6098 like I said, it's an unpopular opinion. I actually think Tim Conneley gets to much Flak for the Rudy Gobert trade. The price was insane, but most likely the owner was pushing him to do something crazy. I think KAT or no KAT, Ant is good enough to be an offensive hub with enough size and defense around him. That size just has to be able to space the floor and shoot. KAT sucks at defense so maybe he doesn't fit.

    Cowherd is right that Jokic is like a far bigger Bird, but 2-3 inches taller, less mobile than Bird, but a better left hand than Bird. Jokic never gets his shot blocked - almost. But once they lose Murray, with Ish Smith, they're cooked liked a burned mcNugget. No one is worr about Smith hitting 2, 3 pointers in a row. Bruce Brown is a totally inconsistent. He couldn't be consistent to save his life. If Brown were consistent, would've averaged 15 pts per game. They need to trade Brown for Monte Morris, get him back.

    Basically if you're a great player and want freedom of mobility don't go signing long term deals. Nearly everytime a player moves and wins its because they signed in free agency NOT by forcing a trade. Forcing a trade should only be used in situations completely untenable and even unhealthy for you, not because you want to win.
