▶▶COVERS. The Metallica Black album is holy ground when it comes to covers. Metallica's Black album is so perfect and hugely successful that it's almost impossible to make a cover that will be better or on the same level as the original.
Corey Taylor's version of Holier Than Thou is as close to being as good as the original as you're going to get! He stayed true to the original song while adding slight variations to it to make it unique. It's more of a tribute than it is a reimagining - and that's GREAT.

Definitely a great song, they did a great version of this already awesome song. Did not disappoint, definitely a banger for me and my truck.
I just listened to this, him doing a Soundgarden cover, and him doing a Rage Against the Machine cover, a Chris Issak (sp?) cover...and the sponge bob song...nailed all them.

Kickass cover! 9/10. I’m not a Corey Taylor / Slipknot / Stone Sour fan, but this is awesome! And by the way, I listened to the Black Album a lot.
I see questions on Reddit like "What is a perfect album start to finish" and every time, I think of the Black Album. To me it's perfection.
@@maximumentertainment4414 It is with not a single doubt the perfect example of how to make a fan-fucking-tastic rock-solid metal album. But Master of Puppest is just slightly better. That album came at the right moment in my life.
Master of Puppets is phenomenal, but like you said, the sound quality on the black album is perfection on top of perfect music

I still think I like this cover more than the original but not by a lot! Anyway you should check out "One Night in Tokyo" by Beast in Black. It's straight up fantastic.
I definitely want to hear more Beast in Black but I've been trying to save them so I can circle back around to them after some variety

Good cover, still Metallica is best, but i could add this to playlist to..The clean producrion sound on the black album, is just insane, its a album produced with very good sound quality, hard to beat. love he end it with some Whiplash still..
