DETAILS:
On April 28, 2024, at approximately 2:16 AM, CHP Riverside
units responded to a call of a Dodge Ram traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-215,
south of Eucalyptus Avenue. The Dodge continued wrong way on the westbound SR-60 to
southbound I-215 transition road where the Dodge collided with multiple vehicles. The Dodge
entered westbound SR-60 where it was involved in a three-vehicle head on crash. The driver of
the Dodge fled the scene on foot and was ultimately located off the freeway where he was
arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. A total of three separate crashes
occurred ranging from complaint of pain to major (non-life threatening) injuries.

🤬 as a medic for 19 years with a fire department these are one of the absolute worst most avoidable unnecessary calls we respond to that has caused so much death and destruction. People get trashed then get on the wrong side of the highway and murder people, it’s awful. Last one I worked we had a blue tarp call where we had to follow the wrecker with remains in it to the police impound where the coroner and funeral director met us to get the remains sorted and in the right body bags. Then de-comp the car and bleach it out for biohazard protocol. You get real tired of seeing dead kids because people make stupid choices.

Wrong way happens because people drive drunk, tired, distracted, high, overworked and overwhelmed with their minds on other things besides driving and their surroundings.... Or they rent a car in a country that has direction of travel reversed... At university I was in a bus versus car fender bender. I was on the bus as the car, driven by a foreign student, made a right hand turn into our side of a divided road. The bus driver told me he deliberately slows down at that corner because of how often that same situation had happened at that corner. His actions in driving slowly into the corner and pulling the bus to the left side as far as possible meant that the car lost its bumper as it scraped the corner of the bus rather than crashing head on into the bus.
No one was injured, just really shook up about the "what if..." the wrong way driver that time was very sorry for causing the damage and scaring us all.

He said one of them could have been his son, and other ridiculous comments. The BLM movement idolizes felons, rapists, drunk drivers, shoplifters and murderers. We had the same thing happen a couple of days ago here in Ontario, Canada. The guy robbed a liquor store, and entered the highway going the wrong way. In this case 4 people were killed. A grandfather, grandmother, and their baby grandchild, and wrong way driver. This type of thing is happening way to much lately. Have a great day ❤️🙂⚘️.

That's why I drive German cars, owning an A4 B9 myself, just feels more solid than any civic or accord. Can see it for myself on the IIHS/Euroncap tests, Bmws/Mercs and Audis just simply crush less in crash tests. Driving around knowing I won't crushed alive in my car by an idiot going the wrong way.

It wasn't her fault. She was the one that the Ram truck hit head on at full speed. Looks like her legs are broken but she survived.

5-10yrs for EACH VEHICLE he hit. 5-10yrs for driving under the influence, 5-10yrs for each person's injuries. In the end he'll be lucky to serve 6mos!
