Nice! I really enjoy these interview-style videos! You're becoming a big UA-camr now, I hope you don't ever forget about your first couple of subscribers!
Thanks lot for this upload, Kenji. Brilliant interview format as always. Matias was succinct and insightful. A video on the pros and cons of an IB career v one in tech at entry level (for non-engineering roles) would be interesting to see! Keep shining guys!
When you say accounting is necessary, how deep do you mean? Would being able to look at, interpret and understand the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and basic ratios be enough? Or would you need more than that?
DUDE HOW DOES SOMEONE START BY SAYING THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE UNTIL THEY GOT TO COLLEGE? 99% OF FOLKS WHO ARE IN IB DONT HAVE EXPERIENCE WHEN THEY GET TO COLLEGE, UNTIL THEY START INTERNSHIPS 🤨🤨
Dude you should have been getting work experience since kindergaten and by high school they expect you to have been shadowing MD at Goldmans sachs and networking for Harvard MBA students. Then you are ready for an internship provided your extra curricular included at least 1 tour with the navy seals.
I was literally thinking the same thing. I think it may stem from finance recruits having parents/family friends in the industry/professional services and therefore being allowed to shadow or experience parts of the industry through those familiar connections.
Hey Kenji great interview session brother , glad you remembered and made a video on this as per the previous suggestions made by me. Quite helpful this is! 👏
Good one. But I was left wanting more because the part about what it takes to do the job beyond the 100 hours and the will to do the job, I would have liked to know what soft skills you need to do the job. What kind of lifestyle do you need to have and what is the work environment in an investment bank?
Great vid , ppl getting info from someone with xp is always great. Don't you think it's weird how it seems that working 100+ hours was normal? Can people really live balanced and healthy lives where they can maintain fulfilling relationships (w/friends, fam and community) if they work so much?
I passed the hireview at Goldman Sachs a few weeks ago, and I am now at the second round planned for next week. As I am only a junior and have had lot more general educations courses rather than finance ones; are the interviewer gonna focus on behavioral questions ? or we ll go on technicals that I don't know yet as i just started my third year of college? Thanks for the answer
Hey, I got a little question that triggered me a lot : considering the actual crisis and all the crisis that will come ( climate crisis, social crisis, ...), how do you see the future of the financial sector in 10/15 years ? I'm 17yo and I really like finance and economics but is it still a good path to choose ?
What will my life become if not this professional broker Mrs Sophia Charlotte, you are indeed a great woman with the profits I am making. you really changed my family for good I will recommend you to people about your good work..thank you so much I appreciate ma..
I’m investing with Mrs Sophia Charlotte, she charge a 15%commission on profit made after every trading session which is fair compare to the effort she put in to make huge profit….//>
Good video. Investment banking is a garbage sector. These banks add little value. Most M&A transactions are failures. Bankers are a bunch of overpaid crooks looking to extract fees from clients. Some day investment banking and trading will be all automated by AI.
Hi Kenji, you are providing valuable content. Thank you so much I have a small query regarding moving to finance field. I haved messaged you on Instagram can you please give a reply. Love from India❤️

not possible
100 hours during work days is 20 hours a day. Souds very unlikely to be true.

What about grades?
As long as you meet the minimum requirements (around 3.5gpa) you should be alright. It doesnt really matter if you have a 3.6 or a 3.9 gpa
You need a type of personality to be comfortable with working 80 hours plus per week.
Hi kenji.
My question is that can a goldman sachs investment banker associate or vp earn 8 lakh dollar per annum pls reply 🙏🙏
Anybody who works more than 40 hours a week is making a mistake no matter how much money they make in my book.
Id be pretty comfortable with 60 on average if I see an endpoint that helps me achieve my goals
One day has only 24hrs. Are u sure YOURE not the one who hasn’t rested from overwork?😂
@@pureloor8634 what is the enpoint goal?
@@dac8939 A promotion, a similar job at a different company that requires a high level experience, making extra money. Any of those are foreseeable
*Did he say 80+ hours per week? f^ck that!*
What's up
Hey!
how do you work 80 hours a week TT_TT
Working 80+ hours a week at a soul sucking bank sounds terrible. No thanks
The sunspots make you look like brothers
Toxic work culture. Worst industry.

Doing powerpoints and using excel to make simple models - all for the carrot of some $$ down the track. What a waste of intelligent, capable people!
