Genuinely spent half a minute this morning looking for the spelling mistake in the title thanks to this comment before I got the joke, very mean to do that to me before coffee
One of my fave TT characters was a fighter that didn’t read the sales contract for a sword she wanted and ended up in a warlock pact (it’s always the terms and conditions that get you). This build made me think of her and smile.
Another weapon that would be great for this build is the Skinburster for even more damage reduction and retaliation with that sweet sweet force conduit buff on every successful melee attack.
Definitely looking forward to trying this build out, with a 3 Bard party If I can make it work! I am going for my first Honor Mode win with the Avatar of Myrkul and Orin being my 2 major roadblocks for my wins. With any luck this next run will be my successful one!
Today I used Repelling Blast on a certain boss in a certain camp who then fell off a certain rafter to his certain death. So I'm certainly taking Repelling Blast every time.
I think it's super worth noting that on any party face or character that doesn't use wisdom, you can still go 8 wisdom and not have a negative wisdom bonus if you take the forbidden knowledge passive from the necromancy of thay book. this bonus is attainable in act 1, and with the right setup, can mean you just don't have to put any points into wisdom at all. As a bonus, if you fail the checks, you can simply use remove curse. Briefly speccing into a divination school wizard for portent dice can guarantee this permanent buff. I think that's worth considering!
I suppose this does affect your attack rolls with wisdom, but on characters where that matters, you wouldn't really go this route anyway. Your shilleliegh-wielding druid (or however you spell it) won't be the character using this bonus; that would be your paladin or what have you. forbidden knowledge affects your wisdom saving throws and ability checks, which is usually what you take 10 wisdom on a character for.
I wouldn't be too concerned about getting enemies Wet. This character benefits a lot from a Bard in the party due to Song of Rest. That could be a Swords Bard that just rains down Arsonist Oil coated arrows on all the enemies that got Wet by the Mage Hand of the Bard, basically doubling our entire return damage.
Thanks for these clever builds. Do you think maybe a better melee retaliation build would be a variation of your eldritch knight build: 6 levels of Eldritch Knight, 5 levels of abjuration wizard and 1 level of draconian cold sorcerer? You can get damage resistance from warding bond and later in the game, universal resistance elixir. No need to use barbarian for the resistance, which I generally avoid because rage limits spell casting and requires frequent long rests unless you abuse respecs. You would also get three feats and shield spell with this EK build.
Partner this build with a few bards from withers hirelings and you would rarely have to rest. Run with fighter and rogue/ranger and swap the bard out when it runs out of spell slots.
Duellist’s Prerogative would be good with the GOOlock version. One more attack, crit on 19 (18 with GOO), one more reaction, provoke attacks, and just great atk/dmg also
Thanks, for some time, I was wondering how to play Karlach as a party face but wasn’t motivated to paste a generic build on her and do another good bard or pal run. And I think the radiant monk will be great with it.
It is interesting, but it is a one-trick pony, as you can retaliate only once (or maybe twice) per fight before needing a short rest, then recast AoA for the next fight.
i always loved armor of aggy, especially on a tank like a barb. i really only need 6 lvs of berzerker, i was thinking of spliting the rest of the lvs into thief and fighter but i think i'll try some warlock instead.
I've built it! Going with half wood elf and the archfey patron for warlock. If you were to build an honor mode party around this, which of your builds would you choose? I was thinking of adding Wyll in a warlock/swords bard build so that he could benefit from darkness as well. Also perhaps Shadowheart as a nature cleric. Not sure about the fourth. Maybe Gale and/or Halsin?
Love these videos. Wish you could stop whirling the mouse around the Tool Tips while you are describing them. Its worse than futile trying to pause on the nano-second appearance of visual info. Thanks. 😊
u mentioning this every time that darkness makes u immune to ranged, yet everytime i cast darkness to get this effect enemys still attack me from range inside my darkness breaking the spell resulting in me just waste a spellslot.
Im eager to try this one out, but i cant decide on what to make the rest of my party. So far im thinking of pairing this with a gloomstalker assassin, light cleric, and i have no clue for the fourth slot.
i wish it would just pump up the temp hp and not overwrite effects. it makes no sense to break that because you put in another source of temp hp to top up
Love your videos and builds. If you are looking for a unique build that’s VERY different. I have a rouge OR barbarian OR Rouge/barbarian multiclass DEX based great weapon master build that utilized bonus action dashes to great effects. A great striker, competent tank, dps frontlines, and can do all dex skills for the party. Utilizes one of the two weapons in the game that are both versatile (can benefit from GWM) and finese (can benefit from from dex based attacks and sneak attack.) phalar aluve is one, the other is a Longsword with a cone attack I can’t remember the name of. only thing better than your Rouge swinging a d10 great weapon with dex and +10 to damage on top of sneak attack is on demand advantage and temp hp on bonus action dash while raging for half weapon damage on those temp HP. Line breaker boots for bonus damage on dash TLDR: 6 wildheart barb for aspect of stallion and tiger bloodlust cleave ability. 6rouge anything.(thief for extra bonus action for disengage is great for striking but not required) Or all barb with elk and stallion aspect for still bonus action dash and temp hp. You get less skill access but using graceful cloth helps. Or all rouge, this is my early game build to get playable skill access and high damage. High mobility and hard hitting. The two level dip of barb is tempting for rage and wreckless attack advantage though.
Would picking an asmodeus thiefling as your race be good? For fire resistance and an extra cast of hellish rebuke and darkness. I dont know how fire resistance interacts with all of the stuff you already get You probably already get fire resistance from your rage
im using it in my current playthrough. it's pretty powerful. it allows you to branch off in so many directions when multi classing even his current insane builds get even more sadistic.
@ I personally use a mod that lets me get feats at level 2 and then the rest is standard. It has the quirk that a 8/4 multiclass splits get 5 feats though lol. 6 if youre a fighter for those 8 levels. Its a lot of fun
hey bro. i am going to start a new game with 3 new players, may you suggest a build to carry them through?(1 life cleric and 1 support sorlock are in the party
I don't believe the Cloud Giant elixir works with Bladelocks. I was testing this and my pact weapon's hit chance didn't change after drinking. Can you confirm/deny?
Very clever fitting Arbed in the title referencing the red body of Karlach and the Arby’s red logo. Clear product placement.
Genuinely spent half a minute this morning looking for the spelling mistake in the title thanks to this comment before I got the joke, very mean to do that to me before coffee
What, no True Strike?!? That's it, I'm unsubscribing.
Came here to say this. HOW ELSE IS A BARBARIAN TO GET ADVANTAGE ON ATTACKS!? True Strike or unsubscribe 😂
Same here. No true strike. Crap build. 😂
Only fair
So you will make a new build? With TS?
One of my fave TT characters was a fighter that didn’t read the sales contract for a sword she wanted and ended up in a warlock pact (it’s always the terms and conditions that get you). This build made me think of her and smile.
Gotta love it when there's a story reason to multiclass
Perfect lore accurate evil ending Karlack.
Another weapon that would be great for this build is the Skinburster for even more damage reduction and retaliation with that sweet sweet force conduit buff on every successful melee attack.
My Karlach was a Tiger Heart Barbarian using the Skinburster. Rage, then cleave twice to immediately get to 7 stacks of Force Conduit. It was glorious
@infernalspectre Pure evil, I love it 😈
Yes, very clever title. Be praised. (Just started watching the video, lol)
Definitely looking forward to trying this build out, with a 3 Bard party If I can make it work!

Barbed blade? Wow. That is so clever. And its such a cool name for such an unusual character!
A lot of the times the barbarian dialogs you get advantage on the roll as well.
Very cool and interesting build.
Also that's such a clever title. I'm going to hang that title on the fridge so everyone can see how clever it is.
This build was so fun. I’d love to see some more mod builds, especially with Blood Mage
What a fantastic name of a build! Praise given
Very clever tittle. All praise the UA-cam algorithm

My usual dnd group just let's barbarians use their strength mod for intimidation checks
You’re always clever good sir
0:13 ceph has a praise kink confirmed?
I did make an entire youtube channel
Praise the build name. Genius.
You have so many builds. What is your MOST recommended builds for each character?
Thanks for these clever builds. Do you think maybe a better melee retaliation build would be a variation of your eldritch knight build: 6 levels of Eldritch Knight, 5 levels of abjuration wizard and 1 level of draconian cold sorcerer? I had a great idea for one of your tier lists. How about ranking all of the "gathering your allies" buffs and summons.

I also have Karlach in the Adamantine Scale right now! 😂
4:13 I imagine the tiefling Thamurgy helps with the intimidation as well. 😅

Hey I asked you about this build recently lol
An example of the character in action would be nice.
huh. thats a cool build
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the support! I really appreciate it :D
The build is missing Illithid powers discussion, which can be useful to beef up the build .
So cleaver. But needs true strike.
Love these videos. Wish you could stop whirling the mouse around the Tool Tips while you are describing them. Its worse than futile trying to pause on the nano-second appearance of visual info. Thanks. 😊
u mentioning this every time that darkness makes u immune to ranged, yet everytime i cast darkness to get this effect enemys still attack me from range inside my darkness breaking the spell resulting in me just waste a spellslot.
are they throwing weapons at you? currently throwing is still bugged and doesn’t suffer the consequences of blindness or darkness
@@peanuts7324 might be throwing.
Im eager to try this one out, but i cant decide on what to make the rest of my party. So far im thinking of pairing this with a gloomstalker assassin, light cleric, and i have no clue for the fourth slot.
I find AoA on a Fiend Warlock to be frustrating as every time you kill an enemy it overwrites temp hit points and cancels your AoA.
i wish it would just pump up the temp hp and not overwrite effects. it makes no sense to break that because you put in another source of temp hp to top up

Yeah, also a great pick!
Would you consider doing builds with your homebrew feats rule? With the feats on even levels?
im using it in my current playthrough. it's pretty powerful. it allows you to branch off in so many directions when multi classing even his current insane builds get even more sadistic.
Would warding bond be better than Barbarian levels if available?
Still waiting for mystic builds…..
Does this work well as a solo character?
I don't believe the Cloud Giant elixir works with Bladelocks. I was testing this and my pact weapon's hit chance didn't change after drinking. Can you confirm/deny?
Never tried but I would expect that, pact uses chr instead of str, not on top of it.
@franck3279 Yeah, and pacted weapons are the only ones that get the extra attack
Shouldnt it still go off your CHA since you made it your pact weapon?
Mama K!
