3:55 - 🏀 4:50 - you have some great behind-the-scenes comments. Only weight lifters will understand this. 😂 5:55 - add a stainless steel hose clamp (cinch clamp) to that, and it should stay secure. 9:25 - that concrete work is really nice. How many trades did you specialize - concrete construction, too? 10:20 - 🤣 I would get no work done laughing too much.
Haha glad you appreciated my humor! The hose clamp is a good idea! No specialized trades, I’m just learning as I go. Thanks for the comments, very much appreciate!
I think you’re doing a very good job considering everything you have to calculate and do. Thank God your neighbors are such good people because so many aren’t. See you next week.
That sweatshirt is a keeper! Priority 1 was schooling for our children, our previous area was changing in a lot of ways that we didn’t agree with. I also have ties to Wyoming. We knew we wanted to be around pine trees to try a second cabin. All of these factored into our decision.
Thank you! I plan to pour the floor in sections, but probably not until next spring, need to dig plumbing first and that is all after getting the cabin back together!
I mean not that I ever subscribe to bribing public officials but,…..maybe a little seed will leave the inspectors in a better mood lol. Keep up the great work.
Should not have put a cut block in the wall, should have keep going with full blocks & just turned the corner at the end with a full block. The blocks are 16” long & 8” wide, you could have easily made up the 1/2” by making a few of the mortar joints alittle more than the 3/8 to 1/2 joint. By putting a cut block in the wall you will now have joints line up instead of always being staggered
Yes, I see what you are saying, and it was something I pondered awhile. But obviously not long enough!!! Since it was approximately an 8 inch cut, I’m hoping I can “fix” it on the next round. Or maybe take a few blocks out, and do as you suggest. Of course I went down that other side already too! O boy 😬Thanks for the input.
Laying block isn't that hard. If I did it anybody can lol. Long as you start straight with good plumb lines keep everything square a good supply of block readily handy and a good mix of mud. Technic isn't that important long as you butter your block with adequate mud using just enough but no waste. You will catch on quickly. You will do fine...
Instead of wetting the cocrete so often you can spay cocrete cure on and forget about it. Nice job you are doing
Not a bad idea! Thank you!
You are becoming very proficient laying blocks. You’ll be paying Union dues in no time!
Hahah o no!!!
Nice singing, great song choice!
Surprised you could tell the song with my pitch! 😂
Maybe you could market some of those sweatshirts on the channel.😂
Haha, sell them for half off!
Good start.
Thank you!
Great job as always Ross…I want to be your neighbor!
Haha! Very much appreciated!

Almost made the first course. Have fun with your family, see you next week!? 👍😉🍁
Thank you! Have a great weekend!
I think it’s going pretty well too. 😊❤
Thank you! 🙏
You got your moneys worth out of that hoodie, wish we had your wether, great video ✅
I certainly have! 😂my wife says it’s time to retire it! weather has been fantastic for bagged concrete work!
In my area leaving forms in is termite bait
None here, I believe it will just rot away
Super job, not to Monday morning quarterback but gutters and rain barrels could supplement your water needs, Jack, RI, USA
Thank you! I’ve considered the rain catching on the pole barn, but it’s not so bad hauling with the tanks. Hoping to have a well at some point.
Another great episode wondering if your planning on getting the structure on the foundation before winter starts?
Thank you! I’m hoping to have the block work done before it gets too cold for mortar and concrete, then build the structure back up over the winter.
I better wish you had the mechanical device in Vermont to take down trees.
Absolutely Herb, the machine is a beast!
Doing a great job.
Thank you Debbie!!! 🙏
Great progress 👊🏽
Keep on keeping on!
Semper Fi
Thank you! 🙏
Great vid👍💪
Thank you!!!🙏
Haha! Last time I mentioned fashion statement and inside out tshirt. This time it is the sweatshirt...😂
How did you happen to choose South Dakota?

You are a hard, dedicated worker. Quick question, is there a well on the property? If not, are you planning on putting in one?
Thank you! No well yet, I do plan on one, but looking like next summer.
Looks great so far!! Will you be pouring the floor? Or bringing in a truck? As always best of luck!!
Thank you! I plan to pour the floor in sections, but probably not until next spring, need to dig plumbing first and that is all after getting the cabin back together!
Next week I will show you how a pro puts mortor on a block. So next week you have someone coming to help you with the blocks?
That’s what I was implying as a joke, but no it will be just me, the amateur, but I intend to improve!
I mean not that I ever subscribe to bribing public officials but,…..maybe a little seed will leave the inspectors in a better mood lol. Keep up the great work.
😂 might have to try that! Of course I don’t want them coming around too often! Hahah thank you!!

@@DemasiLogCabin no worries, keep up the good work we are all pulling for you 👍🏻
Very much appreciated!
Looking fantastic. Could ya leave out 1 bag of cement so it will rain….very dry here in Nebraska too.
I’ll give that a try!
you don't have to find a better table ..... there's so much wood out there ...... build one ..... lol
Agreed! Just don’t have the time, so I use what’s easiest, for now!
you know you can build some shade right ..... or buy a canopy ..... it's worth it
I thought of getting a canopy, but if I just shade the mortar it seems to help considerably!

Thank you, yes the more I do it the easier it was getting, I think!
Thank you! I’ll keep that in mind!
You know what’s irritating about your channel you guessed it the constant noise from you chewing gum 😡😡
You didnt even give me a chance to guess!
