Driving Emerald Bay Drive, highway CA 89, around the west side of Lake Tahoe after snow, March 2024

Emerald Bay is located in Lake Tahoe California on the west side of the lake. The road in this video that I take is highway California 89 and it has many turns and curves that must be taken slow but it also has amazing views of the lake.
This video was shot in 4k on a mounted iPhone 15 Pro Max on Saturday March 9th, 2024.

Beautiful road. It shows it’s currently closed both ways on google maps. Do you know if this is accurate?

Yes, it’s closed! In fact, I tried to take the road Saturday back from Palisades to South Lake, Google said it was ok but it was indeed closed at Emerald Bay & I had to go all the way around.
