You sure are good at backing up. I followed a semi one time 85 miles from one town to the next on icy roads & he went 35 mph the whole way. At one point a car passed us & when we went around the curve, that car was in the ditch. When the truck driver stopped for gas I got out & handed him a $20 bill & told him dinner was on me for him getting me safely to where I needed to go.
Wow that’s awesome story man you’re great for that. Some truckers are true professionals and some shouldn’t have a drivers license period. The snow and ice is definitely the most scary part of trucking. Thanks I try my best to back up safely without any issues or hitting anyone.
Respect ✊️
We're enjoying the video but wish you would put the GOPRO down on your dash instead of your hat or head. We'd love to see more open vision of the road instead of the visor and roof of the truck. 😊
Yeah that’s the only issue man I did some adjustments for better views after the fact. Will try soon again.
Dash cam is way too static. I've seen people having the camera around their neck, and it was fine. Well, not when reversing 😂
I think it was fine dude. Cool video
@@evanram6608 thank you 😃
@@evanram6608 thank you so much 🙏
Put heat on floor. Heat on windshield melts snow which freezes / melts on windshield. If windshield is cool snow will blow right off
Hey man, if you run with the sun visors down when using the defrosters they will help redirect the hot air back to the windshield. It works for me in my Pete 589. Be safe driver!
Hey sir I appreciate the tip will give it a try here soon. 🤝
@@Mike-wv2xd nice never knew that thanks for the suggestions
You’ve got this!!!
Good job DRIVER an thank you for sharing .An thank you for all your delivery,s .please be safe out .❤n prayers for all your journey,s .
Thank you so much glad you like it 🙏
love seeing videos from truckers that I book loads for. Stay safe and keep on trucking.
Thank you so much for keep us moving 🙏
I'm glad I can help! your on the right track. Over 32 yrs of semi and 10 yrs straight truck driving I've seen It never pays to get in a hurry in adverse weather! Keep up the good work!
Wow that’s a long time thanks for working 32 years to keep America stocked and moving.
When driving in snow put the truck in manual automatic and use your hand to hit the up or down arrow if you need a downgrade coming downshift sometimes double downshift that Volvo is great in snow I feel really comfortable driving in the snow
@@timothyarnold7670 yes exactly I always use the down shifter to down shift and it holds the truck in that gear i select thanks for watching
You are doing great, stay the course and stay safe.
I appreciate the kind feedback thank you so much for watching 🙏 will do my best to stay as safe as possible.
Yes de icer windshield washer fluid always works great.
Thank you i will give that a try next time.
Wow dude how stressful driving in the snow like that for 20-30 hours. Can't even imagine. My concentration would fail ... Kudos to you! I will never look at the paper towel at Walmart in the same way again. Truckers really are the lifeblood of the commercial world. The unseen heros.
Yeah everything inside Walmart from your car to the clothes to your home building material everything was moved by a semi truck one time. I appreciate you watching 😃 yes the focus can get hard after 5hrs but safety first so always need to stay alert and focused for sure.
Awesome drive 🚗 👏 right to the end 😅
Thank you sir much appreciated thank you for watching and feedback
Congrats and all the best for today.
Thank you so much ☺️ you also
Great video! Keep it up!
Thank you very much I appreciate you watching and the feedback 🤝
They have experience driving those trucks in the snow
Very smart. Take your time.
Always safety first no rush
Hello from Bulgaria(EU).
Massive thanks to truck drivers all of the world. Your job is very hard and dangerous.
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. And yes I agree is dangerous on the road.
Be glad you weren't down near Bedford, Pa that day. I was....they predicted 1-3" and ended up with little over 6". Was a mess lol
I saw that on the news got lucky 😅
Be safe driver !!!! TrailerJack💪
Will do thank you 🙏
Glad you had a safe trip. Get lots of rest.
Thank you 🙏 we always have a mandatory 10hr rest brake so we should have plenty of rest during that time.
Cleaning yah blades too
I’ve always been told to keep the heat OFF the windshield when it’s snowing. Keeps it from icing up longer.
Really I never tried that I may give it a try next storm thanks for the info. Much appreciated
By doing work on off duty or sleeper birth you are going to exhaust yourself, get into an accident and your company will not back you up. Don’t give them the hours because once you do that for them they will expect it next time and then when you are low on hours and cannot roll you cannot use that because you’ve done it for them. The logbook rules are there to protect you against companies that overwork their drivers
Got you thanks for the tips I love running hard and working hard but sometimes it’s nice to relax and not over work my self
Very good backing skills😁🛫
Thank you! 😃
Thanks for the great video! I’d totally love to switch jobs with you for a couple of weeks. 🙂
As for the ice: I once crossed a Norwegian mountain pass in a winter storm - back and forth on the same day. By car.
We were made to do the drive in a convoys following a snow plow. They gave us an instruction leaflet too. One of the things it said was to turn the window air vent to cold.
On the first pass, I dismissed it as a translation issue and immediately had the snow melt on my warm windshield and froze right after.
On the way back I put on all my warm gear and turned the window vent to hi+cold. No issue with ice whatsoever, the snow just blew right past.
Not sure if I could drive like that for several hours though. Maybe if you have heated seats?
Got it 🤩 wow nice experience thank you for the tips I would switch with you my wife and I love to travel and yes truck has heated and cool seats
Great parking skills 👌
Thanks 😁 🤝
Alcohol fluid be good for keeping your windshield clear I used that when I was driving trucks in England when it got cold I hope it helps you safe driving fella 🇬🇧🇺🇲👍
Hi thank you for the tips I appreciate your support from the UK cheers mate 🤝 🍻
Be safe and good luck.
Will try always to keep safe thank you so much 🙏
Good luck stay safe
Thank you so much trying my best to stay safe
Thanks for a great video. I enjoyed your video more than I have other "truckimg" videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much I appreciate you watching and glad you enjoyed it. 🤝 😃
I put a half a bottle of isopropyl alcohol in washer tank in my personal vehicles to make it better. The alcohol is what melts ice. The higher the percentage the more powerful it is. I definitely dilute it in rainex washer fluid so it is not harmful to paint. It seems to work better and clean better and it smells good. Plus it is a antifreeze for washer fluid
Got it thank you so much for the tip 🤝 there is options for antifreeze deicer you can buy but I will give your method a try one day thank you again.
Just drive what your comfortable with, and your right on light on the breaks! once you hit the breaks hard it's over , if you break traction let of the accelerator to straighten up always pump your breaks to or slow down or to stop in snow. Never HARD BREAK IN ADVERSE WEATHER! GOOD JOB! of driving
Thank you so much for watching and the tips for breaking on snow will help me down the road.
Brakes*
Safe Travels 👍🏻
Hello sir thank you will always be safe as best as I can be thanks for watching 🙏
Congrats driver we need more like you out there on the road maybe less traffic deaths don't ever loose your cautious attitude and keep the rubber on the road unlike swift and crst.
Hey I appreciate it haha swift and crst 😂 I’ll always be cautions and safe thanks for watching and the support
Enjoyed your video dude. )))
Thank you so much I’m glad you did wish I did superview on the camera before this video started I know it was kind of high 🤦🏼♂️ but I appreciate you watching and kind feedback 🤝
Tip from a guy that lives and drives around Williamsport, Pa, when roads are slick, heading west on 80, if you take 180 W to 220 S to 80 W....it is flat and avoids the mountain between 15 and Loganton. Drops you just east of Lamar.
Hey sir thank you for the tip might have to give it a try next time if the roads are really bad and slippery. 🤝
I would turn the bunk heater on, open the curtains, and keep direct heat off of the windshield. That seemed to cut down on the wipers freezing up on my old International...
Oh okay I’ll have to give that a try appreciate your tip and feedback thank you very much
Prestone Windshield De-icer! It’s yellow fluid and a little pricey but the best!
Thank you so much will give it a go
I started driving in 1977 and stopped in 2007 because I broke my back. After a couple surgeries and some healing I’m looking to get back out there.
You have a good head on your shoulders. Be careful and learn as you go.
I’m from Idaho, so I was more comfortable than drivers from the south. In 20 years I never was put out of service, never had a speeding ticket and never had an accident. You can do that as well.
I can’t see your wiper blades, but they look like summer blades. Get winter blades. Also, practice while parked, reach out and pop the blade when it’s at the end. That will knock the ice off the blade.
Please don’t take this wrong. Be careful giving “advice”. You can talk about what you’ve learned and experienced. But until you have at the least 1/2 million miles, you are learning. When I hit my first million, I felt I really could give advice and able to train drivers. I will always be learning and so will you. Wyoming is the worst state to drive through, bar none.
Be careful out there, that’s an order, not a request.
I appreciate it sir thanks for the tips and advice I will definitely keep everything you said in mind to help me as I go. There’s a lot to learn out here each and everyday and I’m doing that one day at a time. I agree Wyoming is no joke in winter ❄️ hope to see out here one day. The wipers I knocked the ice off but it built right back up. Yes you got that correct the blades are for the summer. Thanks for watching and the input that I can learn from much appreciated it. 🤝 🍻
I really enjoyed your video ,driving in snow and ice takes a lot of experience just take it easy
@@lauchieburton5592 yes it’s a little scary but need to be extra cautious and slow driving thank you for watching and the feed back.
Somehow I just adore this truck driver! I appreciate them all I give them all the space they need.
I want my beer to get to the store!!! Lol
Haha I actually delivered a lot of beer I wasn’t doing UA-cam in the past but for sure the company I’ll be running we will haul a lot of beer 🍻 thanks for watching I appreciate you and willing to deliver more beer at your nearest stores distribution center.
You Drive at the speed you feel safe at .
Just found your channel it's fantastic you stay safe on the roads keep warm 👍🇬🇧🇺🇲
Thank you for the support and kind words mate! Cheers.🍻
Wow! Are you sure you're a rookie? That was an excellent display of backing skills at the shipper in the beginning part of your video.
I mean I’m still new actually so I don’t call my self an expert like these guys who drove millions of miles and different type of weather conditions thanks for watching 🤝
I usually put some Antifreeze in my windshield washer fluid and mix it in
Understand thanks for the tip will give it a try
I live at the highest point on I-80 east of the Mississippi, we get snow when no one else does
Yeah I bet all the way up there 😯 thanks for watching
Enjoyed your video dude. Took my licence in 1982, ran my own trucks in the eighties run my business till 2002, packed up and i now move cars round in the uk. Stay safe, drive carefully through the winter dude.😁👍🇬🇧
Hey cheers mate I appreciate you watching and enjoying the video! The times were better back in the day paper logs cheap diesel times changed now it’s harder but still making it work. 🤝
Great content,,only need to adjust the height for better views.
Thank you I appreciate the feedback I realized that I’m sitting too high plus I’m tall so it makes it even worse 🤦🏼♂️ I will try and lower the seat some more and hope it helps in future videos 🤝
Thanks for the stream I love to watch the truckers stream
I appreciate it sir thank you 🙏
Iam from New Jersey and live in Texas now and my parents are still in Pennsylvania we’re are going in your truck and trailer
We need more truck drivers like you that drive safe
Thank you so much for watching always try my best to be safe
Put the heat down on the floor and crack your window a little bit. I used to drive a snow plow and that’s what we all did to keep our windshields from icing up.
Hey sir will give that a go, I appreciate it. Thanks for clearing up the roads for us in the past to keep us all safe out there. 🤝
You can plug a hair dryer in and defrost windshield from the inside of the truck if it gets really bad. Clean the wiper blades with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
lol a hairdryer 😂 haha there is windshield deicer fluid.
Kepppsafe always
Will do thank you for watching 🙏
I am watching from Manchester Michigan, I just subscribed this is cool I’ll watch for more Drive safe
Thank you sir much appreciated it. Stay safe in that crazy winter weather that just came thru there. 🙏
Such a nice country! be safe as always po
Salamat 🙏 😃
Yeah, I agree. Put your go pro down on your dash. Can’t see a whole lot. Betty from Pa.
Hello thank you for watching and feedback it’s been adjusted in the recent videos.
Nice job thanks for letting me ride along may god be with you thanks 😊
Thank you so much I appreciate it god bless you also 🙏
How about a picture o& the full truck….thanks,
Thanks for sharing your trips and deliveries with us. I drove trucks for almost ten years, mostly east of the Mississippi. If I were single I would have had a longer career. I like your attitude regarding winter driving. I saw many a drivers lose their rigs during snowstorms on I-80 and I-40 due to excessive speed on icy roads. Safe travels.
Thanks you for driving truck and moving product around the USA 🇺🇸 for 10 years! Yes it’s dumb to drive very fast in bad weather especially snow and ice thanks for watching I appreciate it.
Drive. Safe. Out there. Praying. For. Your safty
@@JaniceGilliam-wv1mj thank you so much I appreciate it 🙏
Flip the visor down
helps to push the air back to keep to windshield
Yes I did they 2 days ago worked really well. Thanks for the information 🙏 😃
May be if you put your wipers not running constantly instead in putting them on one of the intermittent control it may help or your truck heater is not projecting enough warmth on your front
windshield.
Yes sir I tired different methods recently it worked out with tips and tricks people told me to do.
Godblesyou from Idaho ok
Thank you so much same to you and your family also 🙏
Try putting your sun visors down all most to the windshield. It keeps the heat towards the windshield
Got than a lot will try it next time for sure thank you so much for the help and tips.
hey RunningOTR. seems like you've got a good head on your shoulders--at times i did the same thing thinking acouple mph less would work, and at times it will , other times take 5 or more mph off and you'd be even safer. the trouble is you need to make those dock times..what to do--be safe is #1 save your life and those around you on the road. I liked when you said you'd slow down more keeping a safe distance from truckers ahead of you. It doesn't take much in winter to get into trouble quickly. I also like that you're talking as you drive, that helps to keep you awake. I at times even rolled down windows and put the radio volume up higher than normal . eat well stay healthy sleep when allowed for as long as you can. i don't like watching truckers that don't say a thing any time of the year--boring-- even when the scenery is good. i hope you achieve your goals in trucking, beeee safe ! Ron. i like the first time johnny in the dock great job !
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. Thanks for the nice feedback god bless 🙏
Man I drove through the hills of West Virginia last night, sketchy sketchy
Very sketchy which highway i81 or i64 or i77? I mean they are all sketchy too many hills and steal grades with hard turns
You passed my house! Near where you picked up!
Really nice haha a few people told me that. I appreciate you watching. 🤝
Awesome Video! Continue the good work!
Thank you so much will continue it I appreciate it!
Good job Bro’ my first time watching ‘ ….. YOU SAID IT SAFTEY FIRST BUT, REALLY ITS ALWAYS GOD🙏FIRST ’ THEN SAFETY 😥😂👍🇺🇸.
I agree for me it’s God first family second and then job and safety. Thanks for watching first time and the feed back much appreciated it. 🙏
Wow you are the first truck driver I watch i on here that’s been in my area pretty cool. It strange watching you drive on roads that i know 😂😂
Haha well thank you so much for watching I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos and realizing oh that’s my roads I drive on 😂 I know they place. 🤝
#1 Make no sudden movements
💯
Okay, gotcha. Most importantly, as long as you get there safely is the goal. Be safe out there.
Thank you will do
Good Job My Friend, enjoyed riding with you through the video 👍🏻
I’m glad you enjoyed it thank you so much for watching and kind feedback 🤝
Winter wiper blades would help with the ice.
I appreciate it thank you will consider changing them one of these days
You was in lycoming county pa , 405 in muncy pa
Yes correct sir 💯 accurate.
My home town lol
You might consider getting a window mount for your go Pro.
Yes definitely might have to invest in one here soon.
All you need is a bundle of tea pack candles get at the dollar store couple tin pie plates an a lighter that's enough in a confined space to create above zero heat I am from Canada an have had to use them am they work
Good job bud..Your being safe instead of being sorry...
Trying my best too thank you sir 🙏
What you need its a cb especially in the winter
I got one just don’t install in that company because they always make me switch trucks when I go home. But now I install it in the new company
Put your sunvisor down and it will circulate the heat back across the windshield. I drive a truck for 27 years
Thank you 🙏
Ron dbl clutch again, clear all snow from lights etc while getting fuel, be careful braking, prevent slides don't hit the pumps. this is my first time on this. channel hope you have a safe trip(s) how about putting chains on ?
Thank you so much for the tips and watching I appreciate it! 🙏
Put your visors down and it will spread the heat to the sides of the windshield and melt the frozen areas
Got it appreciate the info will try in the next snow storm
And they be driving 80mph.......thats crazy
Yeah that’s crazy to drive that fast
See you are driving a new truck. The other one was white. I see you are a different company then prime
Two things on the windshield / wipers icing. Those wipers suck, get some beam wipers like Bosch that are one smooth piece. Second, get the purple windshield washer fluid. It’s good down to -30. When you’re in 25 degree temps, and driving 40 the wind chill doesn’t directly make your windshield colder feeling ( like windchill on your skin ) it does however remove heat much quicker and the defrosters can’t keep up. The lower temp ( purple ) washer fluid will help. Another wat to help is to RainX, Rain Clear or Cherakote glass treat your windows. The ice won’t stick to the Cherakote glass treatment.
You seem like a professional driver and conscientious of others on the road. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the tips and helpful information. 🤝
Thanks for moving America on the ground.
Thank you so much trying my best 🙏
Nice video, put your camera in a better and steady place e.g. to show the speedometer, a small part of the bonnet including the front mirrors, and avoid too much speaking. I like to hear the noise of engine.
Got it thank you so much will try different angles I’m just too damn tall even if I put the seat down it’s still too high 🤦🏼♂️
You might need a chest strap. But then we won’t see what you do. We can manage. You do what you can.
@@davelarson5672 I’m trying to record it in a super wide view hope this helps waiting on some feed back from viewers thanks
Out of curiosity, what town is that gas station in the beginning in? The area looks a LOT like this area my navigation weirdly directed me down when I was going to Philadelphia in my car. Pretty sure I filled up there.
Hello thank you for watching it was in Mehoopany PA exact address is 4816 sr 87 mehoopany pa 18629
First Time viewer. I want to watch the rest of the video, bus from your camera angle inside a cab, I can see the front of the truck and for ground to the road, but I can't see very. I prefer the channel, "Riding Shotgun".
Got you new videos are better check the last 2 videos thank you
Awesome video, I just have a suggestion if possible: if your gopro is on your head, any chance to lower it a bit more? we can see a lot of the roof and not the view you're having up the road.
Yes sir I’m trying to make it better in fact I changed the aspect on the recent video hopefully it’s better now thanks for watching.
It sounds like your dispatcher has a decent head on his shoulder. I've been driving since 2006, hauled milk 06-17, now haul pigs....milk always had to go. Pigs, we have some flexibility with, but not much.
Yeah dispatch is really good at what he does that’s for sure. Stay safe out there hauling them pigs 🐖
Way to go in the snow you know, Driver...Good Video...Comonnnnnn.
Comooooon driver 😂 thanks for watching 🤝
Ron dbl clutch--try defrosters--i drove 32 yrs and 3.4 million miles, be safe slow down now retired
Thank you for the tips sir would you say I was running a little too fast for conditions in your opinion? Thanks for transporting good and keeping America stocked and running for 32 years! God bless 🙏
You need to spray de-icer on your windshield before starting your drive.
Known for next ride thru snow and ice 🤝
rainx works good for slush.
Will try that rainx method also one of these days if the other things people mention doesn’t work 😂 thank you
Nice video! What weather app are you using?
Hey thank you so much it’s the accu weather app 🤝
Hi. New subscriber. I would have hit both trailers backing up.
Thanks for the support. It’s hard in the beginning then it becomes more and more easier as you go just still need to be cautious and think you may hit something so you’re paying more attention. 🤝
Saftey tip . Running air in the seat while driving in slippery conditions can delay your reaction to a tractor or trailer breaking loose . Watch your tandom length . All states vary in legnth and will site you . That 14th looks to long . Every truck has different weight in the wagon. Your 29,000lbs is light so you drive accordingly. 40 k comaparsion is a huge difference.
Thanks for the feedback and tips I appreciate it
@@RunningOTR your welcome. Not trying to act like I know it all , you may have known these tips already . Trying to help ..30 years experience here . Good job by the way you did the right thing going slow in that sloppy crap . 👍👍👍
Really liked your video because i live in Williamsport Pa. and have been to that T&A truck stop many times.
Awesome thank you so much for the kind feedback glad you enjoyed it sorry the camera was at bad height. Thanks for watching 🙏
Be very careful if you will drive in the storm. However like you were saying you were not in rush. So If you have to stop because of the road conditions your life his more important than that load.
Yes sir never in a hurry safety first that’s for sure 😃
One or two cap for of 70 percent of rubbing alcohol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
