    For L3 and R3, I have macro on Steam Input. If I hold Select for 2 seconds, LB and LT become L3 and R3. It is really good for trainning mode sessions. If I hold again, it restores the default setup.

    I got my F300 yesterday and immediately upgraded it with silent buttons from Sanwa. I have nothing against the stock buttons, I just needed silent ones. I couldn't install the Sanwa JLF stick because my 5-pin connectors haven't arrived yet. I also ordered a freak mod. The factory stick and buttons were surprisingly good and very clicky (which I like), but I needed to upgrade them due to personal needs.
    The box, despite being small, was very comfy and I could tell one could play on this for hours without getting tired. The angular shape of the box makes it pleasurable for your hands and to have on your lap. It reminds me of my other fightstick the Quanba Dragon. These are just my 1st impressions, let's see how it goes over time.

      @@ZefMan6 I get my fight stick supplies from a store called ArcadeShock and they sell the Sanwa silent 30 mm this stick takes for 03.30 USD each. In the end I decided that I wanted the bumper/triggers to feel different than the regular A/B/X/Y buttons. So I went with Quanba Galaxy buttons for those and used the Sanwa Silent for the bumpers/triggers. The Galaxy sell in that site for 04.25 USD each.

    I purchased the non xbox version pre-owned works great with my Analogue Pocket Dock makes playing arcade games a lot better and more fun than using a game pad. Great video! I just ordered the F500 Elite. Do you recommend keeping the 4-way or swapping out to the 8-way gate? Most of my experience with arcade sticks is from actual arcades and unless I'm wrong, most Japanese fighting games used 4-way I believe? Wasn't sure if this was purely a preference thing or if certain fighting games worked better with different gates.

    • @Zevaeros
      @Zevaeros 11 місяців тому +3

      Technically, both included gates are 8 way; MF includes the square gate (default) and an octo gate. A true 4 way gate (like what was used in Pac-Man games) restricts you to the four cardinal directions while most others allow movement in 8 directions (there are 2 way gates as well, e.g. for Galaga).
      Square is the default for modern/JPN style; if you're used to US sticks then octo will likely feel more comfortable.

    • @KageMaru10g
      @KageMaru10g 11 місяців тому

      @@Zevaeros That's a good point, I worded it wrong. I guess what I'm wondering is which of the two most would recommend. My stick defaults to a square gate, but also includes the octo gate and am wondering which I should focus on or if there were any advantages to getting used to either?

    • @Zevaeros
      @Zevaeros 11 місяців тому +1

    Kind of curious. Does anybody make a arcade stick similar to the F300/500 where the turbo is a potentiometer knob (adjustable) instead of just a mode A/B/Off. Think like the old NES Advantage controller on the OG NES. I'm more interested in playing games like Mega Man, Aero Fighters, TMNT Shredders Revenge, etc ... Not tournament fighting games, and a tunable turbo would be a feature I'd pay a "little" bit more for.

    • @Zevaeros
      @Zevaeros 7 місяців тому

      I haven't seen that for a long, long time...
      The closest thing for adjustable turbo that I'm aware of is GP2040-based setups being able to set shot rate in the back end.

    • @Zevaeros
      @Zevaeros 4 місяці тому +1

      I haven't tested on it myself, but given they support XInput they should all be compatible. 8BitDo doesn't seem to officially support it, FWIW.
      Given I have a bias toward the aesthetics and feel of the 8BitDo as I had a NES Advantage back in the day, that's my pick. The MayFlashes are more cross-system compatible though.

      Qanba, Hori, Etokki... Turning your palm all the way over on the wide platform feels WRONG when you've spent that many hours playing the way you do. My SFIV Tournament stick ended up in the closet because I'm also a controller player and I just couldn't do it. A giant platform on your lap is also going to be uncomfortable.
      Some people like Hayabusa components but they're slippery.
      I played with my friend's F300 Elite and for once was comfortable (Took third at the Nekocon Tekken tournament.) As someone transitioning from controller to stick, the short platform and Sanwa Pro components are going to feel best for you. Perhaps down the road you can look at playing with a wider platform stick but don't be a dummy like me and up with a stick in the closet because it reduced your performance from being uncomfortable.
      There's people out there that are going to be biased towards their Etokki or whatever because they're pretty. If they say it's because the components are better, that's just not true. Anyone worth their salt knows Sanwa Pro components are top of the line. What feels good is best and for controller players like us, F300 Elite feels best.

      Hypothetically, it might be possible -- however, the issue is clearance. The K-Levers I've seen are way bigger in the main body than the JLF and likely won't fit. An alternative is to look into the Otto v2 mod.
