That's a 3ft diameter tree! I only know this because I once chopped down a similiar sized tree with an axe. It took a while lol. Some wedge blocks and a sledgehammer helps the process along nicely. Nice drop either way.
Thanks, Doug I am sitting here sipping my coffee and you said, "Look what we accomplished YOU and me." Great that was really easy glad to help out...😂😂😂😂😂😂love you guys ❤❤🧡🧡💛💛💙💙💚💚💜💜🤎🤎
Good work on the tree. Lots of wonderful hardwood to use for creating a piece of furniture. I hope you recover from the Fire ants. There are indeed demons!
Doug, Do some research & see if there are any portable sawmill operators in your area that would be willing to slab that tree trunk up for you. Just a thought. Keep up the good work. Peace ✌️
I really enjoyed the popping and cracking sounds and the slow movement as the tree fell. I do enjoy the everyday life, no hustle and bustle , slow and easy life you have.
When you are bitten by fire ants, make some mud and smear it on your bites. The bumps do not blister, the redness goes away, and no more scars. I learned this accidentally when I was planting in my garden. I dug holes for the already established plants, filled the holes with water, and started placing the plants in each hole. Fire ants were running everywhere and bit both of my hands. I dipped my hands in the water and dirt (mud) to get rid of the ants which did not work. I finally slapped them off. I never broke out! I have used this many times and it works every time. I didn’t place mud on one lone bite and it was itchy and blistered. I even used it on my granddaughter and it worked on her as well. I know this sounds crazy, but it works.
White vinegar works wonders. Florida Native here and white vinegar stops the itching and scratching and they don’t blister. Also great for jellyfish stings! I’ve learned the hard way a time or two or ten.
Thank you so much. I have experienced them in small doses which is bad enough BUT recently I stepped on a mound I didn’t see, and holy coooowww! I couldn’t get my flip flops off fast enough. Even beating them off my feet sent them running up my hands, wrists and arms. I now know what Hades feels like, lol. And the itching afterwards is almost worse. Seriously, thank you for anything that helps.
Doug was quite the lumberjack. According to his measurements the diameter of the tree would have been around 3 feet. Like a David against a Goliath he was able to take it down with the small chain saw. A very satisfying tree drop 😊 Thanks for bringing us along.
Pretty good sized tree! Better to deal with it now before any storms/hurricanes come through and make the decision for you. At least you put it down where you wanted it. Shouldn't you be wearing protection eye gear? YES, Yes you should be.
That was so COOL !!!!!AWESOME!!!!! Doug now that little saw & YOU did a great job. Evee do you ever think his brain is in constant thinking mode & never rests. Or do you just say DOUG WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Yet again he does the unthinkable a tiny saw & one man cuts massive tree down. I really enjoyed watching & hearing this tree fall. I guess I don’t get off the farm much & well I’m easily entertained at my age 62 lol. GOD BLESS from West Central Indiana Farmland
Florida girl here. If you have fire ants better nip that in the bud. They can take over a property pretty quickly & almost impossible to stop when that happens. Happened to us.
Well Doug I got to let you know buddy I've cut down a lot of trees and I've never had any tree sound like that and I think that was really really awesome the way it crackled a little bit and stuff like that that was a beautiful Drop good job brother
Doug, I wondered why you didn't use a few wood wedges to force the tree to fall quicker? You did a pretty good job taking that huge tree down with your battery powered chain saw. I can't believe you stood near a fire ant nest and cut that tree down. You are braver than me and definitely have a higher pain tolerance. lol Phil
Doug and E V, I was biting my nails waiting for that tree to fall!! That little chain saw was a mighty tool! Who knew it would take care of a job so massive? I’m glad it fell where it did and everyone is safe. Sorry about the fire ants. Take care.💕
I LOVE the sound of trees cracking and dropping!! 😍 We just dropped a bunch of trees and two of them were huge black walnut trees! Great video!! Hugs 💞
We had a fire on our wooded property which damaged several large trees. We got a quote to have them taken down. About $700 per tree. You saved yourself a lot of money there! And I loved the footage of the fall. So fun.
Unfortunately trees die. Which is why you should never plant them too close to the house. I’ve been taking out mine since I moved in. Thankfully they’re not this big. I’ve got a small battery powered chainsaw. Great job Doug
That was amazing! I honestly didn’t think you could get it cut with that small chainsaw! 👏👍👏👍 Those bites are going to be miserable but I guess better to be bit up with the tree down in your way and time than when and how you didn’t want it down. I hope you heal quickly! 💕
This was epic! Look at your cedar, a pencil compared to it's neighbor, the mighty oak, but still standing so strong and tall. Great video! My heart was A-POUNDING with those creaks! Love and blessings to you all! Prayers your ant bites don't get near as bad as fire ant bites can! 🙏
* * Maybe you can make something out of slices.. a wall clock or table.. or just a stump to cut firewood. a side table next your outdoor chairs.. idk.. =D
Doug please use antiseptic mouthwash like Listerine. It can even be the cheap Dollare tree knock off. It helps with the pustules from the ants. It stops the itching too. Cuts down on the scarring because you are not scratching at this and cut the infection from the ant heads under the skin.
Wow......A new video with my morning coffee....yay! Big tree coming down....loved hearing the cracking as it slowly gave up....TIMBER! Glad no one was hurt but sorry about the fire ants. Hopefully you will recover quickly once you get some meds on those bites. Til then, take care. Great video.
Be careful. Stand off to the side. Do not stand behind the second cut (not the wedge). When we had 19 dead ash trees cut from our front yard I saw a pro come very near death. The hinge let go and in under a second the base of the trunk shot backwards about 4-5 ft as the tree fell and missed a guy by not much more than a couple inches.
Great footage! Thankfully the camera was not destroyed. I was holding my breath as the tree creaked and fought gravity. Mission accomplished indeed! Well done family!
Keep the tree keep the wood, you can have that milled and use as counter tops base board you name it. Also you have enough land to camp out so that's firewood as well
That was very cool! I've always enjoyed watching trees get cut down and love the sounds they make as they fall. We had several done on our property a few years ago. I have my fingers crossed for the camera.
When I moved to Oklahoma from Florida almost 30 years ago I thought I thought I had seen the last of fire ants. WRONG! They have now made it all the way to Central Oklahoma and they sting just as bad up here as they did down there.
It was truly amazing, how long it took for that tree to finally fall after the cuts had been done! The creaks and pops of the wood straining were so dramatic, LOL
Well done! We have cut down a lot of trees on our property Dead trees can be dangerous Our neighbor has 5 dead trees along our shared property line. And surprise Two of the llive ones have fallen over in a storm! One fell on our side. 62 ft fur tree. Try cutting that up With a 14 “ chain saw Such fun! Glad your came down safely.
It's one of the battles of living in the south fire ants. Painful little buggers! Good job with the tree and Maybe Belle can get out there with a magnifying glass and count and see how many rings there are! My guess is about 100 years old it looked like an oak tree was it?🔥🇺🇸🙏🤟!
I don't know when this was filmed, but, wet the bites with water then sprinkle baking soda over the bites. The baking soda will soothe the stinging and dry up the pustules. This is also what I do for bee/wasp stings.
That's a 3ft diameter tree! I only know this because I once chopped down a similiar sized tree with an axe. It took a while lol.
Some wedge blocks and a sledgehammer helps the process along nicely. Nice drop either way.
I am impressed. Big trunk, little saw. Great content. Great fall.
Thanks, Doug I am sitting here sipping my coffee and you said, "Look what we accomplished YOU and me." Great that was really easy glad to help out...😂😂😂😂😂😂love you guys ❤❤🧡🧡💛💛💙💙💚💚💜💜🤎🤎
You worked with what you had, got it done and nobody was hurt. Great job!
Doug you just loved every minute of this. I loved your joy and smile afterwards!
Peace ✌️
Wow! That was awesome! Sorry you got all bit up . Take care

Great info. Fire ants are the worst.
White vinegar works wonders. Florida Native here and white vinegar stops the itching and scratching and they don’t blister. Also great for jellyfish stings! I’ve learned the hard way a time or two or ten.
Mustard works also for bites
It works on bee stings too!

Doug, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with a bigger smile. This is a great video. And to add to drama is the supporting cast of fire ants.
Pretty good sized tree! Better to deal with it now before any storms/hurricanes come through and make the decision for you. At least you put it down where you wanted it. Shouldn't you be wearing protection eye gear? YES, Yes you should be.
Yes, that was epic. Welcome to the family of cool country folk.
Id go buy some Dawn soap right now. Its sure worth a try!
So exciting to listen to and watch.
That was so COOL !!!!!AWESOME!!!!!

Cool video! Loved hearing the cracking sound. Hope you feel better soon Doug!

THE SLOWEST tree falling I've ever seen! Great job.
I LOVE the sound of trees cracking and dropping!! 😍 We just dropped a bunch of trees and two of them were huge black walnut trees! Great video!! Hugs 💞

You crack me up. We too, live in the country. Doesn't take much to entertain us, Ha! That was a dramatic fall and crash. 😄
Great job. The tree would have fallen 5 minutes earlier if you yelled "Timberrrrrr". It was waiting on your cue.
That was awesome! Ugh fire ant bites were my welcome to Florida gift when we moved there.
Wow I held my breath a few times for that one Doug, Now the hard part starts it is beautiful wood .
WOW! It's a miracle you didn't get hurt at all.
WOW that was great to watch and hear. Great job with such a small chainsaw.
You guy’s have a wonderful safe weekend ❤
Wow! That's all I can say!!! That must have been something else in real life. Thanks for the video.
Unfortunately trees die. Which is why you should never plant them too close to the house. I’ve been taking out mine since I moved in. Thankfully they’re not this big. I’ve got a small battery powered chainsaw. Great job Doug
That was pretty cool to watch, I too liked the crackling. Great video
That was amazing! I honestly didn’t think you could get it cut with that small chainsaw! 👏👍👏👍 Those bites are going to be miserable but I guess better to be bit up with the tree down in your way and time than when and how you didn’t want it down. I hope you heal quickly! 💕
As a gardener, I would remove the vines growing on trees you want to keep. They will eventually kill your trees. ❤
That was cool! Thanks for sharing!
Well done totally impressed

* * Maybe you can make something out of slices.. a wall clock or table.. or just a stump to cut firewood. a side table next your outdoor chairs.. idk.. =D
The only thing missing was someone yelling "TIMBER!"
Doug please use antiseptic mouthwash like Listerine. It can even be the cheap Dollare tree knock off. It helps with the pustules from the ants. It stops the itching too. Cuts down on the scarring because you are not scratching at this and cut the infection from the ant heads under the skin.
Exciting, great job
Awesome drop! I’m sure you saved a lot of money!
Probably saved around $500 to $1,000 doing it ourselves.

I have dropped a lot of trees in my time but never encountered such a slow drop. Cool though I have to say!
Most suspenseful tree drop ever!! Thanks for sharing guys!❤
That was really cool!
Phenomenal how you just dropped that tree not only with a baby chainsaw but a battery powered one
I haven’t held my breath like that in forever 😳🤣!!!!
Good job, Doug ❤❤❤

Very very good video!! Thank you for sharing.Oh the Suspense 😀

When I moved to Oklahoma from Florida almost 30 years ago I thought I thought I had seen the last of fire ants. WRONG! They have now made it all the way to Central Oklahoma and they sting just as bad up here as they did down there.
Hey Doug, the ending was epic
Epic fall! The suspense was awesome! Sorry you had to endure so much pain for our enjoyment.
It was truly amazing, how long it took for that tree to finally fall after the cuts had been done! The creaks and pops of the wood straining were so dramatic, LOL
I wash my fire ant bites with soap and water, dry and then use Balmex diaper cream on them. No blisters and no itch afterwards.
you made yourself a natural bridge!!
I learned to spray my shoes with ant killer and bug repellent. That kept the fire ants off me.❤
I am buying that saw.
That was some pretty wood!! Wow! A BIG tree!!
Yep, it was a live oak tree.
@@diyfferent thanks for the info 🤟🔥😉
I don't know when this was filmed, but, wet the bites with water then sprinkle baking soda over the bites. The baking soda will soothe the stinging and dry up the pustules. This is also what I do for bee/wasp stings.
Fantastic mission accomplished. The vines growing up trees do choke out trees more that people realize. It was time for it to go. Great work.
