Minute 17...I know exactly how that feels. I have a nine and seven year old. I wish I could spend more time with them even when I'm with them. The present may be hard at times, but even those moments become precious once they pass. Savoring and enjoying every single moment with the kids is the best you can do. Before I had kids a mom I know said, "Kids just break your heart." I asked her what she meant and she talked about how they were just always growing away from you. I didn't get it at the time, but now that my girls are closing in on twenty, I've understood what she was saying so many times over. Breaks your heart and fills it of any afternoon.
Feel you bro. And 50/50 no matter how hard you try. I'm batting .3 with my 3. Wasn't for lack of trying and hurtful seeing a loved kid just keep taking wrong turns. Took me 25 years to understand I should shed the guilt and be happy they are alive and not in jail or sick. A lot of parents deal with way worse and make it thru. Can't blame anyone but if you tried your best you take that.

Edited to add: I didn't know where this video was going , as I commented half way through, but what you said about your kids is more true than you know.... I'm an old man, my only child is grown up married and has gifted me two beautiful granddaughters now 11&12yrs. old....
It seems like only yesterday that my own baby was born, I blinked and suddenly she's all grown up and a mother, now the next time I blink my grandbabies will be grown and maybe mothers also, or who knows, maybe I won't be around for that; but the moral of this is.... You are right, enjoy those moments with your kids, they come and go all too quickly and in the end those memories are all you will take with you to the 'other side'....Thank you for sharing that with us also, as for you getting emotional, that tells me YOU get it....Love to you and your family.......

Congrats on your new little one! You could not have described what it feels like as they get older any better. My two daughters are 26 and 22 doin their own thing and doing well. You will transition from the day to day worries and concerns of parents with smaller kids to truly having companions and family that you enjoy as they grow into functioning adults. Then u get the atta boy!!!

It is hard not getting caught up in looking back at how great those moments were, and you lose the "now". I have 10 year and 8 year old girls, and I love thinking about how sweet and innocent they were at infant to now. I tried to live in the moment and appreciate it, but sometimes I catch myself looking back as if it was the peak of goodness. But every day and every stage is beautiful. I love that you expressed your appreciation of those perfect moments in life. GOOD JOB!

Because of that I have hours of of my dad and my son on our boat he passed away this man but I am extremely grateful I have all those hours of footage. My son was only two and a half and he can still pick out Papa out of a photo and it makes me happy that he also will have those memories forever. Funny but my oldest just turned 20 years old a few weeks ago and it seems like yesterday he was born. He's in college and becoming more independent by the day. I know exactly where you caught that fish just by where you were prepping everything and the big rock island in front of the spot. Such a cool spot to just enjoy the view wouldn’t have ever imagined someone would fish that spot cuz of the terrain but damn great fish. Congrats.
Few other spots with a few anchors set in as well. Some of the coves around there used to have better access until the erosion ate away at some of the little trails on the edge. Really need to get a safety line before you traverse any of it imo one slip and thats it.
Clarified butter or ghee. Olive oil has a low smoke point. On the other subject of children. You're right about growing up fast. I've got 3 boys fully grown now. My 8 year old son would chase me down the street on his bicycle when I would leave for work. He didn't want me to leave. Tear your heart. I also remember #2 moment when he was 13 and we both sprinted across a busy road and he grabbed my hand. I remember thinking that it would be the last time he would hold my hand in that way. Seems like yesterday. I grew up in San Diego. Got to fish from Point Loma to Lake Murray. Love your channel bro. Take care on those cliffs.

It’s definitely bitter sweet. I have those moments probably once or twice a week. My daughter is 6 and my son is 2 and it’s just crazy to know that they definitely grow up fast.! I definitely tear up when these moments happen so it’s okay to cry because it’s tears of happiness that you get to be the lucky one to raise them and nurture them the absolute best you can and see them become more independent while doing so.!

as far as oils for frying I have found the best to be rice bran oil, it has a smoke point close to peanut oil but none the allergy potential and is a very clean oil. thank you for the video and congratulations on the kiddo

Great vid as always! As for the oil question for cooking....Extra Virgin Olive Oil from a glass container will be healthiest for fish, some like coconut oil or avocado oil, those 3 are best. For red meats, tallow, butter or ghee are healthiest (grass fed if you can find it).

Dude, get some heavy cream and put in like a mason jar or something with a lid. Then shake it up for like 5-10 mins. Eventually when you do it long enough, the liquid will separate from the solid and you will be left with butter and the liquid will be butter milk. Though you may need like a gallon of heavy cream to get enough butter for you to use for 1 fish, lol. I love butter too!
