It’s weird thou because she was texting more naughty stuff to him than he was to her….so I dunno but the whole thing seems like a win win for her, she’s a hero, gets a art career and famous. He gets a settlement check from the university and gets to live with this over his head forever. This is “progressive” i guess.

as a victim of sexual assault by someone i went to school with and having transferred schools because no one believed me and a fight a losing battle in this justice system, i am sick to my stomach that people lie about rape. I saw this title and i wanted to see what i could take from it since i related to it. i WISH i had the privilege to say that im lying. this is disgusting, and this is why it's so hard to get justice for real victims. i feel like im on fire having watched this video and read the comments.
I'm sorry that happened to you. My best friend just told me she was raped recently by a guy she knew. It's heartbreaking and things like this infuriate me because I know if she ever comes forth about it(she's not going to) people will probably immidiately compare her to this girl to discredit her. Videos like this are infuriating. They are taking justice even further away not bringing it.
it made me sick when i found out she lied, because i genuinely thought she was a survivor and sharing her testimony would help other survivors. people like this only make it harder for more people to come forward and actually take legal action if they so desire. as a survivor, it’s so gross to me when people lie because that’s not something that you should just “claim” happened, unless it ACTUALLY happened.
The piano music to make this story seem so sad is the only believable thing. Mattress girl admitted she lied. Her texts message are on the internet to read yourself. She wanted attention and has no issue with the trauma she said was why she didn’t report right away, she carried a mattress around for a year and never turned a interview down. The “rapist” was cleared and even received a full payout for his trauma that he had to go through and still will because some crazy lady made him a part of her attention seeking lie. Rape is a crime. Why is it the job of universities to conduct criminal investigations? Did it not occur to these women to go to the police who are actually trained in doing these investigations? It not the job of educators to find these men (or women) guilty or innocent. What make anyone think they are qualified?
they don't go to the police for one reason...first it takes lots of time to sit and talk to investigators that are gonna ask many questions, second its hard to keep lying to cover for your other lies...also they don't go because 999,999 times out of 1,000,000 a rape never occurred.

The guy gave his story to The Daily Beast including months of chat logs before, during and months after the supposed rape which the woman confirmed were legitimate, complete and without redaction. They show her saying "Jean-Paul, Also, I love you", "Whatever. I want to be with youyouyouyouyouyou" and "We seen some Emma and Paul time together to talk about life and things. We haven't been together since summmmmmeeeeerrrr". Emma said she'd send annotations of the chat log explaining why although they were complete and she was saying she loved the man that supposedly brutally anally raped her...the day before.....and then declined the next day to do annotations. I'm not too surprised. Any story one could come up with for why you would say 'I love you' to someone that anally raped you the day after would sound so phony.

The reason this is happening is because the Obama administration forced universities in 2011 to change the rules on such cases. Ie little if any due process to the accused and redefining assault to include just about anything including numerous ambiguos situations. There are people who only claimed s assault after talking to gender studies teachers about it. They actually didn't think it was before they got indoctrinated into thinking so. This is also the reason gender issues exploded into proeminence in the mid 2010s. Students who were educated in this new highly punitive no due process environment suddenly got politically active. Many of them had no clue about the real legal standard for assault but only because universities had a vastly expanded Obama approved standard shoved down their throat. That was the only thing they knew. The Obama administration did not create the social justice movements that got airtime starting in the mid 2010s and onwards. But his administration created the perfect environment for these to flourish. By eliminating common sense rules about hot button topics an entire generation quickly adopted a new far more north korean style of justice.

Tip to women raped at college or elsewhere: 1) call the police, file a complaint; 2) get a rape kit at hospital; 3) follow-up to put the rapist in jail. Get a CCP, Concealed Carry Permit, always carry a loaded handgun, hunting knife, Mace, etc. College administrators are not the local police and won't put the rapist in jail and usually do nothing except shuffle papers.
Liars usually don't go to the police because they ask the most questions and will eventually figure out that she is lying....so getting the victim kicked out of school is the next best thing.

As someone that has been through an allegation that had No truth to it and charged in a criminal court and I took no deals and including saying no to a walk away card with No plea and the record to be marked as a dismissal, I pushed it to trial risking years in prison and won, I think it's better that the lying accusers are not prosecuted. My concern is all the other men that are wrongly accused--I was one and not many go to trial and take deals. I am damn lucky because being innocent doesn't generally matter at trial. But here's the way I look at it, and again, my concern lies with the wrongly accused men. It's a mathematical equation as I see it. Should women be looking at prosecution, they will do a better job and all come to court. My accuser, a woman I had not known existed, didn't try to "get" me at trial. She knew she had gotten it wrong, and did not want to risk all that goes with being a liar or a crazy person so she went through the motions. This happens a lot. Then I also am concerned that innocent women will be caught up in this. The system is so corrupt, should accusers be put on trial I don't think the courts will care which accusers are telling the truth or lying. So using math, between the men that might go to prison that were innocent, and the accusers that are innocent that might go to prison, I think it is better to not prosecute accusers, at least those that make a single accusation.
Although most accusations are not true btw, the type case in this clip is not common. This is not how the accusation typically morphs. They all suck, and all destroy a man's trajectory. Most do not get past it as it changes you and I was the lucky among the unlucky declared not guilty. I am happy that I wasn't young when it happened so my youth was normal. College age is unimaginable.
