This book has always caught my attention because it seems like since the late 90s it has been a main stay on the discount shelves of places like Books A Million and the amazing cover just always caught my eye, but I’ve never decided to tackle it. Your review definitely makes me want to start…especially after seeing it for 20+ years.
Yeah, I remember always seeing those prominent spines dominating the Scifi/Fantasy section of my local library
What a great series! Not sure why it’s not more popular. Thanks for reviewing and bringing some deserved attention to it.
This is the series I think I look at the most and never start. Will have to change that.
Engagement comment for the algorithm 😁 Thank you for the video. It was fun.
"Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn" are all I've read of his, but absolutely loved them. I just began "The Last King of Osten Ard" the other day, and I'm so in to it. I totally share your enthusiasm for Tad Williams.
I might give this a try. My usual problem with VR stories, even The Matrix, is that things in the virtual world are made so important when a lot of the problems could be solved in the real world. This is what left me feeling unfulfilled after reading Snow Crash.

Mean to start book 2 sometime soon! I love that Tad gives recaps in his series for those that dont jump right into the next book or have life get in the way.
love the otherland books i have them all in swedish hardcover, thats 8 books
I also remember the prologue got the hooks in me quickly
I bought the Forgetting Moon e-book in April (from Google Play for pitiful 2.99 €) but only recently got to reading it and am currently past half way and have been loving it!
Due to becoming a fan I also discovered your channel and happy to see that City Of Golden Shadow is actually your favorite. I've had that book in my shelf for about three years (got a paperback for free) and I wasn't sure if I was ever going the read it since it's scifi and what's the point if there are no swords or even proper throwing axes in them but now I thinking I'll fit them to my TBR.
Loved this series. So creative and imaginative premise, good characters, and 10/10 cover art.
Once I catch up on the Last King of Osten Ard books that are currently out I'm gonna dive into this series. Tad Williams has slowly become one of my favorite authors.
Fantastic series!
Subscribing to your channel is one of the best things I’ve done in an while.
Just bought these, got all 4 for £12 unfortunately they won't match as the first is a hardback and the others are paperbacks, but very happy with the price 🤘
I'm really enjoying Ken Grimwood's Replay. I saw Otherland #1 on the store shelf and got interested in it.
You don't by any chance sell copies of otherland?
Always looking for new contemporary reads of good writing caliber. Not so easy to find as much of what is being written is done so poorly. Will check this out.
I read this series, I remember enjoying it, but I barely remember the plot. Solid writer and a very good wordsmith regardless.
This series is an absolute masterpiece. I feel like it should be acknowledged as some of the best sci-fi of all time.
