I am about to clean the engine of my W211 with foaming engine cleaner before replacing the EGR valve plus the various vacuum hoses with which the engine is equipped (I purchased these, about a dozen in total, economically from Rock Auto). Anyway, I picked up a can of CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner Spray while I was at the auto parts store. This video showed me how to remove and replace my MAF sensor - and just as in the video - it was an easy job. My car isn't throwing any codes, but because it has 140k miles, I thought it better to go ahead and give it a cleaning while I have my hands in the engine bay. You did a very nice job of demonstrating this procedure for removing and replacing the MAF sensor and I congratulate you for your fine effort. Well done!
Hi Auto Repair Guys. Thank for the Video which demonstrated the removal and installation of MAF sensor . But I suggest your used replacement MAF. deserve good spray cleaning as I always done with my 02 Mercedes C240 and 04 Volvo V40 whenever I replaced the Air Filter as part of preventive maintenance and so far I never replaced any MAF. sensor in either vehicles, but just cleaned them regularly to avoid a lot of headache and costly unnecessary repair.!
Thanks that helped out a lot on taking out the MAF. I needed to clean the EGR tube and couldn't figure out how the take that first clamp off. Thank you again
Brilliant, thanks for taking the time to share this excellent video! Takes all of the guess work out of this task, I have been reluctant to tackle this problem on my C230, but now I will do the job and hopefully get rid of the engine light on the dash! Tq guys.
Ofcourse before changing your MAF-Sensor make sure the fuse #24 (Second blue 15-amp fuse from the back, middle row, driver-side under hood) is not burned.
How does the lower part of the tube secure to the intake? I mean the plastic part that the AFM snaps in to. My car just pushes on and off and I think thats why I am having AFM issues (error P0100) because unmetered air is entering. I would assume it should have some sort of clip or jubilee to hold the lower part onto the intake, but mine has nothing and just pulls on and off with the whole AFM unit.
Hello I have a 2005 e500 w211 I have crank but dies after 3-5 seconds after starting.. I changed my crankshaft position sensor and also fuel pump checked all fuses and relays look good can it be that my mas air flow sensor is bad ..? I also put starter fluid and it starts but turns off 5 seconds after being on
Hi guys, why does this M112 not have an engine oil cooler mounted to oil filter housing? I noticed most E320' M112 don't have the cooler but the E240 has the cooler. Thanks
I have a 2006 c230 and I been having the code p2190 to rich idle bank 2 and p2188 to rich idle bank 1 my check engine light goes on and off it will stay on for some time and then will go off dor some time i took it to a mechanic and told me it was the mass MAF SENSOR bad the idle is not rough .. and i dont have miss fires any ideas on what it my be ..thanks an advance
@@RushVisarn Apparently they connected it to that Xentry diagnosis tool and it was showing code 2734 (the internal electrical check of component y3/8y3 (k2 clutch control solenoid valve VGS) has failed).
I’ve replaced so much stuff on my w211 e55 amg because peace of mind for the future , so no future issue happens and I can easily find problems because I know what parts have been replaced

Thank you guys, I was able to change MAF on CLK350. Little different but used your video for motivation.
Thanks for the simple step by step process. Saved my some $$$, found the OEM Bosch part on eBay for $65 and saved on the labor.

Question: can a mass airflow sensor go bad and not throw an engine code?
My w211 won't go past 40 mph... I heard this is related to the MAF sensor. Is it possible to just clean it?
Yes Very easy . On the side of MAF you see 2 screws take off in less than 1 minute

My car turned on and then died after, could the maf sensor cause the car to shut off
There 2 screws on the side of MAF takeit off then clean it .
How much is that part?
spray it with MAF cleaner and try that before you buy!
