Gonna be tackling this tomorrow. Malfunction electrical consumer and red battery lights been on dash for ages. Finally it doesn’t want to hold charge anymore. Time to fix it now. Hopefully the voltage regulator fixes the problem. Thanks for the video guide.
did the voltage regulator fixed it? I just bought a new battery and aux battery for my e500 2005 but it says sbc and battery isnt charging stays at 11v even when car is on idk
Hola saludos muy bien video , tengo un Mercedes e320 una pregunta la batería auxiliar debería recibir cargar si la mido con un multímetro con el vehículo encendido debería dsr 14.20
hello, my w211 takes few minutes to start charging or i have to revive the engine then voltage raise to 14v and red betterie check vanishes what do u think do i need to change the alternator brushes or change the regulator
You video shows a 2003 E320, is that correct? My 2000 E320 seems not have the auxiliary battery, but I am not 100% sure. If there is one, where is it located for 2000 E320? Thank you!
Not all are fitted with the auxiliary battery but if it does have one it will be by the firewall, under the air box, on the passenger side of the vehicle under the hood.
I have an 09 and battery light comes on sometimes, but when restarting the car the light goes away, this can happen every 3-4 days, changed the regulator and clean the points, what could it be? Any help will be appreciated
Okay so getting the error bat conv. So I replaced the little battery under hood still on so I bought the voltage regulator hope this works I may need new battery in trunk
pretty helpful video. I have a SL500 (2006) with the same issue (Battery red Light - Visit Workshop), replaced front battery and also the one on the trunk, also replaced voltage regulator...guess what? yep light still ON !! does anybody really found the solution? Besides going to "MB Workshop" ?? 😂 Appreciate the help !!!
Check battery connections make sure there is no corrosion. If you haven't yet test the alternator itself as well. I have this same issue currently on my E320. Praying the regulator is my issue because I've already replaced both batteries and there are no corroded connections as far as I can tell.
@1n2333 have the outside temperature selected in the menu and click the black button three times, there's a built in volt meter, it's supposed to read above 12v when operating.
Yes, the alternator does come with a voltage regulator. I’m not sure if you’re referring to your vehicle dying while driving or dying overnight but if your vehicle is dying overnight, you most likely have a bad battery or one of the computers is draining the battery.
@@uzairkh813 if this light is on and the alternator has been tested and it says that it has a voltage regulator issue then this is mostly the fix. If the car batteries are being drained over night you have a parasitic voltage draw happening
most of time the junction box could cause the battery drain fast too . I just replace my alternator and battery but still showing battery low message. after I replace the junction box under the passenger foot rest. and everything works normal.
Drive it into a lake before u spend 20k on this junk box. I have the same year. Fuel pump, engine mounts, power steering pump, control arms, chain tensioner, radio stops working periodically, ......the list goes on. Only 145k miles.
That was difficult, good job.
Great video very helpful
Thanks very helpful , i even used the gloves to keep my fingernails clean
Great info! Thank you! Donyou have a link for the voltage regulator?

Did that work
Did you do reset or program after changed it?
No I didn’t have to.
how do you diagnose the regulator?
Just got a new alternator though

Does the battery die over night?
Were you able to get the alternator tested to see if it had a voltage regulator issue?
Could be an alternator fuse if it does overnight

Just a follow up Did that solve the problem?
Yes it was the fix to the issue

Do alternators come with new voltage regulators because I just changed my alternator and my car keeps dying

I have a e500 and both of my batteries keep dying even tho I just charged them. Would this fix it?
It depends on if it dies over night or while you are driving it.
@@2EZEverythingwhile driving it? Can u tell plz

I think mine 2004 Mercedes Benz you e320 don't have to pull out alternator thank god

doesn't look worn though?
New batteries as well
Regler nije kvar , nešto drugo je ???
You missed one very important step before you remove the alternator : disconnect the battery first .
He states at 5:25 and 5:56 ... it is recommended to disconnect the battery .
My bad, I didn't continue to watch when he start to remove the alternator before disconnect the battery. That is why he got shock.@@justinetyme9933
