The way you can tell Sprocket's really got it right is that when you go all-in on making a replica tank accurate to the real thing, it almost always ends up near-identical to the real thing in terms of performance and weight
Not the weight. I made a T34 with the same specs as the real life version, and guess what? It weighted 68 FUCKING TONNS...
@@_arthur_360 I made a Su-122-54, which is heavier and thicker-armored than a T-34, and it ended up within .5 tons of the real thing. There's no reason your T-34 would be heavier.
@@_arthur_360 maybe the engine is just calculated heavier or the gun is just oversized in some facts, could be many things and after all this game was made by 1 single person so i am really happy thaz the suspenaion got fixed. Whixh makes this 10/10

I have made several Sherman jumbos at 20 tons
To use the decals, first left click on "Place Source" button on the right to put down a Sprocket decal on your tank, then right click that decal (there's an orange circle you can click on), then left click on whatever other decal you want in place of the Sprocket decal

love games like these, hopefully theyll fix the decals and the transmission things
You can apply the decals, you have to click on that option that appears to the right of them. Then you put it where you want. After that you click it an then click the decal you want.
The decals do work, you press that place decal thing, click to place ot, and right click on it once placed, then you select the decal you want and enjoy!
Reminds me of a game way back, different theme yet still, Chromehounds, a mech building game, worked surprisingly well for it's time

@@tejdz1337 I hope there's a multiplayer purely for single tank performance, and a mode where production cost is taken into account and you can field as many tanks as you want within the cost limit. Would add a strategic aspect to the design.
@@theoplays3933 yeah that would be great. The single tank mode will be full of cursed race cars with 250mm mortars though.

U can put more gear ratio to make rpm less so the engine will not get on fire
Just lower engine displacement till the maximum RPM setting for the engine is about 4200RPM, and if you want to scale up engine power, just slap on some more cylinders. It works consistently.

To give horizontal traverse to your mantlet you need to give it more torgue in it's settings.
The second I saw this on steam I bought it, I haven’t ever seen ads for it or anyone play it, I just bought it, and it’s absolutely worth it

Same thing here on Brazil, if it followed the inflation, this game would be over R$200.00, thanks to regional pricing, however, it's only R$37.00
@@eliasdahlqvist7834 because steam set game price base on purchase power. 20 dollar in america are not much, it probably wont last 2 days worth of food *BUT* in my country Malaysia 20 dollar = 85 MYR can buy you 1 week of food or 2 week for some people.

Thing about engine overreving. It's good to give it more displacement and pistons and then set target max. rpm to what the actual max. rpm is. Higher rpm engines are good for lighter vehicles and vice versa for heavier ones.
There's many ways to solve engine overrev in Sprocket. One way is to set gear ratio numbers lower in the last few gears for the transmission or reduce displacement per piston for more pistons. However, as with increased pistons it greatly increases engine weight and volume taken.
@@facenoise465 Yeah. Then youtubers go and make reviews and say "bugged game" when they just suck at it. really annoys me. Also thanks for the advice with gears, i never really bothered setting them up.
Also, since engine torque is what starts the tank moving it should be prioritised first. Power is secondary unless one of the main goals is to achieve certain top speeds. Therefore lighter vehicles can get away with smaller engines that produce less torque which also weighs lighter and occupies less space.
It looks like a great game, one of the best things I like about it is the fact that tanks don't change colour or give you any clue when they die (ex ammo racks of course). I can see a lot of battles where players keep plugging away at dead tanks because they don't know that they are dead !

to place a decal, on the right side menu click the "place source" then once you put the sporcket logo down, right click it so it has a reticle around it, THEN you can click a decal at the bottom to take its place
Holy hell, I waited for a game like this for years, now I can finally make the tank designs I made as a kid become reality!
There is a function with the turrets which turns it into a fixed turret, you can make turretless TDs like Jagdtiger or Jagdpanther with that.

Decals works after click place source, choosing one of them and right button on tank. Thats what I noticed

The stickers work you just have to press “place decal” and then choose what decal you want and then hover over where you want it and click it. I think that is how, if it isn’t please correct me. Also, you can change the size of the decals with Shift+mousewheel just like the normal tank parts. Hope this helps.

Did you happen to notice you put the commanders hatch directly over the weapon breach?
You can fix the turret onto the hull with a button so you dont have to shape the hull in a bad shape

To place a decal you want you need to place the default one by pressing 'place source'. Then you gotta press right mouse button to edit it. Also, if you want your tank to be higher off the ground decrease suspension rest angle. Hope i helped.

Ash the decals are strange because you need to put down the sprocket decal first then you can right click it to then be able to change the type

Suspension was updated recently, it’s a lot stronger now.
I don’t know if you can but a American tank with a big cannon that could deal with the German tigers to putting a navy mount quad 40mm bodies be awesome for secondary armament

How come your tank works like a tank? I've tried making my own and spending some time arsing around with the suspension, even the pre-made ones have jelly suspension, and struggle driving + steering xD

How do you remove the trurret to create a casemate? and how do you spawn other tanks in in the sandbox
Turret > Fixed > click it
Spawn into sandbox and press Z
@@Goose-San you can also just disable the turret from the "shape" section for the turret. Than you can make an actual casemate tank and move the gun left and right around its mantlet. It would be a pain in the ass to make the hul into that shape though.

ash the suspension can be raised at Mobility>Tracks then u select the supension tap on the right side menu (the one next to layout) and the top slider option is the thing u r looking for to raise or lower ur suspension.... i think i might have a new game addiction and i only bought it yesterday

I so totally want to do PvP in this game eventually. With some more solid rules on volume haha.
You'll see tanks that can't move, can't shoot, can't aim, self-deconstruct...etc. It will be funny that 80% of vehicles designed by players are generally incompetent.
@@DeathMatchSAS I ended up with something pretty decent myself but on the outside it looks like a morbidly obese Panzer IV.
I tried to make the T-44, nailed the appearance but the engine explodes after driving for 5 secs, tried to tweak the engine for 2 hours but nothing works

Two weeks late so you may have already figured it out but the decals do work, you gotta click "PLace source" on the right then right click the placed decal THEN click the bottom to change it's type. it's a bit weird.

I hear that you need to make your torsion bars shorter for increased stiffness.
does that mean i can make cursed tanks on that game like (2 turret or LOOONG TANK)
don't forget to increase the torque on the Azimuth so the guns on case mates can turn left and right

Maybe they will add a weight based multiplayer system (so you don't have superheavies inhaling light tanks), would encourage a lot of clever engineering

this is a wierd mashup of multiple tanks, it has the mantlet of the su 152, he calls it an su 85, it has a 100mm gun, and it appears to have been built on the t44 chassis making it look like the su 122-54
