This is Jolee Bindo's story all over again. Basically, Revan taking Jolee's words to heart, as when Jolee let his wife go, she went on to kill many. Now that Revan's lover has fallen, he is forced to kill her. He didn't want to do so, but he had to or so he believed. It's tragic for sure, but it feels ooc for Revan tbh. Either male or female, male Revan sees Bastila as a lover and female sees Bastila as a sister, so I can't really see this ending making sense either way.
I agree. When I played Kotor as an orthodox Jedi, I didn't form any attachments to Bastila. And the story of Jolee, his wife and her Falling to the dark side of the force convinced me that, as a defender of harmony and balance, I must kill Bastila. And I didn't even get dark side points, even though I didn't get light side points. Apparently the Force does not consider killing her evil, since Revan did not do it out of malice. Since Revan did not have a romantic relationship with Bastila, I did not even try to use love to return her to the light side... And in the end, her death was the only way out.
I find it ironic that Revan is credited for being redeemed in this ending, yet Bastilla was not given the same opportunity to redeem herself. She became a Sith for a brief period of time and committed far less harm compared to Revan, yet her atrocities are unforgivable in the eyes of the Council when Revan’s were not. Make it make sense.
I do think that If Bastila granted Revan mercy and I do think it is fair for Revan to return the Favor. For Revan did worse than Bastila ever did while he was on the Dark Side. Revan did kill a lot of people while he was the Dark Lord of Sith.
3:19 It is also possible for Bastila to attack you after you try to redeem her (and she will fight to the death) if you pick the wrong dialogue options.
I believe this KOTOR really displayed the true nature of the force. Current Star Wars writers could really spend a good 20 hours or more playing through it. I myself will be playing through it again for the first time on the Nintendo Switch… as soon as I get my Animal Crossing Island to 5 stars…

it definitely is hollow and feels like a force-in to have some arbitrary romance stuff in the game. her fall was also quite sudden as much as her pride was meant as a telltale sign, it should have been made clearer. this game ain't as perfect as people claim it to be, it absolutely is phenomenal. but it does have its quirks lol@@Hewasnumber1

Maybe the option to kill wasn't an all-too-encompassing conspiracy but just the preference of the teams or a single person who wrote the dialogue and options, and because they were on a time crunch to get it done, they left it in there.
Not necessarily. A female dark side Revan might decide to kill Bastila just out of sheer bitchiness. Some women only make male friends, not female friends.
