  • On a scorching summer day Tom invited me over to install the Free Spirits H-Pipe (De-Cat) and the Triumph Crash Bars on his equally scorching Scrambler 1200. The new header will replace the existing one as well as the catalytic converter.

    Great video , may i ask you about the sound at higher rpm,s like 3000 4000 , still mannered ? All the best 👍 thank you

      @BirchesMoto  4 роки тому +2

      Yes absolutely, honestly you won't notice much of a difference in loudness. Just a slightly better sound character I'd say. But the stock end cans still muffle the sound very well.

    Sweet stuff! Did the decat do the trick on tve heat issue? Can you ride the bike in shorts without having to hold the leg out? Im contemplating decat or low exhaust. The low exhaust prevents crashbars so decat would be better if it still does the job.

    • @BirchesMoto
      @BirchesMoto  4 роки тому +2

      Niklas Zx thanks buddy! Tom has noticed a huge decrease in heat. Much more comfortable on his leg but can't speak to shorts, I'd assume you might still turn your thighs to bacon. But the decat def reduced the radiating heat significantly! Our vote def goes to decat and high pipes!

    This helped me solve the mystery. I just purchased a used 2019 Scrambler 1200 XE and the head pipe appeared to have had a section cut out and then re-welded. I see the Cat Delete you just installed looks exactly the same so that tells me that the former owner installed one as well. Good to know so thanks for that.

    Likely a coincidence but a buddy of mine installed the de-cat on his Thruxton R and a few weeks later odd codes starting popping up. After using aftermarket software, eventually the codes were suppressed and there’s no real evidence the de-cat was the direct cause of the issue. Anyone else have a delayed “code” issue after the de-cat installation?

    No re-map required after the de-cat pipes installation? what about the performance? did they changed?

    • @BirchesMoto
      @BirchesMoto  4 роки тому +2

      No re-map however triumph has you run the bike for a length of time and the ECU will account for the new air/fuel ratio.

    Is this like videotaping yourself committing a crime and then posting it on UA-cam for the authorities to see, lol.
    In all seriousness, is this illegal or only illegal to remove the cat in certain States or countries.
