- This is a quick easy to understand video on how to install the Triumph factory engine dresser bars. These bars add some much needed protection to your Scrambler XC or XE 1200. Thanks for watching ManCave Mayhem! If you haven't yet Follow us on instagram at mancave_mayhem and just remember, "I'm just a man in a cave causing mayhem!"
I could not get the exhaust off for the life of me, but with the help of my 9 year old daughter managed to reach the bolts and nuts and get everything on and torqued up. Thanks for the video!
Gotta Love having those kids with those tiny little hands help out! I’m glad the video help though thanks for watching my friend👍🏻
I agree with not uninstalling the exhaust. Quite easy if you are patient and have hinged sockets and spanners and a socket extension.
Used your video to install the engine cage bars on my ‘22 XE. First turn on a new to me bike. Thank you.
I’m glad it helped my friend ride safe and enjoy your bike👍🏻
Your video totally saved me tonight. I never would have had the courage to tackle the dresser bars on my street scrambler if not for this video. Thank you!
Glad I could help my friend 👍🏻
Really appreciate you stepping up where triumph was lacking.
I purposely put my "dresser bar condom" on upside for you.
Thanks again
Awesome, I’m honored😜👍🏻 Thanks my friend. Thanks for watching. Glad it helped.
Excellent. I'll be doing the install this week. I pick mine up Monday after getting powder coated black (with radiator and other bits). I also got the upper SW Motech bars that are getting powder coated the same black. Thanks again, you make my life easier!
So glad the videos are helping I’m anxious to see how your bike looks it would be cool if you could send me some pictures email me at lwbaldep@gmail.com when you get it done. Thanks for watching my friend.
This was really helpful. I've done mine today. I hung the header up with a luggage strap as per another suggestion to save removing the oxygen sensor and also unbolted the horn.
The plastic blanking plug will unscrew quite easily if you push an Allen key from behind.
I used a breaker bar to loosen the torx engine screws. Retightening them was scary. I set it back to 90nm as I wondered if it was ever going to click, then increased it to 105nm for the first bolt. Cheers for the video! Bob, UK.
Just got your message so glad it was helpful ride safe my friend👍🏻
Just fitted a set of these Triumph bars on a Street Scrambler 900. I found the O2 sensor doesn’t have to come off and the exhaust can be hung out of the way quite easily with a cable tie.
Thanks for that. That sounds like a simplified way to do it👍🏻
I appreciate your thorough installation videos! JOB well done mate. I’ll be doing this on my XE shortly! Cheers
Thanks my friend I’m glad I could be of help to you👍🏻 thanks again for watching😎
It’s a bit fiddly but you can install them without removing the header 👍
Job done with thanks to this info.
I did manage to do it by bending the 17mm ring spanner which meant I didn't need to remove exhaust.
Disclaimer, I have small hands ✋
Good I’m glad that that worked out for you👍🏻
Don't re-use your exhaust gaskets guys. Please.
The plastic plug @ 7:30 you can simply unscrew.
Thanks my friend 👍🏻
Very good video! 👍
Thank you my friend for the kind words and I appreciate it! You ride safe👍🏻
excellent video, i'm planning to buy them an bring them in a suitcase, could you please share the size of the table?? so i can see if they fit???
24”x34”
@@ManCaveMayhem thanks!!!
Anytime, my friend, anytime👍🏻
Big help, thank you 😊
It makes me feel good when I can help somebody👍🏻
Just about to start the job now and needed this video.
How long did it take for installation?
Can anyone speak to the effectiveness of these? Do they do a good job of protecting the bike? I want to practice pivot turns but feel like every time I drop the bike, something breaks. These don’t seem to hold up the same as “true” ADV bikes.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the bike long enough to really put those to use🤣
I don’t believe I would be able to install this with the upper bars I have from Hepco and Becker. The lower mount is shared with the dresser upper mount… bummer
You may be right on that I’m not sure, but I would say you’re probably right 👍🏻
@@ManCaveMayhem I’ve heard there’s a upper crash bar that is compatible with the Triumph dresser bars. Not sure which brand, time for a Google marathon!
I think you scan the QR code and the instructions come up on your computer or phone. That’s what I’ve done before.
That is something that I should’ve probably tried🤣
@@ManCaveMayhem You can go to triumphinstructions.com as well and type in the accessory code and it will come up as well.
nice job. where are you retiring from?how old are you?im 57 yrs old and retired from the grocery biz. I want to buy a used merman and do trips. Pismo Paul
I am also 57 and retiring from a city job. I’m excited to do some more trips on the Burgman as well as my new Triumph👍🏻 Good luck in your search for a Burgman I hope my videos have helped.
@@alberto23 for sure 🤣👍🏻 all the youngsters that written mine love it. Ride safe my friend😜
Hi sir. Want to ask where did you get the exhaust gasket. Thanks.
It came with the kit👍🏻
Appreciate you. All your videos are helpful, ride safe.
I am trying to install the SW Motech crash bars with the original one. Have you seen one or know someone that did it?
Thanks again.
@@NelsonJoson-mu5ko you too, my friend keep the rubber side down👍🏻
@@NelsonJoson-mu5ko I personally have not seen that done, nor do I know if it’s possible. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
You better don't follow these instruction because you don't have to remove the exhaust. Better look at "triumph instructions". 😉
But nevertheless thanks to the guy for his video.
It makes it much easier when you remove the exhaust.
@@ManCaveMayhem I did it today without. No problem. 😉 But thanks.
@@ramirus516 actually the instructions due say to take it off in step 2 which is easy to miss since it’s not on the diagram page.
you’re just a man that installed a n engine guard and didn’t show it all done. ahhhhhh
