    Thanks for the video. Honda dealership wanted to charge me $114.50 to replace all 3 of my brake lights. I laughed in the service advisor face and respectfully declined. Drove to the local autozone and spend $25 on 2 pairs of bulbs and 20 minutes of my time later..working brake lights.

      I was quoted $50 labour to do my cabin filter even if I provided it, I thought they could just include it with my oil change but nope, you don't even need a single tool to do it too lol and takes all of 2 minutes...dealership crooks!

    I always appreciate a tutorial like this, You make a simple job seem simple, you're thorough, and you''re to the point. A lot of people like me who are a little ignorant about basic car repair and maintenance can stress a lot about simple tasks, so this approach is much appreciated.

    Many thanks for such a great video.
    I called around to a couple shops in my area cause my break light went out and they were charging $40-$45 per bulb!!!
    I said no thanks and decided to try myself. Your video was a lot of help. Went to AutoZone and got the bulbs I need and they were only $6 for a two pack!
    Many thanks again for teaching me something new and saving me some time! :)

      @@RBTheMechanic Many thanks! I defenitly plan on learning to work on my own car. As a female, I have had some issues with some of the shops I took my car to (example. I had several shops that tried to charge me for large amounts of work just to pass inspection that I didn't need) so I want to learn how to do it myself.
      I have subscribed and will defenitly tell all my civic friends to look at your vids!

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  2 роки тому

      Did u put in correct bulb? U can use test light to check power and ground into the socket while some on press the peddle that would confirm it’s bulb or somthing electrical

    • @dr1bblez
      @dr1bblez 2 роки тому +1

      @@RBTheMechanic yes I have used the correct bulbs. I took it out and compared it at the auto shop. So it's definitely the right one. I don't have a multimeter either but it's ok now. • @science2781
      @science2781 3 роки тому +1

      You have to turn the plastic screw a couple of turns counterclockwise. If you don't do that, the screw spreads the arms of the lower piece and it won't fit back in the hole. To put the retaining screw back in, the idea is to loosen the screw so that the lower arms can come in to a narrow diameter, then theses arms will fit in the hole. Then when you tighten the screw it expands those arms back out so that the retaining piece won't pop back out of the hole. It is a common connector in Honda's, Toyota's and Lexus. If you try to hammer it back into the hole (...she said) it will ruin the connector. You can buy new ones at the dealership. They are about $1 each, but hey, we learned our lesson.

    Hi great video 👍🏼. I have a 2008 Honda Civic 1.8l and I’m having issues with the calibers sticking. I installed new calibers, slider pins, rotors, brake pads and both front brake line hoses. I’m still getting sticky calibers causing the rotors to get hot while driving. I did a complete brake flush to make sure there’s no air in the lines and filled the brake fluid reservoir to the correct full level but can not seem to find the problem. There’s no leaks around the master cylinder, no ABS or break lights on and the brake lines look good. Brake fluid runs through the front and back brake lines properly. I’m stuck on this one. If you or anyone have any ideas on what my issue is can you please let me know. There’s no ABS or any warning lights, no codes. Thank you.

    dammit man I should have watched this first. Both my brake lights went out at the same time. So I didn't know which bulb it was. So I damn well changed the wrong bulbs, and still no brake lights(signal light bulbs) then I tested the wrong bulb housing wire with the brake pedal pressed and hey I wasn't getting power. So I thought I was being crafty and ran a jumper wire from the high mount, thinking problem solved. And, with the ignition off, all 3 lit. However with ignition on I realized I had run jumper wires to the signal lights. So my hazards were lit continuously and the signal lights did not work anymore. I went, what the f? Cut the jumper wires, and went searching forums for where the fuses are. There is only one under the hood and since my horn worked and the high mount worked, I was wtfing again. Then I thought, wait. I don't know which bulb it should be. So I learned that from this video. Am I dumb or what. 3 hours wasted.
